My problem is the opposite; light until setting 10. I think the error is in how we wound the wire on the motor spindle. There’s a specific method. Try calling Octane service. I found them helpful pre-install.
My Octane Q37e Servo Motor is not getting power signal to motor. I replaced it with a new one $29 plus $31.07 for shipping $60 USA which was $88 out of my pocket. and the Servo Motor turned out to be faulty.. But when tested the motor with a 9 volt battery the motor turned on but I only got a loud ticking sound going repeated from level 1 to 2. I then tried the other Servo Motor and it just was continuous rotation. Just wondering why the Elliptical did not power up the Servo Motor in the first place? I was not getting any resistance levels working due to Servo Motor not working.Octane support told me with my make and model number my machine being 15 yrs. old that the parts were more expansive. Circuit Board $400 but if I purchased the Circuit Board as well and the display panel it was $272 USA. Besides that this elliptical has no hand held heart monitors on the grips but it came with a chest strap. thank you for your response. if i purchase the suggested parts I will then have $1750 tied up in this machine. it has been a big headache ever since I brought it home. I know if I tried to sell it for the cost I will have it I would never sell lit. so I would except a $250 loss selling it for $1500 and purchase a newer model with cheaper parts. I emailed Octane support asking that if I purchase the suggested parts will they wavier the shipping fees that is only $31.07. My integrity wont allow me to sell a none functional machine. I think the guy I purchased this machine lost his integrity. Just based on all the good reviews I had heard and the follow stating it was a fine machine. once I seen it powered up I assumed everything worked fine so I asked him and he replied yes.
They sent me a 2008 key pad and a 2006 circuit board which cost me $515 Canadian and when it arrived I had to pay and additional $137.to receive the package. the invoice states a 2008 keypad and 2008 circuit board. I noticed the functions are not compatible.
It seems highly unlikely that both the board and the motor was bad. Sounds like when car shops would sell women a voltage regulator and an alternator. It's one or the other.
Can you make it go up in resistance by loosening the cable?

Sorry to hear of your troubles. A dozen Octane ellipticals are used at my gym, and are robust.

The ArmBlaster now works fine, so apparently the problem was the circuit board.
