Bought it in an electronics market when I visited Tokyo on holiday. Not seen them online 😞. I am planning to take another trip to Japan in July, if I see more I will definitely buy more.
I'm curious if there's a way to smooth out the signal a bit. I mean have you noticed it kind of shifts around when measuring? it's not as steady as a real more expensive one, so I imagine maybe there's a floating resistor that can pulled high or low. or maybe a capacitor can be added. I dunno something...
Hello Drew, thanks for your comment. I doubt it very much. I think the issue is inherent in the design. If it was that easy to resolve, I am sure FNIRSI's R&D department would have done it. I still think this is a great device for the money.
@@ElectroBananasYT I have one of these, and having nothing connected, I'm getting a continuous pattern. I'm guessing whatever tiny bit of noise is registering is the smoking gun here.
Hi I have the same device, can you detect the problem for me? I made a mistake instead of testing the 20 volt battery with the special 0-40v plug I injected 20 volt where there is the location of the components. the device no longer turns on
Wonder what part i fried by accidentally sending a voltage to the ZIF socket?? Id like to repair it if possible. Only activity i can see now is the Charge LED while plugged in. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks for your upload.
I have a similar problem. My device failed on the day I received it, just tested 2 caps and the oscilloscope function. Suddenly turned off and seems that doesn´t receive charge.
Thank you. Maybe one capacitor could not be full discharged. Anyhow connected an external power supply to the board and the tester woke up. All functional now except the components tester. I got 50% refund from the seller.
can you tell me what the component is at your right thumb at 11:30 please SOT23- I took off afew components to repair mine and the photos i took can't make out clearly the component markings please?
Note that this is not a multimeter, it is a component tester with a basic scope and signal generator attached. As such, it does not have the same input protection as a multimeter does. As with most components testers, you will kill them my using it to test a capacitor that has not been discharged first.
I would like to see the banana connectors mod! I already ordered the TC3 but will arrive in a month to Argentina. I’m a little bit worried about sampling wobbling, but it’s fine for the price. Thank you for review it
Hello, Can it be used in automotive diagnostics? Does it support CAN, LIN and FlexRay protocols? And if not so what is the affordable one do you recommend for automotive repair?
Hello, as the microcontroller has had its markings removed we can't tell what type it is. However judging by performance of this device and the number of pins on the microcontroller, I think it is safe to say that in is not a 328.
Hello i got the same device mines burnt out with a capacitor accidentally. The little chip on location u6 is burnt out. Now i want to try to ad a new chip but i can,t read the chip anymore.... Would you check for me what type it is?.... (chip number) Thanks in advance if you would like to do this for me 😊👍✌
@@ElectroBananasYT Hello thank you now can i try to repair it. :) The cos724 (quad opamp) was also going to overheat now i have removed these 2 bad chips. After this remove the oscilloscope is still working the signal generator i didn,t test it because you can,t use them simultaneously on the DSO-TC3 and I don't have another oscilloscope. Thanx. 😊👍

Sorry to hear that. If there is no display and no beeps when you press the buttons then most likely the microcontroller is damaged. Second perhaps the power system is damaged. If the microcontroller is damaged, then i doubt that it would be a viable fix 😢
@@ElectroBananasYTI still get the beeps on button presses and the charge status led seems to work properly. Maybe I can find a schematic for it. You earned a sub though for your reply. Thanks.
That is good to hear. See if you can switch on the function generator. If you can there is a *possibility* that just the display module is damaged. Perhaps you can get one from FNIRSI, their customer service is quite good.
@@ElectroBananasYT Their CS is so good they sent me a new one in like 72 hours. I just haven't had the time to go through both of them at the same time. Yes the generator throws out a 1kHz Square soon as it's turned on. I already hooked a speaker up to it to compare to the new one.
This is a nice bit of kit, far better when you upgrade the firmware to version 3. Thank you for taking the time to show this tool.
Glad you liked it. Will definitely do the upgrade.
Instead of drilling holes in a plastic case for banana connectors, you can make a small PCB for ZIF socket with connectors for your tester.
That is not a bad idea :)
Appreciate this feedback & details.
Most welcome
Thank you for your video. I have a question. Where did you buy the yellow handle opening tool? Please let me know.

That is quite normal to see on digital scopes.

Hello, have a look at the conversation in the comments by @InfectedCreations (about 8 months ago). He also damaged the device but managed to fix it.

Oh no. Were the caps discharged? Try reaching out to FNIRSI for guidance, I have found them to be very responsive and helpful. Wishing you the best.

Hi, Assuming you are referring to Q4, it is marked 1AM and is a MMBT3904 general purpose NPN transistor. Good luck with fixing it Andy.
Mine should arrive within a few days. Can't wait!
I think you will enjoy using it :)
@@ElectroBananasYT Yes, thrilled with it. Excellent build quality too. 55 euro including the scope probe kit.
Hello. In measurement, can you measure the esr of a capacitor? Or not?
Yes, of course.
Yes. When measuring capacitance it also displays Vloss and ESR,
Ok, friends ✌😉👍
But how easy does it blow up? My last cheap meter lasted 7 days

Hello, Can it be used in automotive diagnostics? Does it support CAN, LIN and FlexRay protocols? And if not so what is the affordable one do you recommend for automotive repair?
Hello, no it is not designed for automotive diagnostics so does not support those protocols. Sorry I am not familiar with automotive repairs.
DSo tc3 capacitor was short circuited while measuring..no screenshot, the device does not turn on..help please

2mm jacks would be the way to go for the SMD adaptation.

Could be! Thanks for the thought :)
