- The Hyderabad police have registered an FIR against K Madhavi Latha, the BJP candidate for Hyderabad, following allegations that she offended the sentiments of the Muslim community. The complaint stemmed from a widely circulated video showing Latha gesturing to shoot an arrow towards a place of worship during a Ram Navami procession on April 17.
According to the complainant, this action by Latha caused offense to the Muslim community. Police confirmed the initiation of legal proceedings against Latha based on the complaint. This incident has sparked controversy and drawn attention to the sensitivity surrounding religious sentiments in the political sphere.
The complaint was lodged by a 38-year old Shaik Imran, and the Hyderabad police have taken action against the BJP candidate K Madhavi Latha for allegedly making derogatory gestures and remarks towards the Muslim community.
