      It's good that there's at least one John Brzenk, but let's not go so far as to say everyone should be like that. If everyone was like that, the sport would never get any attention and it would be super boring to watch. John is great because he's one of the few like that, but I'm glad it's rare.

      I agree. John and Levan are good examples of guys who are so good at what they do that they don't have to resort to mind games, or worse, rudeness or intimidation. They know they're going to win and therefore they're relaxed and confident. Women like that in guys, not insecurity.

    It's so impressive the way John just snatches up Allen's hand like it's nothing. I don't think people realize just how difficult that is to do on Allen. He has abnormally large hands (Allen Fisher does) that are often compared to catcher mitts. Anyone that can just snatch up that hand like that must have extreme power. I've only ever seen John do it with that kind of ease.

Brzenk's upper arm was 18.25'" (he was surprised it was that big). Fisher's was 15.75". Fisher's forearms look about the same size as Brzenk's but it must just be because they are so big compared to the rest of his body.

    • @roberttaylor8906
      @roberttaylor8906 6 років тому +7

      Darchan Darchan I'm pretty sure it's all relative. Larger weight classes are going to have stronger guys on the whole but by and large getting to the top of your own weight division is going to be tough in any case. People who do that and are still exceptional can tango with dudes in higher weight classes - this applies to smaller and bigger dudes. Brzenk is a beast, but last time they went up he got toasted by Larratt, who has a significant size advantage. I know Brzenk has beaten him in the past but Devon is just getting stronger. Hell Devon just took down Jerry Cadorette despite a 100 or so pound weight disadvantage. My point is there are too many variables to say one weight class is easier than another and it just comes down to which two competitors you're talking about and how they compare at any given time.

    You may keep the same power, but muscle regeneration, hormone/blood delivery, bone density, nervous system "firing" time, etc., all slow down with age. Once you cross 44-45, it degenerates quickly. Power can stay, but all of those other little factors make it much harder on the old legends to keep up with the Larratt's, Kostadinov's and Cyplenkovs of the world.

    At this point in Allen's career, age, and then John just being heavier, not much of a chance. Always amazed at the natural genes that Fisher has. John is just the top bar of the sport that no one else will ever surpass. It is always harder when you are the guy who done all this stuff first. John is "the goal" for all these younger guys, and some may break some of his accomplishments, but they have him as a goal to look at. John didn't really have anyone, he was the first man on the moon of real mainstream arm wrestling. ANd even with him as a goal, I'm not sure anyone will do it quite as long at that level. Maybe Michael Todd and Devon will get close, they've both been at this a long time. But even they aren't quite as competitive with the foreign monsters as John was.

      Not entirely. John has beaten many heavy weights who's aboved his weight class and those who are much bigger than him.

      Weight matters to a degree, until it doesn't. Check out Brzenk vs. Richard Lupkes from 1988 on YT. Jonh also gave away over 300 lbs. to Cleave Dean and won anyway. If weight matters that much, that should not happen. But it did. @@debanitdas520

    that's the first time i have ever seen the 26 time world champion lose! It seems like he has a habit of lifting his elbow in matches. this video shows it and many others, yet he gets away with it. they call it the first time and then let it go. good video!

    Allen Fisher has born in 1957? So Wikipedia is wrong, because there it says that he has born in 1944...

    no it was the year earlier 2003 when he weighed 233lbs or so, Then he came backnext year weighing about 273lbs in 2004, then in 2007 he had a 6-0 clean sweep against michael todd. It's not hype, it's just that you don't know anything about him.

    Haha, in the first match when Allen fouled, you can see him try to snatch John's wrist away but John's just having none of it.

    fucking hell have i seen bullshit on here, vevoda has age and wieght on john whereas experience is on johns side, the only thing that would make the match even against said opponents is age, if they were the same age john would win hands down, this guy pulls young guys in their prime, john is the greatest armwrestler and will remain so for an extremely long time, no one can match what he has done for the sport and what he has earnt within the sport... legend and always will be... john brzenk

    Fisher's are probably in the 15's if goosenecked. I heard Richard Lupkes forearms are 20" (goosenecked, I would assume). I have never seen Cleve in person but I wouldn't be surprised if it were true considering his weight fluctuated between 400 an 600 lbs.

    travis bagent beat voevoda with the left hand. that isn't surprising. bagent is a left hand specialist.
    dont know what you are talking about when you say "he did the same training", but voevoda's trainer said that after voevoda lost he came back and trained even harder than before.
    i agree brzenk was not in his best condition here, but regardless, i am confident voevoda would still have beaten him.
