I totally love the innovation in this project. Looks a great improvement over the normal setup. As for people digging you out about flip flops who are there and who cares about them. If you are happy go with it. Great content 👍🇬🇧
I'm opposite, I prefer to make mine out of wood than buy one of aluminum. I do see value in just being able to buy something and get to work, but I'm too picky about my tools. It is a pretty big time investment (8ish hours for mine initially, including mounting brackets) but not crazy. I could build a new set to replace them tomorrow in under 3 hours probably and more times than not there's left over materials from jobs so cost is further reduced. Mine are 12"wx60"lx2"tall lock together for storage.I can set up/tear down my saw and wings in under 5 mins most days provided I can park close. I like that mine are exactly how I want them so I'm willing to spend a bit more time. Never weighed them but maybe 20-30lbs, not light but not what I'd call heavy. Mine clamp right to the saw with no tools and lock solid, I also store clamps and cut list holder between. I use the dewalt stand and don't have any additional supports integral to the wings, but I do have the ones dewalt sells that go to the ground but almost never feel like i need them. The length is fine for cutting most trim even tall base or crown in position If I'm cutting MDF crown I'll usually get the roller stand(s) out as it droops a lot and can be annoying. With wood I can easily modify them to suit my needs. Aluminum has its pro's over wood, mainly they'll likely stay straighter longer if not forever and they'll last your whole career so long as no one steals them.
I would think it would be far easy to clearance the support fence for your customer saw fence. Zip, zip with the cut wheel done. That way short pieces would have support since that saw has a tiny base. Admittedly what you did looks great though.

Awesome video! Two questions: how do you like the Milwaukee 10" miter saw? What miter saw stand are you using? Thanks again!

Good job man I like
I would work in my boxer too but the saw dust and I don't want to end up in the hospital whilst wearing a boxer lol
nice job bro
I weld barefoot so I get it.
I hate having to finish making someone else's tool. Nice job though.
