This is what I like in this channel. You always try to restore logically. Few minutes ago, I saw the same repair in another channel where the guy just bypassed the PS and put another SMPS to supply 12volt! Pathetic!!
power protection 59, you have to see if its PS1 or PS2 (PS = power supply). Check the service manual of the device. Then the next step would be measuring the voltages, it might be a transistor that is burnt (ex. +5V or -12V or whatever you have on your device)
Hi TKF, i have a Yamaha RX-V685. The receiver works perfectly, however, the VFD display is not coming on. If i look closely i can see the coils in the VFD are on. Sometimes the display comes but with weird signs and characters. I gave it to the Yamaha dealership and they said they need to replace the HDMI mother board. However, i borrowed a friend's Yamaha RX-V685 and connected my receiver's HDMI mother board to his receiver, and VFD works perfectly. And i connected his HDMI motherboard to my receiver and the same thing, no VFD. I suspect something to do with the power supply. It has a small power supply like in this video and the power leads from the transformer goes to the main big board. Please help me where could be the problem? should i check this small power supply or the main board where the transformer leads go to? Thank you.
Hi..I have a htr 465,but it is dead..when I plugged in ac,the 5v is coming from the power supply unit but it's dropped in mother board,& when I checked the supply input point, it's showing short by multimeter..I think the HDMI board is faulty.. what's ur suggestion??pls reply me..

That's why I'm searching any solution for service and fix the same board. One of my friend doing chiplevel has agreed the replace the IC if arrange an another one. Please help me.
Hi, I've htr3066. The front display keeps showing "bass bypass" or "trouble bypass". If I increase the value to .5 or 2, the diplay changes to "bass .5". It keeps displayed on the screen. Whne it happens no front panel switch works other than the power. Troubleshooting Reset the syste with "init" Removed all connections including speakers and sub, inputs etc No luck so far. Please advise
My friend, try to check connector strip going from front panel to main digital board, just replaced that with new one & still problem still persist then replace all front panel micro switches with new.

Thanks friend for your comment, all units does not have same ic problem, but if you want you can try replacing that ic. I would highly recommend if you are technician than only perform this. Otherwise show near your local YAMAHA service center. And my dear friend let me know from where are you from?

Sir mere paas Yamaha ka rxv 583 h usme power ki red light on ho rahi h but system on nhi ho raha power switch dabane se red blink karti lekin system on nhi hota uski relay pr power nhi aa rahi 5v koi solution batao or apna nmbr bhi do thanks
That is SMPS ic for generating stand by 5V for digital control Board, if after replacing ic also, no any volts is getting in secondary side of transformer, then some Electronic components might be defective, & if everything is ok in SMPS circuit then problem will be in digital control Board.
