Glad you take the time and effort to make these videos so folk can see how much it takes to restore tools. I explain to people what I have done to bring a tool back to life but I don't think they usually get it. Certainly sellers don't get it when I tell them what needs to be done or maybe they just don't care.

Thanks. Yeah a lot of folks don't appreciate the kind of work that goes into bringing some of these tools back to life. But I keep trying.

Looks good Tony. Lot of effort put into cleaning up that old chisel.
I have a few in the drawer waiting for me to put some time in on them.
    None quite that rough though.

I've been staying away from the real basket cases any more, unless they are worth the effort. I have a Beatty slick on the bench that overall isn't too bad, but the end of the socket is banged up a bit. Thanks Dave!

Interesting video… you covered just about everything a person should not do to remove rust from old steel! A vintage tool needing restoration is in grave danger in your hands. Please try to not ruin any more antique tools.

Oh really? And how would you do it? Dip it in some kind of acid solution??? I've been restoring tools for 30 years now and have 30;000 of them under my belt so to speak. How many have you done???
