Dexter and Victor would hold the next 2-4 titles, depending on Ronnie's last title year. Let's say Jay's first Olympia is 2009 instead of 1999- he'd be aiming at Dexter and Victor, but he'd have a serious time beating out Kai, Branch, Wolf, and maybe a couple other guys.... If he gets past, he is NOT a clear winner over Phil!!!! You also have to consider him earning his pro card- he probably has a more difficult time/a longer time to become pro. Also, does he get that big when the mass era is ending???? Ronnie and Jay pushed each other after Ronnie's 3rd/4th title, so Ronnie possibly never gets over 275 if Jay doesn't exist in his era- if this happens, there's a butterfly effect, and there's nomreal reason for Jay to be over 245-250.... he always talks about Shawn, Flex and Lee Priest as his inspirations- obviously he has a large frame, but he more than likely would've focused on shape. If Jay is a smaller bodybuilder, and Phil already arrived as a 1/2 time Olympia Champ, the judges wouldn't make Jay the champion, but for maybe 1 time!!!! Once a competitor becomes champ, it's hard to knock them off, even if they don't look their best.... Jay's attraction was his size, natural-wide structure, and his attention to detail- he never had the hardness/grainy texture of other bodybuilders, and his gut and waist is too big for the guys after Ronnie!!!!

I think a lot of people may not know that Ronnie is 9 years older than Jay. Of course Jay didn't give up, he knew time would catch up to Ronnie. That's not to take anything away from Jay, he was amazing both when he won and when he finished second. But both him, his coach and Ronnie knew that it was only a matter of time before he would win the title.
I think it's because the darker color makes the muscles look more visible, or it could be to help cover up stretch marks, scars, etc. but I could be wrong
