Made me chuckle listening to the manchester city centre driving, im from manchester and i hate driving in the centre with all these tram lines! Its worse at night when it rains, you cant even see the tram rails !
When you are recently past I think the best plan is to cruise at 60 mph. You can speed up or slow down to adjust your position along the carriageway or speed up and move out if necessary. Not all these options are available if you cruise at 70 mph.
Travis, I watched videos when I was learning and now passed. You explain things simply and in such a way they help so many and your experience is invaluable.
Every time I’m on the motorway, there’s always two slower moving vehicle, one in the left lane and one in the middle…at least there’s a right lane to overtake but they seem to indicate and pull out without mirror checking
Thank you so much, I think it’s an emergency diversion sign (a black shape on a yellow background), sometimes colours don’t show up very clearly on UA-cam for some reason, also, some tunnels have just 1 solid white line in the middle of the road which isn’t even mentioned in the Highway Code, does that mean that you’re allowed to cross the single solid white line or do they have the same restrictions as double white lines where the line closest to you is solid?
Great driving instruction and practical advice on motorway driving. Do you have any advice on using cruise control if the car is equipped with one? Thanks
Can u make video on any best portable satnav that accurately shows speed in MPH as uk is all about mph and how good they are in showing speeds limit roads and signals God bless you ❤
I would move to the right lane behind the car and hopefully they will get the idea that they are driving too slow and move to the left so you can overtake. Here is the rule from the highway code. Rule 268 Highway code Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake. In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake.
@@JamesTravis With all due respect James, that doesn't answer the question. On a motorway, If I'm doing 65mph in lane 1 and lane 2 is moving slower, is it legal for me to pass on left? Rule 268 is a "Do Not" rule.
@@JohnFarrell-bc8gt it is one of the grey areas of rules of the road. It is frowned upon to undertake because of the danger of other drivers not expecting it from the left. But like you read on the rule, it is not saying do not. But if by doing so you were involved in an accident things could go against you.
I’m only frustrated at myself and my theory is going in November Do you think it is possible i would find driving test in London by November?😊 i am annoyed because in London so many roads are 20 and some are 30, as we know. i failed for doing a 20 in a 30 when road was 20 earlier, so the 30 sign was on the floor and i stopped at traffic light where the 30 sign written on floor was so i missed this completely. Do you think this was a unfair fault? Why did i miss this? i was looking far ahead as possible 😅 Also, for some reason for someone who has over 60 hours of driving lessons the examiner guy touched steering wheel Why? What was the point? And that was my other fault After he say i need many more lessons in steering Why? What is the point in touching the steering wheel? What is the point in making me wait MANY months for a driving test? I lost a lot of confidence in my driving and my steering now 😢 I wasn’t going to hit the curve, surely for somebody who has many lessons and waited patiently for a test To fail the way i did was stupid i affected me a lot in my mental health as you can tell And i felt dumb for failing simply feels the examiner didn’t want to pass me You know ? i failed in July The DVSA do nothing about anything A massive thank you to you for the video Simply feels as i let myself down as this wasn’t my first driving test either. The DVSA released an email on Friday of last week. Saying they are going to release driving tests (150000) for October and November on the booking system from Monday 2nd October onwards. They will release tests every few days. Just keep looking

It is a pain when two HGV's take up the first two lanes.
You doing good. Nice entry on . The more lanes the easier it is as you have move options
Thanks for the tip
Good Lesson for Demi, the motorway can have many hazards and a lot to be aware of😮
It was a good lesson

24:44 what is that big orange sign on the right hand side next to M1? I can’t tell if it’s an emergency diversion sign or something else.
I will check it out

Quick question : Can a PDI teach motorway driving to a recently passed student who has a full uk driving licence in a car with no dual controls?
Yes they can because they are allowed on the motorway with anyone once they have passed.
Hi James, I'd like to know is it legal to pass on left at the speed limit if the car on right is moving slower.
I would move to the right lane behind the car and hopefully they will get the idea that they are driving too slow and move to the left so you can overtake.
