Kia has quickly become a major player and some of the success is due to the Kia Optima which is part of a very competitive mid-sized sedan category. Prices start at $21,990 for the base LX trim up to $35,890 for the SXL Turbo model. The model tested here starts at $23,990
Now it is even more appealing in order to stand out from the crowd. First thing is the styling which includes a cool grille making the car very handsome. Under the hood is a 1.6 liter turbo 4-cylinder engine that makes 178 horsepower and 195 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy checks in at 28 MPG in the city and 39 MPG on the highway.

now it’s almost 2019 and the 2019 optimal are amazing looking. i want one! just put 108,000 on my 05 altima. bought it brand new. waiting a couple more years till i buy a new car or my transmission or engine craps out.
Nice review but the top model (2016 Kia Optima SXL) with all options doesn't go over $40K... in fact it's below $38K.

I love my kia 2016 optima lx!!! it's fast and just looks sexy!!!
How's it running now a days? Any issues?
My 16 had a wire harness go bad, fuel pump went out and brake line had a leak. Kia covered all the repairs and even paid for a rental car for me to drive. Other then that the car has really held up good at 72000 miles.
@@wilchambers1401 wow! But that's great they covered everything! That's why I'm interested in a Certified Kia or Hyundai (they seem to have the BEST & longest warranties) but honestly the fully loaded Optima stole my heart! Lol... So i hope i find one 🙂 Thanks

What's wrong with chrome wheels these days chrome looks very classy in moderation of course.
Most Kia & Hyundai interiors look the same. That horizontal big button look.

Peter Schreyer, the designer for Kia, designed the Audi TT and other models for Audi.
Kias designer used to work for Audi lol
