This is a reupload of Windows Saturn's video which he made private (idk why). I was able to get the old files back because of someone. It is recommended to use the LATEST software for this transformation pack.

I wish Windows 10 looked just like this with the Windows 7 logo or at least gave people the option to change to the Aero theme without having to do all of this. Imagine every new release of Windows looked like Windows 7, from Windows 8 to Windows 11 and beyond.. it would be perfect. I hate the minimal flat designs of Windows 8 / 8.1, 10 and 11.

microsoft just wanted for everyone to suffer with the release of windows 8 , by that i mean that win8 introduced the "metro" deisgn, on which i just call it stupid.
They allowed you to do that in the past. In Windows 7 you could make it look like Windows 95

I miss it too, Windows Vista and 7 has friendly design, it wasn't too serious and simplified.

@@user-hk1vi9pz9s frutiger aero was a design trend that many brands/companies adopted around mid 2000's to mid 2010's. Gradients, shines, transparency, "3-D" icons/logos, etc. was everywhere, and Windows did play a big role in the trend with Vista/7's Aero theme.

Windows 7 was so great. I miss those days when I booted up my Sony Vaio VPCEH and heard the wonderful sounds of Windows 7 while my laptop was slowly warming up and the fan was giving off that unmistakable Windows 7 laptop smell

So I have tried this on the latest build of windows 10 which is 22H2. For anyone thats interested in trying this on actual hardware, it DOES work, however there are a couple of things to note that don't appear in the video:
HackBGRT - I do not recommend doing this on actual hardware due to the risks it has with completely breaking the windows install and honestly it really doesn't look that great as it still uses the win10 loading wheel... I know a warning about this is plastered in this video and in the folder itself but it's worth highlighting.
06:10 - The taskbar program throws an 'Incompatibility warning' error if you try to start it and warns it may make windows explorer unstable if you try to use it. I think the version of taskbar tweaker included within the ZIP is slightly outdated as it prompts you that a new version is available when you start it up. I have applied the 'windows 10 large icons' and it hasn't crashed windows or thrown any further errors therefore I do believe on the current build that this okay :)
07:35 - The window binds program will bug you every single time you open it to register for the software therefore 100% make sure you activate the free trial. Im unsure at this stage if the system lets you keep using the win7 aero theme you apply if the free trial expires, but i'll update this post if that's the case. The Win7 Aero theme provided in the ZIP folder is almost perfect but not 100%. I noticed a few graphical glitches here and there but again its not enough to kill the experience. Applying the theme will also change your default windows colour to grey. if you want to turn this back into the default blue then it can be done within the usual Windows 10 personalisation settings.
When shutting down my system, I also had an error message come up regarding explorer.exe but this doesn't seem to have an impact on the system at all and therefore can be ignored! (This only happened the first time and haven't been able to repeat the error)
Finally also be aware that if you want to do this, Microsoft is still supporting windows 10 up until a date in 2025, therefore any updates they release may cause any changes made to your system in this video to break or stop working as this requires edits to the windows reigstry. Do at your own risk and make a system restore point before attempting :)!
Overall though im very happy with how my windows looks now especially having the old windows explorer back that I used all throughout my childhood! If we can't use Win7 anymore due to compatibility, this is a very good alternative!

Very good result and good description. I also find it impossible that Microsoft does not offer the look and feel of Windows 7 in the newer versions. It would certainly be easy to incorporate the old designs.

Thanks for the reupload. If someone took a screenshot of the end result, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between that and Windows 7!
Guys I followed the OG video around a year ago, and I DO NOT recommend. The ownership folder, branding folder, and hack folder are not needed at all in this video. I stopped using this win7 lookalike because it slowed my pc down and because its bugged. Also reinstalling windowblinds every 30 days isn't fun. The branding folder really messes with your pc and you can't get rid of it after giving ownership. What it does is basically tricks programs that aren't compatible with win7 that the pc is win7, which doesn't allow you to install the program. I'm not completely against this tutorial, but proceed at your own risk.
Also, I noticed that the earlier builds of Windows 10 (such as Build 1709) had Aero on them, and they were put in default since I never changed any settings but it still used Aero.

To get the Windows 7 Startup sound First you need to go to Control panel and Press the > And Press All Control Panel items
Then click on sound
And go to Sounds
Enable the Startup sound
Click Apply
Then click OK
Restart your PC and then you well hear it

Windows 7 is my childhood's windows. And as desginer, i still love it.
You can also use that aero theme as Vista when you want Windows 10 to become Windows Vista.

i have completed my setup! and it looks great! thanks for the video! I only have a couple things that would make it better and if anyone out there knows how i can achieve it please let me know!
1. if theres a way to center the boot logo more in the middle of the screen just like the default windows 10 logo is!
2.if theres a way for the wallpaper to always show up when the screen is booting up right before the welcome text and user profile appear, as well as when the computer shuts down and restarts instead of it showing the plain colors of windows! my blurred wallpaper would look great inserted there! and if theres a way to make the user round profile picture smaller that would be great too!
3. a shut down sound :/ last time i checked it wasn't possible and windows completely removed that feature.
and for some reason my little taskbar buttons on the right dont look like windows 7 when i click them, like the buttons themselves are but not when they open up,that would be the hidden apps, wifi connections, and the volume mixer, well the volume one changed into the vertical rectangle but the icon within it didnt and the glass around the rectangle is not there either!
and btw i also created my own win7 boot logo that looks great if anyone is interested let me know! i can assure you are going to like it! :D
i use startallback to make the startmenu and taskbar look like windows 7 you can choose windows 10 windows 8 and windows 11

I remember in windows Saturn’s video someone said they had a version of window blinds that was like winrar. It would say that the free trial has expired when you can still use it. They didn’t say what version it was.

Alright I finally completed everything, works really well! Even on the latest version of Windows 10. One issue I do have, is there a way to force disable all non acrylic screen bluring? That is how windows uses its transparency effects and it bleeds over into WindowBlinds
I think you open the custom theme in the windowblinds folder it's a lot better than the default windows 7 theme from windowblinds. The custom theme includes the glass version of it

@@unpleasantzombie Unlike how the Windows 7 Aero works, the way that transparency is in Windows 8, 8.1, 10, and 11 makes it so that while it is transparent, you cant make out what is behind the window itself. I suggest you look it up but the difference is quite noticeable after a while

Sucks that Windowblinds doesn't work for Chrome, Firefox, or Edge anymore, so the experience isn't quite complete.
dwmblurglass, startisback, aero10, secureuxthemepatcher and silverfox allow you to have a browser with aero
It still works with firefox
Works with chrome
Pale Moon Browser works nicely with DWMBlurGlass and gives you that glassy Aero look on top of the explorer. Pale Moon is a replica of Firefox the way it used to look like back in the days of Windows Vista/7.

Looks mostly nice, but glass is not accurate. It needs to be more transparent and less blurred
I have the most recent version of Windows 10 and everything I did in the video worked perfectly, but I can’t find where to change the task bar logo sizes and my task bar is nonexistent but shows the tiles, time, and all the other goodies..
The only thing that you missed was the File Explorer logo.

By extracting the software, there's files for applications. It's like you open extract a folder with tons of software like Office for example.
