Charlie you need to go international, come to some of the hoods in the uk in Manchester and London. Yes we have some pretty rundown areas in the inner city areas in the uk. Not all of the UK looks like the tourist brochure, all the cities have wealth and poverty just like America. We call the housing projects ‘council estates’ in the uk. Manchester looks more like philly than Boston with all the row houses in the inner city. Boston has more of a maritime feel to it bring by the coast. I was brought up in an inner city in the uk but at least in those areas you have a community spirit which you don’t often have in wealthy neighbourhoods. I got family in the Boston area but they live in a pretty safe suburb, would def not raise a family around blue hill avenue or four corners, it’s not the safest area to be although a lot of other major American cities like philly, Baltimore and Chicago are worse than Boston for violence.

@STOP SIMPIN' LOOOL! There's crime everywhere sweet heart. But those places that have crime are mostly places with very low income and high poverty rates. But with a city like Boston with BEAUTIFUL architecture and very expensive living, I highly doubt anything will happen to me out there. No one is acting tough but you right now, so you can find out the hard way of acting tough with people because you aren't from there neither.
@STOP SIMPIN' Again I did not say Boston had no crime, I said it barely has crime cause of its expensive living. If people are living there, I doubt they are broke, so how will I or they go broke if they are living there? Also why would they risk loosing their livelihood doing crime? Of course you will always have to deal with crime no matter where you go. But some places have little to no crime, Like Boston. You should be happy about that. I wasn't trying to make myself feel like anything, I'm simply saying I would rather stay in a "hood" with no crime, than a hood with the most violent of crime everyday. You was the one talking about some, "you better find out the hard way", that's being tough. Well I got news for that, all it takes is for me, or someone else to shoot first and they win. If you’re still in the area , you should go to Lynn or Lawrence to see some more hoods in Massachusetts
Yeah man. People think Boston is soft but they don't know the suburbs are really grimy.
Boston is gentrified. The real grimy places are north and south. Lawrence, Lynn, Lowell, Everett, Brockton, etc
Lynn is probably the most grimiest suburb of Boston.
@@mattmurphy2755 - I live near it and can verify that Everett is definitely ghetto. They even have broken toilets and other junk on the streets in some areas! Lynn is even worse. Some parts of Common Street = Ew!
Lawrence looks shitty. It really isn't that bad. You guys act like these places are Detroit. They're hood. But it's pretty lightweight. Lynn and Chelsea aren't super rough either. Basically, new England uses hood or ghetto for places where poor brown and black people are even if they aren't super dangerous.
I love Boston I lived there for 8yrs
@@JamesEarlJones999 🤦🏿♂️
This is definitely calm AF compared to how it used to be back in the 80-90s this entire area was crazy AF. I live right across from here since '89 trust me.
Yup.
89' and 90'....
Bullets EVERYWHERE.
Swervin' Mervin Reece....
Boston was CRAZY.
You'd never know that today though.
Facts but people still act like it wasn't like that
That was everywhere tho lollll the 80s and 90s was the height of the drug era so if a city like boston was crazyyy you don't wanna even begin to imagine wat other cities was looking like 💯
Loving that Planet Rock in the beginning
You was really here wow!!! That’s wassup been waiting for you to show my city 617 baby
As a high income european, i find these videos really fascinating.
Same!
The underlying racism in your comment is uncanny af 🖕🏾
He went to the worst parts of boston, not the best parts. as you can see, the worst parts are still pretty good.
What hoods were you in Charlie... I’m from Boston didn’t know if you were in Roxbury, Dorchester, Jamaica Plains. Nice cruise around Boston but no audio
Josette Thanks Josette like Charlie’s video’s great job❤️
My grandfather grew up in Lynn and never shook that accent.
Lynn the city of sin

Lynn’s gotten worse then Boston sadly

I am very proud to be a Boston resident. we don't have any hoods. number 1 school system in the country, low crime, and the most educated people in the world.
Boston Mike you’re thinking of Brockton, not Boston.
you talkin about Boston or the State of MA????
Some of the more run down lookin hoods are outside of the city. Chelsea, Lawrence, Brockton, New Bedford etc.. Boston is gentrified but people still get it in from what I hear.. idk tho I been on the west coast for the last decade
How old is the driver of the car? This is nothing compared to what I remember Boston to be like.... Way worse
@BarbadosB86 lies
Methadone Mile is pretty bad...
Not to bad looking actually
Your previous Boston videos were not the hood. They were actually nice areas. However, this is the hood.
Go down Albany st and Massachusetts ave. And like they say the freaks come out at night
Facts lol
Methadone mile
it still gets crazy and too many murders for a city that small but the older heads and the new generation have done a great job mending fences. Congrats to Dorchester, Roxbury, Mattapan for being able to decrease many of the violence that has allowed kids to grow up as kids.
Bruh Boston Ain’t Dangerous Y’all Had 38 Murders Last Year. That Ain’t Bad At All. Compared To A Small City Like Dc We Had 180 Homicides Last Year And It’s 127 Murders Right Now And It’s Only July. I Would Love To Live In A City Like Boston.
@@kayyjohnson8325 1st of all DC has 3 times the amount of black people than Boston and the DC metro area is way more populated than Boston area. People do no come up to Boston unless you have to or you are doing international flights. So fo course traffic in dc is different. They don't call it chocolate city for nothing. Also, I am glad I am not seeing those 180 to 200 murders like Boston use to in the 80's and '90s and that comes from a lot of hard work by the same people in the hood. Trust me u do not glorify violence and if you do then it sounds like you never been involved and you are a civilian talking tough online.
@@kayyjohnson8325 its got 45 so far this year
@@KORNABLOCK DC and Boston area have the same amount of people. DC also only has 2x as many black people as Boston-not 3
@@MyMyManMelo_ The dynamics of where DC is located has a lot to do with it. It has always been a runner's paradise. Meaning guns and drugs run through there for decades and that's regardless of the race of the gangs. Italians, Irish, Black, Latinos, Caribbean you name it. between Bmore, Virginia, Carolinas all the way down to Florida has always been a corridor. Boston is like a richer Buffalo that has the same problems but are masked well because of the wealth of the city of Boston. Anywhere that can have Mayor Menino for 20 years you know the dynamics of the city. So it has never been a black city in a sense even though black people have been there for decades. 1st Black Masonic Temple is in Boston. One of the best NOI FOI temples is in boston. the history is deep but internet fools don't know that history but i can see why.
Boston was wild back in the 70’s but it’s a really nice city nowadays (except for some of the black areas :)
The redlight district was fun to drive through when I was young. Prostitutes would reach in through the open window and rub our nuts and ask "Going out honey". We had no money of course but we did get our nuts rubbed for free.
@@Mardasee Lol, you, my brother, my husband and all the guys from my part of Mass all used to go to the Combat Zone, usually someone would get the shit kicked out of them or rolled by a hooker by the nights end! 🤣🤣🤣
Have you ever felt nervous, scared,or paranoid while driving through some of these hoods?
I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure he's definitely packing something if he is driving through all these hoods that he does. But would still be nerve racking going to different hoods never been too before
It’s just driving a car, it’s not like people sit in Boston waiting for a car to come by the shoot at
@@ejmcards Exactly. I thing people make out the hoods to be worse than they are. Not saying that they're not bad.
Scared of what? He’s just driving through. He’s not a enemy. Random people don’t get shot unless it’s a robbery or you’re caught in a crossfire. He’s just driving around and he’s a middle aged black male. Nobody will say anything to him.
Flip Rodrigues why would he carry a gun? What will it do? This isn’t GTA where he can just drive and aim.
Welcome to Beantown!
BOSTON YOU'RE MY HOME! Thanks, Charlie!!
No one was double-parked. Times have changed!
Regardless... I love my city #617
Boston Strong!
South Baton Rouge next we all been waiting
Spanish & American food?? Wtf… Why do people on the east coast call Puerto-ricans, Cubans, Dominicans etc etc "Spanish"? It's so weird to me. So ignorant. It's like calling Jamaicans "English" or Haitans "French".
Facts!! I have to correct people all day!!!
It’s Spain food. Who said it was PR, DR food?
ask the spanish people lol they own the stores
@@MyMyManMelo_ No they don't. Puerto-ricans, Dominicans and Cubans do. Spanish people live in Spain.

Where is that? Is that Mattapan...off Blue Hill Ave ?
I've watched your videos before never thought I'd see a place where I actually hung out but in this video I did
I'm not sure if blue hill Ave would be considered a "Hood", but oh well, I live there.

Blue Hill Ave!

"Planet Rock" 🔥🔥🔥1982 Afrika Bambaata & the Soul Sonic Force "...Boston rocks to da Planet Rock!...Don't stop!!!"
Come to Worcester and go down Main Street at like 1am
I don’t advise anyone that’s not from here to venture into the hoods thinking because it looks clean it’s safe. The Cape Verdeans in Uphams corner will be on your top and you won’t know it. My Haitians in mattapan/river St are crazy deep. You got Jamaicans,Trinis deep. Boston is no joke but too outsiders it’s soft. Dominicans/PR in JP..There are so many hoods and projects it’s crazy - almost every street has a gang that’s what makes it so more dangerois.
Should have seen these hoods back in the 80s.
Boston is kinda like San Francisco. It looks slightly suburban which I think some people forget that some suburbs are considered hoods but it’s slightly suburban look is what makes people think that it’s a safe environment. Boston looking live at night. Good video Chuck!!
Realistically, you drove through one hood, then the Zoo / Golf Course area. A lot of the hoods are on side streets off of Blue Hill Ave (the strip you were driving down).
yea the sidestreets be looking rougher
This looks a lot better than compared to New Orleans ir St.Louis. good videos, thank you. Very enlightening.
Life-long Masshole here... compared to the other cities you go to, Boston’s not that bad at all. Except for the pothole-strewn roads of course.
Gotta agree. Especially since I grew up in some other cities but been in Boston for a decade.
Gotta remember that Boston was designed for horse and buggy and pedestrians... cobblestone alleyways
opm smuT that has nothing to do with the poor condition of the pavement today.
I'm yes it does lol have you ever installed a hardwood floor on dirt? No. Because you need a proper subfloor. Logic would prove the same concept applies to the floor that cars drive on. AKA the road
opm smuT how many cobblestone cow paths does he drive on in this video? That’s right, none. I’m guessing you don’t live in Boston.
What up Charlie!!! How did you like Boston?
Damnnn this is a niceeee ass hood no 🧢
If your still in MA I would recommend going to Brockton, Fall River, Worcester
Lived in Fall River for 50 years now I'm in the Boston area..I hear the River has changed a lot.
alek lol just not Boston it’s a sleeper city everything good then bam u shot
Also New Bedford

It's good to see you in new england! You should check out manchester, NH (maybe even nashua, NH too) or Rochester, NH! Rochester is decently bad from what I've heard and manchester apparently is pretty bad too. Although NH has the lowest crime compared to all other states which is cool
Farmerfrugal Manchester!
New bedford
Manchester is rough depending on which side of town and Rochester is a pit.
NH dont have no hoods lol
Just a lot of fiends
Love to see you do Brockton , downtown area...the freaks come out at night ( and all day too)
Charlie you need to go international, come to some of the hoods in the uk in Manchester and London.
I use to.live right outside of philly a d use to hang out down there it's a ruff spot especially in the north east. Center city is probably the nicest spot in all of philly.
Yeah Kensington and north philly in general is pretty rough. I’ve been to philly quite a few times used to live in the states now I’m back in the UK. Center city is beautiful it gives you a false impression of what a lot of the city actually looks like. You only have to go a few blocks from downtown and it looks like you’re in a completely different world!
The city can be dangerous but thank God we never lived in filth
My mans Bo prolly got a gangsta truck the way every hood be scoping him
I don't miss working in the city one God damn bit. The traffic and subways are miserable.

Y’ALL SHOULD HAVE GONE TO DORCHESTER💀💀💀
Damn! Someone get me out of St. Louis, I want to live there!
It’s the third most expensive city in the United States.
@STOP SIMPIN' Compared to constant nights and days of gunfire and a super high murder rate and poverty rate? Yes.
No matter what the situation is, rather I'm being tough or not.
@@joshthesupertagger You'll be fine as long as you stay in the right places with the right people, like anywhere else in America.
