Fun fact: Apparently the discussion seen in this episode was written around the time where Aka Akasaka (the creator of Kaguya-sama and Oshi no ko) was writting for Kaguya-sama and Oshi no ko at the same time (all while also having the Kaguya-sama anime airing). So this scene is pretty much venting out all his stress over such an inmense task. You can clearly feel the passion and frustration of Akasaka through all the commentary on making manga this episode. I'm glad this show is bringing awareness to how much effort goes in these productions. I also find funny how that mangaka argument went down: “Your work gets one chapter a month, it’s trash that don’t even sell as good!” “Well yours is weekly cuz it’s mainstream trash, it’s predictable!”. And honestly what I got from this episode is that true friendship is being able to tell each other "you're trash!" but still helping them out XD.
The production on this show is so good the argument with the 2 mangaka was so good the voice acting music were they panned the camera around the room is so good and for a non action show oshi no ko elevates the source material and uses the the strengths of animation so well tho if it didnt id be a bit hypothetical
The reference to "Playboy" is not to a Japanese edition of the US magazine, but rather to a different unrelated entertainment magazine called Weekly Playboy. It's supposedly a lot tamer (more like a racy UK tabloid); while there's some girly pinup stuff and it does cater to men, most of Weekly Playboy is just features on celebrities, idols, etc. along with a couple of manga.
I seriously enjoy this show and You reacting to it. 15:05 Abiko receives the reality check from her sensei and starts the greatest argument in all of anime in my opinion.😂 Great reaction!😃
As for theaters like the one presented here, they are called Stage around and there aren't a lot right now around the world. The one in the anime is a real life example and the only one that exist in Japan right now. The mechanism is called "revolving auditorium" and has been in use for a fairly long time, I believe the first example was in Finland in the 1960, but it is not something that is used usually because it is costly and needs a lot of maintenance.
You can look up some clips of stage plays of some popular anime like Haikyu or Blue lock which seems like impossible to do as a stage play but they made it work somehow
Stage around was real, curtain-screens, rotating audience and everything. It had a few stage plays including a final fantasy one and then it closed down. And 2.5D plays doesn’t have to be hyper-technological or anything. It just means that it’s an adaptation from a "2D" medium as in otaku stuff (manga, games, anime, light novel, etc.). It’s to differentiate from normal original stage plays (Shakespear, Broadway, etc.)
This exact one doesn't exist anymore but there's many theaters like this in japan but the prices are really high.

I love the energy of this scene and I love how Akasaka is able to take Slice-of-Life and make it intense.
"Smash Heaven" Man, Akane isn't being subtle, is she? 😂

Oshi no peak from next episode

These theaters exist… the theater Aqua, Akane, and Kana are going to perform in is modeled after the one in Toyosu, Tokyo.
Finally oshi no yes
Finally, a good UA-camr apology 😂

That theatre is real btw.
2min ago, that's crazy!
Love the Oshi No Ko love!!!
I love how every reactor keeps asking whether or not the Stage Around exists IRL rather than taking 5 seconds to google it.
farming engagement. comments are better for the algorithm. that is why I always comment on channels that I like
This might be my favorite episode of the season. And I think the theater they went to exists but it closed down a few years ago. (2019?)
I think that Akane is Goro's love interest
And
Kana is Aqua's love interest

7:03 Man, he jokingly called himself in 3rd person as "Ojisan" like a proud uncle. The joke got butchered, RIP.
W prez apology

Hidive is more expensive than Crunchyroll; I get that, but man, this subtitle is bad.
