- Suddenly Intex pool filter cartridges are as scarce as toilet paper was this past spring. You can't find any! Here is a foolproof method of cleaning your cartridge and extending its life.
Amazing! I'm having trouble finding filters as well. This video will hopefully allow me to stretch my 2 filters the rest of the summer or until stores have them in stock again!
Thank you for sharing how often should you do this?

Your pool looks way out of level. Has it fallen down yet?
Thanks for the secret 👌🌻
I worked in the inground pool industry for about 20 so I don't know about Intex parts, but it looks like a cheap filter. We used to buy from Unicel. They might make a replacement your size. And we used to sell cartridge cleaning solution or recommend customers use 50/50 vinegar water solution to deep clean the cartridge. The cartridges we used lasted a year or more.
Just soak the cartridges in vinegar & water ?
@@XX-cu4ug you can do a 50/50 vinegar water solution. But it would be cheaper to buy filter cartridge cleaning solution, you just add a few ounces per gallon of water. Leslie's Pool Supply would be one place you could purchase it.
Also they should be cleaned DAILY? That seems a bit much. But I will listen to your advice.
B-dette Asitmay I clean daily because of heavy use.
No they shouldn't. You should wait until water flow reduces. They filter better, the more dirty they are. When the flow slows, it's really getting the smallest particles.
This pump is way too small for a pool this size.
wouaouuuuu thank you
THANK YOU!!!!!
Amazing tips, thank you
That’s great
Since your pump is obviously below the waterline of the doughboy what measures did you take so that water did not flow out of the pool. My pool guy told me the filter and all should be above the fill line when I want to change or clean it. So did you turn it off....or raise the cartridge and pump higher than water line? That is what I want to know.
I have a very similar pool it comes with plugs to close of the filter and return lines. You don't need to move the pump.
I have shut off valves on both ends. Keeps me from losing a bunch of water
Thank you
I use the same A or C filters. On my third summer with a 15 foot intex. Not sure what they are doing in their pool but mine never get that dirty in one day. I just use my garden hose with a hand sprayer for 5 to 10 minutes and they look about as clean as this.
Mine gets gross. Manufacturer says to replace it or clean every two weeks which is impossible. I spray it with the hose as well.
