Lack of Preventative Maintenance. Great Job Steve. Miss Molly Approves.
Last year I purchased a 175 year old stone Converted schoolhouse cottage, And it has a Weil-McLain hot water Oil Furnace That was installed in 1994, And it is still kicking 🔥 I want a new one, Just can't afford it now
Why does she need a new boiler if it's not leaking and works. Just wondering.
I had to do some drywall next to my tank and I was so paranoid of stepping or hitting the filter/nipple I built a little cover to go over it while I was doing it.
Looks like you are back ,ready to get it for heating season, good luck with the truck.
Crusty, indeed! Reminds me of when I was running biodiesel in the truck. The microbes *love* that stuff!
Good job Steve, She's crusty for sure, hey Miss Molly!
Hey Steve and Miss Molly! Workin’ again y’all. 👍👍
Tossing in a comment about this one there Steven. From here in nahampsha. Yea... Not gonna lie. This "SMITH" is exactly the same one in my basement. I think the Carlin Burner that I've got is from the 1960"s. This boiler looks BRAND NEW compared to mine. I am celebrating. because I've got every pipe ~ every connection off the old boiler and have a line up of new one inch and one and a quarter inch for my Brand New Buderus Boiler and two Brand New Taco's. The overhead sending gets just "moved over" and "plugged in" (new expansion tank), and then a new receiving manifold with some parts from the old Smith including electrical and two Taco's for the four zone system. One of the 'sending" parts (to the "mega-store") comes right off of the back of the Buderus. (an e-bay Riello burner looks good.) ~~~ Gonna be nice I'll tell ya. I will be happy to just stash that Old Smith boiler out in the back yard. ~~~. Yep ~~~ Gonna be nice. (Meanwhile it's wood heat for me.). Oh well. Best wishes and thanks so much for sharing all that you do! ✨🙏✨
This will be the season for heavy bio... Fah la la
Another kick ass video Steve, way to go! Keep them video's coming 💯☝️
Oh yea. I had to take the door off completely and heat up the view port to loosen the brass screws holding it in place. Took some penetrating oil and whacks with a three pound hammer. But once loose it works well. ~~~ That was last December when I discovered the leak in the back of the (on demand) water heater part of the boiler. ~~~ Tried everything ~~ couldn't get it to blow clean into the chimney. I must have cleaned it out three times and the Carlin Burner everything I tell ya. I gave up with my "plumber" on the phone.~~ Spent the whole Summer getting that Buderus into the basement. Eventual "slide" was safe and worked well. Sitting on four eight inch solid blocks. Gonna be nice. ! ✨ 💥 🙏 💥 ✨
Heating season is here again Steve!
Oil Heat is a lot Hotter than Propane, but it sure does stink a lot more.
Crusty filter. I like the drop in the nozzle size.
Im not a furnace tech but that furnace didnt look too bad to me. With the cost today to replace, Ide run it into the ground.
Howdy Steve and Molly
I think My Oil Furnace in My old house used to be a gallon and 3/4 per hour. It emptied the tank in a few days.
Good afternoon Steve
Hi Steve funny as always! couple screws loose is rite! ;)
I love your videos but are FB4s a new England thing. The only time in nj we see them are on old equipment and I mean OLD. 1A25 or 2a700 are the norm and new stuff is a Gerber with a loop. It is funny how different areas use different equipment. Honeywell vs white-rodgers etc
I wonder if an impact wrench would have loosened those screws I do realize it was a tight area.......good job as always
Yeah maybe so, a little penetrating oil first may help also
Thx Steve.
Hello Steve!
Hello Steve.
Another great video Steve. Thank you. Wow, she's a crusty one. Looks like the HVAC calls will be winding down as the heating season approaches.

@@TheBigbass13 , good point. I was thinking about just the cooling part.
Why didn’t you break out the testo and adjust the burner that way? You used to do that all the time two years ago. You taught me a lot with that machine
That was like playing poker in the blind.
Steve is it normal to have on a aquastat relay Honeywell to have a wire on C1 for the circulator and no wire on C2 connector for the circulator
You really know your shit.
so for this season you have pulled off 2 or 3 really slimmy filters ... is that due to the Bio- fuel they are pushing ???
Fuel oil decomposes and breaks down especially sitting in a old tank, has nothing to do with bio fuel, its filthy nasty stuff to work with that makes a mess of everything
Hey Steven, do you do all your work in the Dahtmuth area? I grew up in Cohasset, once known as the little snot by the sea.
Well it not the space shuttle
That oil filter looked like like a tumor!
😄
She’s a little crusty mamma! Lol
I wish You could have heard the motor whine on My ex Wife's Parents Trailer. It was horrible. I don't know how they slept in there.
That filter looked like that bio fuel shit, she must lose prime all the time without tiger loop at burner, another call for later
