Thank you so much for this video! I recently lost my father and this was our first year trying to make do with out him. Your detailed instructions helped me set up my camper for the first time since he left us ❤️
Hey, your not alone. Same thing here. Thank goodness for youtube and modern tech and the ppl who are kind enough to video this type of stuff and post it for everyone here. I went to all the forums looking for information about my particular model, only to read a thread like this...IDK why anyone would need a manual, I can't think of anything that isn't self explanatory. It was of course an experienced man, who already knew what he was doing and a lady merely asked if anyone knew where she could get an owners manual. I really thought that was rude. I don't see what the guy meant by everything being self explanatory, because you have a gas system, electrical system etc...helps to know about the fuse box and all those things many women do not usually deal with. I was glad I wasn't registered so I could post, or I'd have laid into that man lol.
Thank you. I recently bought a used 92 Skamper pop up. I've never owned a pop up. I merely had to watch the man take it down, connect it to my truck and I pulled it home, where it's sat ever since. Only a week or two lol. Only because the trailer wouldn't release from my truck, so out of desperation, I disconnected the hitch from the truck and left the towball and tongue, still stuck to the trailer lol. I have some metal to metal lubricant and a rubber mallet, but going to have my brother come by and use his muscle power. It was a brand new ball and I did not grease it first. Plus it wasn't exactly low enough, so the pressure made it next to impossible to disconnect. I want that taken care of first, then I will attempt to raise the thing. I desperately needed a refresher from what I witnessed a couple of weeks ago. THANK YOU.
So glad we got the model that has a whole door that just swings down and gets attached. The half door stores under the back bunk end. Funny how we had to point that out to the sales guy when he was showing us how to fold it up. You folks on You Tube have shown us a lot, which is great, since I'm a visual learner. Manuals do nothing for me.😏 So thank you, and all you others!
Thank you, this was helpful . This is the same model of pop up that I just bought. The only difference I see is that mine doesn't have Velcro for the ends. It has stretch cord that goes around the little pulleys that I see are still under your camper.
I wish I'd seen this when we first got our popup. It's old (?1978?) and had no owner's manual. We finally figured it out but it's still a continuous work in progress to make the needed repairs. Do you have a video on putting up the awning? We had it out of the bag one time and decided it was just too much trouble. Now I'm thinking we just need good instructions. Thanks again for the video.
I currently do not have an awning for ours. What I ended up doing is going to Walmart and bought a 10X10 easy up canopy for like $49.00. It's easy to set-up and works pretty good for what we use it for.
Juat bought a pop up... everything went great but we can't get to door to shut... the tabs at top won't line up to go through holes to lock in place... Suggestions?
Sometimes it takes a little wiggling around and possibly not making the sides or roof so tight on the tent camper while you are trying to put the camper door in place. Hope this helps you out.
I have the same trailer but its in a bit rougher shape. Needs a new canvas, it no longer attaches to the door. The door needs new pins. Also, on mine it has 4 supports on the front bed, 2 are like a v or u shape.
bearcreekcanvas.com/ Jayco usually posts what model you have on the outside. Mine is a 86(soon to be a flatbed trailer) and it proudly proclaims its a 1006SG Deluxe by the door. Mostly they just need the measurements if you know the exact year there were only a few models for each make.
buy a BAL leveler ..adust ,first with the tounge jack to levei the length ,put leve] lunder the wheel and ratchet up till level ,,its a magic and best bit of pop up kit ,,when perfectly level the trailer is rock solid .one wheel off the ground ,and stabilzers should never be used to level trailer ..good luck
Hopefully, you already got a reply on this. The tongue jack in the front is used to level the popup. You can break the stabilizers if you try to force the popup level with them. Stabilizers are meant only for 'stabilizing' the unit once it's level.
Ok I got a 99 viking I got it up now I need to take it down and I'm not sure how to do it I tried to let it down the same way I put it up but it wont go the opposite way so is there a lach to let it down
I have a 92 Jayco Jay Series we just purchased that doesn't have the support poles for the beds. Can anybody tell me how long the front and back poles are so I can make some?
I no longer have this particular pop up. If you looking for year on yours, there should be a plate with this information and a serial number on it somewhere.
On the edge of the table there should be a channel, that fits into a channel on the trailer. That will hold the table up, then you can put the leg down on the table. Let me know if this helps you out.
It worked! We just got this from a family friend and I've never owned or been in one. What's the extra table looking piece for? It has the same kind of slide in bracket but no table leg just another smaller slide in bracket underneath it. It looks like the kind of bracket that the beds have....
tyler laird Jeeze, not sure. Usually on the table beds, there's typically either a table leg that folds down to prop the table up, or some tables have a pole under the table that goes into a cup on the floor and also into a cup under the table.
I think it goes outside by the door maybe? But there is also a connecter for something under where it would sit. Looks like gas or water or something..... Can the stove be put right there?

So nostalgic. As a kid I spend 4 summers at the beach in one of these.
We had a lot of fun in this pop up

Hi what model and year is this one? Thank you 🙏
I haven't had this camper for years, I believe it was a 1986
Nice camper!! What make is it??
It's a 1992 14' Jayco Popup camper. I bought it used for 600.00 last year, it's in really good shape.
I have the same trailer but its in a bit rougher shape. Needs a new canvas, it no longer attaches to the door. The door needs new pins. Also, on mine it has 4 supports on the front bed, 2 are like a v or u shape.

I think it would be easier setting up a tent from watching this
These popup trailer aren't that bad at all.Plus you're off the ground unlike a tent.
Thanks. This is a very helpful video.

Anyone know the name of the tabs you twist to release the door from the ceiling? Trying to find them with no luck.
Not sure what they would be called.
I know in the beginning you said but to crank it all the way up. At what point do you finish cranking it?
You should finish cranking it when the roof is fully raised and you can put the tent trailer sides in place.
we just purchased this same camper 1992 jayco and looking to replace the canvas but not sure what the make is of this camper is do you have any idea?
iam trying also to buy the canvas its a sticker added inside of the canvas itself
bearcreekcanvas.com/ Jayco usually posts what model you have on the outside. Mine is a 86(soon to be a flatbed trailer) and it proudly proclaims its a 1006SG Deluxe by the door. Mostly they just need the measurements if you know the exact year there were only a few models for each make.
Sorry for late response just noticed this question.
thanks a lot. just got my 1st pop up, Can the stabilizers also be used to level the popup?
buy a BAL leveler ..adust ,first with the tounge jack to levei the length ,put leve] lunder the wheel and ratchet up till level ,,its a magic and best bit of pop up kit ,,when perfectly level the trailer is rock solid .one wheel off the ground ,and stabilzers should never be used to level trailer ..good luck

They are really there to stabilize the camper
I have the same camper, it’s good and I like it but the door latch is missing, can I buy a new one or is there a way to fix it?
You should be able to buy one online.
Ok I got a 99 viking I got it up now I need to take it down and I'm not sure how to do it I tried to let it down the same way I put it up but it wont go the opposite way so is there a lach to let it down

Love the accent! Is it a Boston?
Yeah not far from there. Have a great holiday season!
Dang why can I not find a video that shows the underneath bed poles and how to place the canopy over the beds.
Watch the entire video it shows all of this
crank it up like this "its as easy as that".....My first attempt and the trailer gear box snaps. goddammit
oh boy..sorry to hear that
I have a 92 Jayco Jay Series we just purchased that doesn't have the support poles for the beds. Can anybody tell me how long the front and back poles are so I can make some?
Did you look under the mattresses on the slide out beds. That's usually where they get stored
No, I never thought of that, I will check.... thanks
I just went out and looked, lo and behold, there they are!!! Thanks for the info, two times now!!
The only thing I don’t like is the plywood if change it from that particle board to sold piece of wood.
Thanks for watching our pop up camper video.

Yeah you should’ve raised the roof all the way first and put your post stabilizers in place.

What year is that, if I may ask?
I no longer have this particular pop up. If you looking for year on yours, there should be a plate with this information and a serial number on it somewhere.
Is that a Jersey Accent or New York
New Hampshire
How do you set up the table? We can't figure it out. :(
On the edge of the table there should be a channel, that fits into a channel on the trailer. That will hold the table up, then you can put the leg down on the table. Let me know if this helps you out.

tyler laird yup there are 2 connectors outside by the door the short one is for the table and the long one is for the stove. ;-)
