It's good that there's at least one John Brzenk, but let's not go so far as to say everyone should be like that. If everyone was like that, the sport would never get any attention and it would be super boring to watch. John is great because he's one of the few like that, but I'm glad it's rare.

He's big, he's strong, he's young. That can't be denied, but look at what Brzenk has done for decades. It is unmatched in sports. Nothing to even compare it to.
It's so impressive the way John just snatches up Allen's hand like it's nothing. I don't think people realize just how difficult that is to do on Allen. He has abnormally large hands (Allen Fisher does) that are often compared to catcher mitts. Anyone that can just snatch up that hand like that must have extreme power. I've only ever seen John do it with that kind of ease.
I saw both of their arms get measured after the ROTN and actually, Fisher's forearm was 14 even with his arm straight out and forearm flexed. Brzenk's was 15.5". Brzenk's upper arm was 18.25'" (he was surprised it was that big). Fisher's was 15.75". Fisher's forearms look about the same size as Brzenk's but it must just be because they are so big compared to the rest of his body.
Fisher is one of the best of all-time, but Brzenk is THE best of all-time. Yes, there are a ton of 280 pound monsters out there today; some who are allowed to compete but shouldn't (Cyplenkov). Accomplishments, impact on the sport, and reign of relative dominance are all as important as head-to-head matches.
dvr1337 imo, it's easier to be champ in lightweight division, rather than dominate in heavyweight, cause it's more traumatic, and yeah, John could beat superheavyweights while being just heavyweight
Darchan Darchan I'm pretty sure it's all relative. Larger weight classes are going to have stronger guys on the whole but by and large getting to the top of your own weight division is going to be tough in any case. People who do that and are still exceptional can tango with dudes in higher weight classes - this applies to smaller and bigger dudes. Brzenk is a beast, but last time they went up he got toasted by Larratt, who has a significant size advantage. I know Brzenk has beaten him in the past but Devon is just getting stronger. Hell Devon just took down Jerry Cadorette despite a 100 or so pound weight disadvantage. My point is there are too many variables to say one weight class is easier than another and it just comes down to which two competitors you're talking about and how they compare at any given time.

John didn't really have anyone, he was the first man on the moon of real mainstream arm wrestling. ANd even with him as a goal, I'm not sure anyone will do it quite as long at that level.
