where have the good times gone? this brings me back to the christmas where i woke up early and unwrapped my 3ds and pokemon x. Where has the timelessness of life gone?
It was 2013. You wake up to a new 3DS, and a new Pokémon game. I played mine all Christmas morning. Viola is the only gym leader I can remember ever losing to (Tbf I was 10). I didn’t understand infestation I guess. I got stuck at Camphier Town, the one with the Snorlax road and the mansion. I found my first shiny on Route 7, a gulpin horde. When I left my team was level 60s. I steamrolled the rest of the game. What a weird first adventure, an adventure I had long awaited.

I really wish I had begged my parents harder so I could have gotten a 3DS and finding out what Pokemon was by getting X.. it makes me pretty sad how many are so fond of X and Y. I really feel left out.. though, I'm pretty excited to see kalos again, as X and Y are my favorite as I had played it recently for the first time via citra.
Oh how i miss these days i hope they keep the music for the newer Z&A i miss falling asleep to the most beautiful games and waking up to see i left it on

Been listening to this for a while, hoping it gets a remake, guess how surprising it was to find out that it was getting a Lengends spin to it. I just kinda hope they remake the games. I never really played pokemon XY back then, so reading that so many people's first pokemon game was X and Y really made me feel left out when I was a child. I really wish I had gotten my parents to give me a 3DS and Pokemon X...
Pokémon x was my first Pokémon game ! I’ve never really been into the franchise until 2014 and when I got my braces one my mom bought me the 3ds with the game 🥲 I remember being in a lot of pain the first week but fortunately I had a new game to soothe my suffering lol 😊 now I feel so old I can’t believe I’m already twenty 😭
I am crying too. In a few weeks I will be 18. I love Pokemon XY and Anime most. You should rewatch pokemon XY anime which is what I just did (It was even better now watching thorough the series a second time). Now time for Japanese DUB Later! What great childhood memories this gives!

I've been playing Pokemon since gen 1 and I have to say that Anistar City is easily a top 3 town theme in the entire series. X/Y in general definitely has the most underrated ost of the main series.
pokemon x & y wasn't my first pokemon game but i can definitely say it's the one i look back on the most fondly :'] i miss it, i wish i could play it for the first time again. genuinely the last pokemon game with a fully solid ost, imho.

Gen 6 was the peak of Pokémon for me. It was my second to last year of High school when XY came out. My family could finally afford internet and I got to play Pokémon online and get mystery gifts for the first time without going to the library to use the internet there. I had so much fun on wonder trade, shiny hunting and battling with my friends over Skype. The PSS was insanely well designed too

I think the music in xy is what really captures the feel of Kalos. It's such a good mix of ancient and mystical sounds with the excitement and sense of adventure every pokemon game needs. It brings me so many fond memories and such a rush that most osts dont give me. The beginning of snowbelle city always gives me chills. It's just such a perfect soundtrack for the game and region. Edit: my first edit disappeared :( Anyway, i was gushing about how good this ost is and i really like how you lined it up for this mix, everything fades into one another really well. Great job! EDIT AGAIN: I FORGOT TO MENTION HOW MUCH THE FRIENDS SONG REPRISE MAKES ME WANT TO CRY i seriously love it so much. And emotion/unwavering too?? I love bw, so the fact that they reused that one beautiful song at such a key part of the story was just. Perfection.

Hello! I was searching for relaxing music to listen to and found this. And now I have the urge to play XY again. As Pokemon X and Y was my first game it is naturally the game I tend to go to for nostalgia, whether that's music or just playing the game. This is a good compilation of all the great music in XY. "Vaniville Town", "Serena/Calem's Theme" (not in the video), Kiseki (Not in the video) "FIN" and "An Unwavering Heart X and Y" somehow make me feel Safe, Sad and Nostalgic even though i never played Y and Y (or in fact any of the other Games) and i've only watched Gameplay of it. Still these two Games, their Region, their Characters and their Story mean so much to me.
I remember the day i got this game, it was my first video game ever. Now its like 14 years old, and im 18 years old. Time flies, pokemon will never recreate this experience
The first "big jump" for the series that made me so excited. I wasn't working at the time so I didn't have enough money (I had part of it) to get it and my best friend at the time who lived in Italy (very far from me) who was a HUGE Pokemon guy with his brother sent me 10 euros so I could complete the purchase, ended up getting Y. I remember when we were transferring some Pokemon that I wanted from him that we could talk via voice chat through the 3DS system and it was mindblowing to me how I was able to talk to him as if we were on a phone call. Sending Pokemon online while we were miles and miles and miles away and talking like that it was just surreal and such a good memory that I will never forget. The game itself I really liked overall but I had my gripes. First one the EXP share made the game so easy that I remember letting the Elite Four leader kill some of my Pokemons on purpose so it could get "interesting" which was a real letdown. I play very casually, beat it once or two and then move on. Get my team, see them evolve and that's it but if I'm not challenged in a game it just get boring for me. Anyway thank you for sharing this. I haven't liked the games since Sun and Moon and haven't played the Switch ones either. Scarlet and Violet seem like another small step in the right direction but it feels like they take one small step every few years and are stuck in the past with the formula, not even talking about the performance and the mess with bugs we have seen but the game design. I love seeing the Pokemon actually roaming around and battling in real time so that's a pro at least. One thing I don't like though is how extremely tiny they are and even Pokemon that are supposed to be huge are basically your height which puts me off. We have seen really beautiful games with beautiful 3D models (and their size being more like what you would expect) in not mainline games like Snap or even Stadium, how is that the mainline games struggle so much still, you would think all the efforts would be put into them but alas.

XY are underrated, and you did great with this comp! Last pokemon game I was excited for before release, maybe residual hype from gen5 being gen5... and new hype for 3d pokamanz.... i think XY and ORAS aged way better than SM. Just aint the same walking around with no Dpad option.
I'm also coming here from persona music comps, & some of these tracks are very reminiscent of personas style. I didn't timestamp it but theres one with organ/keyboard and strings that really made me think it was deliberate lol

I went through my Pokémon games yesterday just to see that I lost my Pokémon x AND y games, and I spent the most time I’ve spent on any game on Pokémon X😭 I also lost Pokémon Diamond but I have platinum still so it’s okay.
This feels weird to say but I was only like 9 when I played these games and I liked playing them so much I bought X and Y and beat pokemon X like 8 times over the course of a year. But hearing this music I oddly don’t feel much nostalgia at all. With Diamond and Pearl as well as Black and White I do… but not with these games sadly.

"Vaniville Town", "Serena/Calem's Theme" (not in the video), Kiseki (Not in the video) "FIN" and "An Unwavering Heart X and Y" somehow make me feel Safe, Sad and Nostalgic even though i never played Y and Y (or in fact any of the other Games) and i've only watched Gameplay of it.
Still these two Games, their Region, their Characters and their Story mean so much to me.
X and Y town music hits different to me I mean all Pokemon music is great but man the every single town in these games hit different

I remember the day i got this game, it was my first video game ever. Now its like 14 years old, and im 18 years old. Time flies, pokemon will never recreate this experience
The first "big jump" for the series that made me so excited. I wasn't working at the time so I didn't have enough money (I had part of it) to get it and my best friend at the time who lived in Italy (very far from me) who was a HUGE Pokemon guy with his brother sent me 10 euros so I could complete the purchase, ended up getting Y. I remember when we were transferring some Pokemon that I wanted from him that we could talk via voice chat through the 3DS system and it was mindblowing to me how I was able to talk to him as if we were on a phone call. Sending Pokemon online while we were miles and miles and miles away and talking like that it was just surreal and such a good memory that I will never forget. The game itself I really liked overall but I had my gripes. First one the EXP share made the game so easy that I remember letting the Elite Four leader kill some of my Pokemons on purpose so it could get "interesting" which was a real letdown.
I play very casually, beat it once or two and then move on. Get my team, see them evolve and that's it but if I'm not challenged in a game it just get boring for me. Anyway thank you for sharing this. I haven't liked the games since Sun and Moon and haven't played the Switch ones either. Scarlet and Violet seem like another small step in the right direction but it feels like they take one small step every few years and are stuck in the past with the formula, not even talking about the performance and the mess with bugs we have seen but the game design. I love seeing the Pokemon actually roaming around and battling in real time so that's a pro at least. One thing I don't like though is how extremely tiny they are and even Pokemon that are supposed to be huge are basically your height which puts me off. We have seen really beautiful games with beautiful 3D models (and their size being more like what you would expect) in not mainline games like Snap or even Stadium, how is that the mainline games struggle so much still, you would think all the efforts would be put into them but alas.
You can turn XP Share off in the gen 6 games fortunately.

XY are underrated, and you did great with this comp! Last pokemon game I was excited for before release, maybe residual hype from gen5 being gen5... and new hype for 3d pokamanz.... i think XY and ORAS aged way better than SM. Just aint the same walking around with no Dpad option.
I'm also coming here from persona music comps, & some of these tracks are very reminiscent of personas style. I didn't timestamp it but theres one with organ/keyboard and strings that really made me think it was deliberate lol

Gen 5 to 6 was a big jump, and brought us mega evolution which I loved. I've personally last felt the hype for Pokemon ORAS but that's more for nostalgic reasons.

I went through my Pokémon games yesterday just to see that I lost my Pokémon x AND y games, and I spent the most time I’ve spent on any game on Pokémon X😭 I also lost Pokémon Diamond but I have platinum still so it’s okay.
This feels weird to say but I was only like 9 when I played these games and I liked playing them so much I bought X and Y and beat pokemon X like 8 times over the course of a year. But hearing this music I oddly don’t feel much nostalgia at all. With Diamond and Pearl as well as Black and White I do… but not with these games sadly.
I kinda understand what you mean. I love the music but don't exactly feel nostalgia for it either despite having played the game at launch.
