Married 57 years…This was our song! My hubby was leaving for Vietnam September 1966, and returning September 1967! He made it home safely, and we celebrated our 57th anniversary in October. I bought this song on a plaque, and gave it him on our anniversary a couple years ago! Sweet memories of watching him come home, and meeting him at the Indianapolis airport September 67…..❤️🇺🇸
may the LORD bless all faithful noble warriors who rendered their lives for GOD and the Country. and may GOD bless all unions to go through all eternity. 🕊🕊🕊🕊
We use to start school in September and that's also my birthday month so I always loved to hear this song thinking how you were going to see all of your friends again. If you got to grow up anytime in the 50's through the 90's with all the golden classic cars, movies, music & concerts from the greatest pop culture era's ever, YOU were very blessed!
Hi All, I remember going to Lake Calhoun Mpls that summer to take in the Dick Clark video. I recall them needing canoe veterans and being a Boundary Waters Canoe Leader I volunteered to stabilize a canoe full of fans whiile they recorded. The water skiing was only for the recording because motor boats and water skiing was not allowed on the urban lake. See you in Minneapolis in September in the future.
Thanks for giving an info to a Filipino fan 63 year old .this song very popular untilearly 70s in manila. Even became a theme song of popular movie here back then.aha summer lake shore experience, until now ain't got any just use my imagination of how does it feel 😅haha.
Was busy falling in love to this and other sounds almost 60 years ago. The object of that affection is gone now, too, for 25 years. Gee, I miss our young love. Oh Time, you thief.❤️🩹
When this song came out I had a huge crush on a sweet girl in my class but I was so shy that I couldn't say anything to her. I sang along with this song every time it played on the radio! It was the longest summer in my life 😮💨
Takes me back to when my first steady boyfriend's parents would send him away for the summer..we would write to each other and looked forward to September when school would start and we would see each other again
This song takes me back decades. Too many because I can't recall if it was at Thomas Jefferson Jr high, or North Miami high. I was an extreme introverted young man. I had a super crush on a young lady, who was both beautiful academically gift. She was out of my league. When ever this song would hit the air waves of my radio, she would pop into my day dreams. I have no doubt that she became a wonder wife and mother. Plus a super great grandmother.
It was very hard on the family. The country was very divided back then. As we all remeber. We lost a lot of young men and woman then and still are. Thank you for condolences.
Are used to play this song on a jukebox for $.10 when my father went down to get pizza and look at the girl who waited us at the pizzeria, she was so beautiful I just remembered I wish I was older at least 13!
I thought this was Frankie Valle and the 4 seasons When I was a kid . It wasn't until I youtubed it a few year's back that I heard of this group the happenings. Always liked this song
I remember watching them on ABC's where The action is show that the late Dick Clark produced awesome song and show those were great time's and beautiful songs to listen
I grew up in the 60's and 70's. Still think it's odd that people wore suits to what should be a casual event. Singing at the beach to kids in swim suits....wear a suit. Go to a pro football game when it's 15 degrees ......wear a suit and the wife wears a dress and high heels. Great song and talent on display here.
I played in a rock and big band group in the 60’s. We played rock on most Friday nights and dance music for the older crowd on Saturdays. We had black tuxedo pants with the stripe down the leg, white shirts and black ribbon ties. For the older crowd we had blue tuxedo jackets, and rock nights, we had camel hair jackets with a belt around the back. We both sang and danced while we played and did very well for a bunch of young guys money wise. Being dressed like that lasted until the late sixties when casual clothes started up, but we stuck to our guns and made money every weekend until we all got grown up jobs and just didn’t have time for it anymore. It was the style back then and was considered the professional appearance that led to more and more bookings and higher pay.
AMO esta música MARAVILHOSA e inesquecível. Saudades.......saudades......saudades .... de vocês meus amores eternos e queridos do meu coração. Como fomos felizes ouvindo See You In Setember. Beijos meus amores eternos e vamos continuar ouvindo SEMPRE. AMO VOCÊS pra toda a vida.
Totally forgot about the song the harmonies & story line are fantastic. Reminds me of the guy I fell in love with while visiting relates 1,2OO miles away on summer vacation when I was 17, such strong emotions.
In those days, my parent's went to the beach, after church all dressed up. You rented lockers and bathing suits and that was the norm. You had locker attendants and crimes like theft were rare.
You should have gone down to Prescott on the St Croix. No crime at all, nice diving board, lockers in the hut not necessary. Clothes just on hooks. (but i was swimming on northern lakes and fast to avoid hypothermia along Superior cliffs to secluded beaches in August.)
That was marvelous, makes me laugh thinking of past memories. Thanks for sharing! Have a successful trip to Colorado and much success navigating the airports…
Wow What A Gift From The One And Only Jesus Christ .. Another Perfect Song , Group& Arrangement Thank You God For So Many Wonderful Memories 🕊️🕊️🕊️👍🤩🤩🙀😅

Que linda história
This song is unforgettable no matter where you were in school or being drafted or having a girl or guy waiting for the fall term.
I remember staying awake with my little FM radio waiting for this song to come on the radio.
I remember it coming on the oldies channel in the 80s.
I used to listen to this when I was 63, and now I'm 17. This will forever be a classic.
THIS IS REAL MUSIC MY FRIENDS .
SIMPLE AND CLEAR !
I LOVE IT .
I couldn't agree more.
You know it....
Great falsetto that makes the song so memorable.
I love this song, now as much as I did then.

It's a shame they renamed the lake to something unpronounceable and idiotic.
Calhoun, a nice Dakota name...
@@briseboy - They changed it to Bidet Kaka Spa. And that is exactly what it is. A Bidet Kaka Spa.

They are now in their 80s ....time is relentless ...always forward. Don't waste a day!

WHAT A GREAT SONG! PEOPLE WERE SO HAPPY BACK THEN. I REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS SONG. IT KNOCKED ME OUT.
This was filmed at Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis for the TV show "Where The Action Is".
Just 12 likes has your very illustrative comment? I'm losing faith in humanity 😢
@@josecruyff1712- "'AWWWE!!!'* 😢😮😅😂
Thank you, I was wondering where it was filmed. It looks beautiful there!
thank you for filling that info in. I was curious. thats a big lake.
I remember that show! I’m 72!
When this song came out I had a huge crush on a sweet girl in my class but I was so shy that I couldn't say anything to her. I sang along with this song every time it played on the radio! It was the longest summer in my life 😮💨
What happened when you saw her after the summer. Did you ever talk to her and tell her that you liked her?
Takes me back to when my first steady boyfriend's parents would send him away for the summer..we would write to each other and looked forward to September when school would start and we would see each other again
Such a talented group “The Happenings” one of the greatest songs of the 60s!
this song was used in back-to-school ads when i was growing up in suburban NYC…✨
#nostalgia
Foi muito bom ter vivido esse tempo em que se fazia música de verdade. Bons tempos.
Saudade dessa época; os seres humanos eram mais revestidos de pureza e inocência!!

This song is beautiful..
He was one lucky man to have a woman as youself. Many more years of happiness. I lost my cousin in June of 67 in Viet Nam in Ton Tom Province.
I am so sorry for your loss.
Your poor cousin…God Bless him 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
It was very hard on the family. The country was very divided back then. As we all remeber. We lost a lot of young men and woman then and still are. Thank you for condolences.
1966 the greatest year for music
From the greatest decade the 60$
Not just 1966
Not just the 60s there were also the 70s and 80s
❤😂😅🎉 Brings back "GRRREAT!" Memories of my young childhood!!!

This song is so great. Takes me back to being a kid
I remain curious at all the people who relegate MUSIC to some past, or theirs.
You hear the music NOW. Live accordingly. NOW.
If you're lucky, someday you'll be old enough to have memories brought back by the music you used to listen to when you were young. If you're lucky.
One of the great songs of a great Era. 2024 May
Absolutely!
Ah, the GRAND old days of May, '24!
I miss them so! I miss August, too. It's September& i don't see you.
Great singing. In the 4 Seasons style.
I remember watching them on ABC's where The action is show that the late Dick Clark produced awesome song and show those were great time's and beautiful songs to listen
This reminds me the end of classes.Back then classes star back at the begining of september.
a fabulous pop hit . my favorite version. A more innocent era and the music reflected the generation coming of age.
The innocence was YOURS. Keep it or lose it, your choice.
I was 11 years old and hadn’t been in Charlotte long. BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES AND such dear old friends . 😅
