What was the overall size of the wire you used to allow for the hardware? For example, if the dogs head measurement was 13 inches, did you add an extra 3.5 inches to make the string 16.5 total? Thanks so much
How do you get the wire to not fray & make sure the clamps are tight enough?!? I went through so much wire and so many clamps because I kept fraying it and then I couldn’t seem to get the clamps crimped tight enough ):
Make sure you’re using the heavy duty actual tool for the crimping, jewelry pliers will not work. I haven’t had any problems with fraying except the cut end which we cover with the clamp and rubber stopper so nothing is exposed in anyway.
@@abcbeadsupply I got the crimper from Home Depot but I went ahead & ordered the one you recommended instead. And then as far as the fraying, it’s making it difficult for me to thread it through the clamp so that’s the issue I’m having with it. It frays so bad at the cut end I can’t feed it through , and then I stab a million holes in my thumbs
@@abcbeadsupply I bought those from your blog post so I’m using the same ones. But I may have gotten a defective tool. I’ll keep trying, thank you for your responses!
We have it linked in the Blog Post here: www.abcbeadsupply.com/blogs/abc-bead-supply-blog/now-available-beaded-dog-collar-supplies No, jewelry crimp pliers will not work, these are a really heavy gauge
