So Brother Bobby, the verse you recited at around 7:00 is referring to the followers of Jesus, Moses and the other messengers. Those who believed in their true message of monotheism at their time and died upon that while doing good then they will be rewarded by Allah. It does not apply to majority of Christians and Jews today since majority don’t practice what the Prophets that came to them at the time told them to do nor do they even have the basic monotheistic beliefs regarding God
As for your other question about saying the shahada and how it’s not necessarily a “get out of jail free card,” you’re partially correct
In Islam simply saying the shahada is not enough. There needs to be some level of action, which is why the consensus Of the early Muslim generation (the companions of the Prophet ﷺ) is that those who don’t pray are considered disbelievers because their testimony is meaningless without it. As one very early Muslim scholar from the first two centuries said, the shahada is the key to paradise but a key is useless without its teeth” There are conditions to the shahada and you need to fulfill them for it to be a useful key
In Islam there are some actions that will take you out of the fold of Islam even if you say the shahada, like as you mentioned bowing to a statue of Buddha or for example bowing to a grave or worshipping around the grave or calling onto anyone other than Allah etc, and there are other things such as blaspheming against Allah or His messenger, and other acts that will remove you right away from Islam. Because those actions are in direct contradiction to the statement of shahada
However there are other actions that are not as bad and are considered to be sins but do not take you out of the fold of Islam . Within this category there are major and minor sins. Major sins include things such as murder, fornication, drinking intoxicants, and any other sim that in the Quran or the Hadith threaten the one involved with punishment , and minor sins are things like for example frowning in the face of a Muslim brother and other smaller acts of unkindness. In this life as long as you repent Allah will forgive you, but if you die while not having repented from them then that’s a different story. With these sins on the day of judgement several things could happen. On that day the scales are placed and the actions are weighed, if the righteous deeds outweigh the sins then you will go to paradise, (Albeit a lower level than someone who’s more righteous). If sins and good deeds are equal then these are what are referred to as the people of A’araf (which is the name of the surah #7) and they await till all the righteous enter paradise and then ask Allah for His Mercy and He grants it to them and let’s them enter paradise. The last group are the ones who’s sins outweigh their good deeds. These people are under Allah’s will, if He wants He can forgive them immediately and enter them into paradise immediately (for example those who’s sins are only slightly more than their good deeds), and others will go to hell and stay there for a time until their sins are purified, but if they do believe in the shahada then Allah will eventually remove them from hell and enter them into paradise. At that point the disbelievers who refused to say the shahada will wish they were the sinning believers as Allah says in chapter 15 verse 2.

I think when brothers say don't wait to take Shahada, I think they're saying "IF" you recognize it to be true then don't wait because you can die tomorrow. In my journey, I didn't take that advice although I was convinced, and ALLAH taught me a lesson. It's a long story but in the end ALLAH showed me that all the brothers that told me not to wait were right. Alhamdulillah
Yes, Allah knows best, in my opinion in this Internet era nowadays, there is no excuse in the Hereafter to say I haven't heard anything about Islam. Only ignorants can deny. We can always improve ourselves, we are all sinners, but we seek Allah's Mercy and Forgiveness, and it's really really important to die as muslim..

The reason why he push people to take shahada as soon as possible because he had a clear picture about islam and all his doubts are clear but if he does not take shahada at that time then we all know what will happened next , the whispers of shatan will start and he will be astray from the straight path again and new doubts will arise in his mind and maybe he would start doubting islam and maybe he will never ever be able to take shahada and become Muslim.
Dr Zakir Naik didn't pressure him at all.He knew from his experience that this man is ready to take sahada but shaytan is taking hold on him. Moreover Dr Naik helped him to enter a new holy life.

Quran Surat Al Imran ayat 19 and 85 clearly said that only religion of islam is accepted by Allah, and those who seek religion other than islam their deeds will not be accepted.

Believing in One God could only be enough if no prophet came to you with a message. That verse refers to people who lived at that time and believed in their prophet's message. Today, our message is the Quran and if you deny it when it has come to you, you will not be rewarded in the next life. This is the Islamic belief.

There are three levels:
Basic premise is Believe in God which implies that you have to believe in the day of judgement.
1. You have never received any message at all.
2. You are people of Book
3. You are Muslims
All of the above can go to Jannah based on their situation, keep in mind Allah has created all of us. He is fair and just. He will treat all of us equally based on our situations.
1. They can also go to Jannah as long as they don’t lie to themselves meaning started believing in false God/s. And believe only in one true god. Remember they have not received the message.
2. People of book if they believe in one god and believed in their prophets. Same people should not have denied Muhammad (Pbuh) if they lived in his era.
3. Muslims who got the book and believed in one God and Muhammad pbuh. Remember even Muslims will not be spared if the indulged in any Shirk.
That’s my understanding of Quran.

Prophet never interpreted the Qur'an nor did the sahabees. Sunnah/Sharia is what you are thinking of, which is man made. Qur'an is God's word and is not open to interpretation whatsoever, not even by prophet. So what Qur'an says is absolute, nothing supersedes the Qur'an.

Bobby, you misunderstood the ayah you presented. Read Tafsir Ibn Kathir on it. it's about those Jews before Isa alayhi salam and those Christians before Muhammad ﷺ. If one rejects the prophet Muhammad ﷺ but believes in Allah ﷻ alone, how can he possibly have any reward with Allah ﷻ when he indirectly didn't believe in Allah ﷻ alone by rejecting the signs he brought forth e.g. Quran, miracles of Muhammad ﷺ.
Also in Surah al-Imran Allah ﷻ says that whoever follows another religion but Islam, never will it be accepted from them.
The Christian you mentioned who "accepts" Muhammad ﷺ as a prophet, doesn't accept him at all. If he truly believed he was a messenger of God, of Allah ﷻ, then he would follow him. When he brings the Quran and the Quran says that you have to follow the messenger ﷺ, can you say "No, I don't have to?". This is clear-cut disbelief

For real. This is what i usually heard and saw most non-muslims did nowadays especially those who says i believe in powerful being/God but i don't have to take/follow the religion to believe. Brother Booby there are two points you are missing.
1- In every religion that come before Islam and specially in Ibrahimic Religions their Prophets ( Alaihi Salam) told their nations about the coming of The Last Prophet(PBUH), so by following their Prophets (Alaihi Salam), they have to Accept Islam and follow the Prophet Mohammad(PBUH)
2- There is a universal principal In Ibrahimic Religions (According to Islam) that you must follow the Prophet of that time and Prophet Mohammad(PBUH) is the prophet of the current time till the end.

The period of the the law (Old Covenant) and the prophets therefore ENDED with John the Baptist. John the Baptist was the LAST PROPHET. There was no prophet that would ever come AFTER John the Baptist.
John the Baptist is the messenger spoken of in the book of Isaiah 40:3-5 who would PREPARE THE WAY OF GOD. God would be coming to the world in the form of flesh (as a man)-as Jesus.
Jesus said, "Then what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and MORE THAN A PROPHET. This is the one about whom it is written: “ ‘I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.’ (Matthew 11:9-10)

Hubal was the Allah of the Kaaba.
Yes there was never any need for Muhammad or any other prophet AFTER John the Baptist and there would be no prophet to come after the Son/word of God:
'In the PAST God spoke to our ancestors through the PROPHETS at many times and in various ways, but in these LAST DAYS he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe" (Hebrews 1:1-2).
Don't let the Muslim scholars deceive you with their ridiculous claims about Deuteronomy 18:15, Songs of Solomon 5, Isaiah 29, Isaiah 42, John 14 and 16 or any other verse from scripture: they don't refer to Muhammad!

Just a correction, the verse about the believers from other religions refers to those before Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam and those after Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam to whom the message of Islam did not come and they did not do shirk.

People receive hidayah(guidance) in different ways brother, some like you need to understand the deen before taking the shahadah . Most reverts receive hidayah after they actually made the shahadah, like my bro in-law he converted but dont really understand the deen for marriage ,but understood later by the will of Allah. also as a born muslim ,growing up I used to see a lot of my muslim friends including myself doing all kind of haram things even tho we know the deen ,we are still tempted by these trials. That's what dr zakir meant by taking shahada and atleast get that 50% chance, and no Muslim except The Prophet Saw can say they follow 100% of the Quran.

Zakir Naik was trying to say that if you believe in basics that is allah is one and Prophet Mohammed PBUH than accept it and live the way you were living before , atleast its better than dying Without shahada and eternal Hellfire

Before commenting on the verses of Allah, it is better for the person to know the content of the verse that was sent and its reason, each verse of the Qur'an has its own content and reason. It is not open to us to interpret Allah's verses as we wish, it is always better to ask the scholars if we do not know.

True followers of Judaism ,Christianity, will have to follow Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) as well because it is mentioned very clearly in their scriptures about the coming of this mighty messenger.
That specific Quranic verse refers to true believers (Muslim-one who submitted their will to God)before Prophet Muhammad(PBUH)
But today we cannot say the same because for every person after the time of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) he is our prophet.Remember even if you reject one of the messengers you are NOT submitting your will to God.

If you are convinced of something just do it. Why waiting, shaitan is holding you back. You believe in Muhammed pbuh and you know there is only one God. You are literally a Muslim, shahada is just the formality then. I am born muslim and every day I learn something new. There are scholars who dedicate there lives on the Deen and still learning. @@abrahimy5841 doubts always exist even I get sudden doubts about certain matters even though I've been a muslim my whole life, but Islam always has an answer. The main parts of the deen are what matter in the end. I get where you are all coming from though, you wanna be sure you accept something that you believe is true and stick to it. So there needs to be a middle ground between both sides, where you don't take too long but also don't rush things.
i want shahada to be authentic when i do it. i want to be prepared to be able to get through ramadan, by conquering all my addictions first, and believe in my heart all the things that the shahada represents, before taking shahada.
when Bobby first started his search for meaning on youtube back when he was still orthodox christian and struggling with accepting some things in the christian tradition, he said something that stuck with me: "i cannot convince myself to believe something my heart does not believe". I am still waiting for that time and if Allah truly wants me to believe then he will make me believe it in my heart. Until then I am keeping an open mind and continuing my search, just like Bobby did.
