Hi Curtis appreciate that you’re interested in learning Islam. A practicing muslim would stay away forbidden things like eating pork, alcohol, drugs, parting/bars, fornication, lying, cheating etc.
Do’s= believing in one true God and believing all the prophets including Jesus and Muhammad, worshipping God/Allah 5 times a day, giving charity, fasting ramadan, learning the Qur’an, being kind to parents and neighbors, etc
and remember it’s isn’t easy to do that all at once but you will do it step by step and your will definitely get used to it and enjoy doing them. Would definitely recommend you to talk to an imam you will find him in any mosque and you can learn something from him.

I also came here to learn more about Islam - not because I'm interested in converting as I had the blessing of being born a Christian and love my religion, but simply because I wanted to know more about Islamic customs, beliefs and practices, and to educate myself. It's people like you that are the problem and deter non-Muslims from Islam. Please stop telling/pressuring people to convert to your religion.

Yes it feels like I have been Muslim for years. I converted five years ago. My friend took shahada last year and I have friend who took it almost 50 years ago.

I’m a recent revert. About half a year in. This video is wonderful but I’m doubting if I have done my shahada correctly. I haven’t finished reading the whole Quran and I don’t have the most knowledge. I had someone help me say the shahada but sometimes I think it felt a bit rushed however I’ve never regretted it and it’s been amazing. Trying to pray 5 times a day and slowly start with the hijab.
I think people who just reverted shouldn’t be expected to be perfect from day one. I still find it difficult to pray 5 times a day. But I feel like I’m not a good enough muslim.... sorry I went on a rant but I keep feeling lost.
sister the first and foremost thing is to accept the one true god who deserves to be worshiped ....because this is the biggest sin that one can do by rejecting the one god who gave us and created everything. nobody is pecfect everybody has flaws ....dont think islam is hard....islam is the religion of peace that has been sent down for mankind to perfect their life not only in this world but also the life after ....islam is easy.its everything about good.i know as a new revert its tough for you....but beleive me its very easy. just dont take it all at one time.take ur time but do your best....inshallah you will be on the right path and in the path of light.may peace and mercy be upon you.welcome to the family of over 1.8 billion muslims and the fastest growing religion in the world :-)

Notes of Shahada foundation : deceleration of faith
5 pillars of Islam, 9 conditions of shahada:
1. Knowledge = 1 God/Allah
2.Certainty = no doubt in entirety with no exception
3. Acceptance= with heart and action that all parts of Islam
4. submissions = acts of obedience. Praying, hijab, no eyebrow work
5 truthfulness = say it with out pressure and sincerity .
6. Sincerely= no inner motive. Not forced Just for Allah
7. denial of false worship = Allah is above all.
8. adherence = stay consistent with shahada until death. Beneficial for afterlife. Peace

I am taking my Shahada this thursday! 🙏❤️ I live in Belgium and i always had muslim friends Who became more family than my real family. 🙏 I am now 37 and i wondering now Why it took me this long. But i Will be doing it... But i am worried that i Will not be good enough... Cause i Will have to make a lot of changes. 🙏 I want to be a good muslim but i worry i Will fail. 🙏

No muslim is 💯 perfect we all trying our best and remember Allah loves the effort so do not ever think that you’re not good enough. Just try your best and leave the rest to your creator. If you pray 5 times a day and stay away from haram things and learn the Quran you’re actually good Alhamdulillah. You will learn and get used to it slowly inshAllah just try your best and remember Allah is the most merciful and most forgiving.

I prayed my New Years in this year. Was not drinking smoking or in a club. I went into my prayer closet and lit a candle. I heard Gods voice saying I need to be Muslim. I have been Christian a long time and it seems there is so much to learn and unlearn are there any books that you would suggest?

I suggest you talk about how merciful and forgiving god is , that’s gonna help new muslims alot , because we all make mistakes and god knows that because he created us , and a New muslim can run away from islam if you make it look so hard and that he has to do all that at all times or his shahada is not complete, its a little too much for a new muslim

I was born a Muslim but wasn’t really paying attention to the religion but I want to change I said the shahada again and will try to pray 5 times a day end all sins and maybe wear the hajiab. Remember guys Allah is the most powerful and merciful!

Unfortunately, I am more discouraged after watching this video. I felt I was ready to take my shahada and move forward. I’ve been married to a Muslim for 17 years and we have raised our kids in Islam. I have spent years waiting for me to have 100% understanding and agreement with everything I’ve learned about the religion. everyone has told me it doesn’t have to be perfect for me to convert. If I believe in the five pillars and can make the statement of shahada that I should do it now and not wait even though I haven’t decided 100% to become hijabi etc. Looking for feedback from any of you. Basically the fourth condition makes me feel like if I convert now it would not be right. Help
Just do it if you belive it , it is always the same trick from devil he always put doubt in non muslim head that will make him delay it , you can do shahdah now and step by step you wear hijab if its hard to you , you can start wearing modest cloth then you will use to it and wearing hijab will be easy for you ,if you need help dont hesitate to ask

All this being said, what would be the status of someone who said their shahada but did not meet some or all of the conditions? Are they Muslim? Should they at some point in their future decide the really believe it would they have to say their shahada again?🌷

Praise be to God Who lies inside all hidden things, and towards Whom all open things guide. He cannot be seen by the eye of an onlooker, but the eye which does not see Him cannot deny Him while the mind that proves His existence cannot perceive Him. He is so high in sublimity that nothing can be more sublime than He, while in nearness, He is so near that no one can be nearer than He.
He is different from everything but not in physical separation. He acts but without connotation of movements and instruments. He sees even when there is none to be looked at from among His creation. He is only One, such that there is none with whom He may keep company or whom He may miss in his absence.
Praise be to GOD for Whom one condition does not proceed another so that He may be the First before being the Last or He may be Manifest before being Hidden. Everyone called one (alone) save Him is by virtue of being small (in number); and everyone enjoying honour other than Him is humble. Every powerful person other than Him is weak. Every master (owner) other than Him is slave (owned).
Every knower other than Him is seeker of knowledge. Every controller other than Him is sometimes imbued with control and sometimes with disability. Every listener other than Him is deaf to light voices while loud voices make him deaf and distant voices also get away from him. Every onlooker other than Him is blind to hidden colours and delicate bodies. Every manifest thing other than Him is hidden, but every hidden thing other than Him is incapable of becoming manifest.
He did not create what He created to fortify His authority nor for fear of the consequences of time, nor to seek help against the attack of an equal or a boastful partner or a hateful opponent. On the other hand all the creatures are reared by him and are His humbled slaves. He is not conditioned in anything so that it be said that He exists therein, nor is He separated from anything so as to be said that He is away from it.

I am looking into Islam and would like to take Shahada, but however it is a hard step to take due to me being a Catholic my whole life

Is shahada in Koran ? In what year came the shahada?
Is it necessary for women to take shahada Infront of imaam or anybody who offer namaz 5 times or its okay to take shahada with 2 witnesses?
You can say shahadah alone
Say it in Arabic and after that in your language ( to understand it)
So if you believe that there is no God but Allah and that Muhammad peace be upon him is his prophet and messenger

How do you have full beliefs
If you don’t follow all pillars I.e not pray 5 times a day. Does that mean you’re not a Muslim? As I know a lot of Muslims that don’t follow the 5 pillars but would say they’re a Muslim and their relationship with Allah is personal to them?
Sister it's a matter of dispute among scholars but there is no chance to stop praying 5 times. And do you want to take shahada

I don’t believe it is necessary your shahada is one thing but believing in it is another
