I remember this in the summer of 91 like it was yesterday. My mom watched All My Children RELIGIOUSLY and 1 pm was the time of day she was NOT to be disturbed. "My novella's on, everybody OUT." Has it really been 29 years.....
Haha.. I was in 4th grade and home with chicken pox for 3 weeks and got hooked on this damn storyline. I was like "Mom I can't got back to school. Natalie is trapped in the well!"
This was the story that got me addicted to AMC! My mother watched One Life To Live so i would always record AMC amd OLTL every day. I looked forward to getting home.
Omg this whole era was such a thrilling story! I remember getting to watch these episodes during summer break then Mom recording the rest for me when I went back to school. Was only in Jr. High at the time but my Mom and Grandma got me hooked on AMC. Great times back then.
Hell yeah she was. It's one thing to play a dual role which she did perfectly, but to play one person of the dual acting as the other? That takes talent. Cause you can sooo see the differences between Natalie and Janet as Natalie. This is probably my favorite AMC storyline.
@@StrongEnough78 exactly! Like Erika Slezak could play Viki and Niki and Niki pretending to be Viki and vise versa and she played 7 different alters! THAT takes real talent that a pretty new face (an actor hired for looks only with no talent) today just can’t come close pulling off!
KATE COLLINS was great in the dual role of Natalie and her strange sister Janet - this is when the show was super great - I hope that when the new show hits the air, that some of this excellent writing will resurface. Towards the end of All My Children, there was a little too much of the Greenlee/Kendall Ryan triangle, it got a little dull, and the stronger actors weren't always present.
I started watching AMC back in the 90s because of this storyline; however, when I started watching, Natalie was already in the well. So thanks for what I missed. My only gripe is you cut out the intro, that dramatic music and intro at a climax part was so great!
Wow this is a rare find and i see you just started uploading these. I'm hoping you have many more AMC classics from the 90s. Would definitely love to relive AMC again
AMAZING! I could have sworn that "Janet" went home, before the wedding, and then on the day of the wedding, "Natalie" is admiring herself in the mirror and she has a flashback of this moment, letting the audience know that she's really 'Janet'! Then she says' "It worked!" and she goes on and gets married to 'Uncle Pork-Chop' and, for a while, nobody knows if the REAL Natalie is alive or dead... Funny how you remember this stuff, when you can only get to see it ONCE. Anyway, GREAT STORY!
That sort of happened but it wasn't until the day of the wedding that her reflection shows Janet with the black hair smiling in the mirror as she's all dressed up in Natalie's Wedding dress about to marry Trevor showing the audience her true identity!!👍
Also before Janet wacks Will Cortlandt with the crow bar I could swear Will say's "It's You" just before he is killed?! But apparently he says nothing only looking surprised or shocked!!👍
I loved All My Children because it reminded me so much of my other favorite show Dark Shadows (shot on the same film set). When the show got creepy, boy was it scary!
I am so glad you mentioned Dark Shadows. I kinda feel that Agnes Nixon paid homage to the show by having Dimitri in a castle and a presumed dead wife, Angelique. That story was very gothic.
@@jeremydowdy4919 She certainly did! The entire Wildwind story arcs were reminiscent of Dark Shadows' Collinwood. I loved them! BTW, there is a Jonathan Frid (Barnabas) Documentary that was just made. It's being narrated by Ian Buchanan (from GH). Dark Shadows and Beyond. Check online for how to buy or view it!
@@RidiculousThoughts Thank you! I will have to check it out! I guess since Ian Buchanan was on Port Charles and Joshua Temple was a vampire lackey, he is an excellent choice to do a DS documentary. (Oh how I still miss my beloved PORT CHARLES)
I never watched AMC (CBS soap viewer) but did catch some of this story and thought Collins was great. When the 92 Emmy's were announced, two major surprises (or snubs!) in lead actress - no Beverlee Mckinsey from GL and no Collins from AMC...both had an amazing year of work. Looking at the nominees that year, Lucci should not have been nominated and Jeanne Cooper should have been in Supporting as that was what she was that past year and that would have made room for these two. I did not watch OLTL so cant speak on those (Slezak, Tuck) but do think Hubbard deserved her nomination.
30 years ago and it is still my favorite storyline ever. She was brilliant. You really thought they were different people.

I used to watch this with my mother as well. I heart Kate Collins!
Happy memories too! This was my first storyline!
Bilal Nasir 🙌 me too girl! Except I had the flu! This storyline and Dixie coming back from beyond the grave had me hooked!

Omg me too. Chicken pox in 4th grade. And I got hooked with this story watching with my mom.
This entire storyline was brilliant, thanks mostly to Kate Collins. Take note doppelgänger storylines: this is how it’s done!!!

Thank you for this. I am not a fan of doppelganger stories but this one was pure gold! Kate Collins was awesome in this dual role.
This storyline was the SHIT. Thank you soooo much for posting it!!!!
This was so well acted. I remember watching this when it first aired.
Kate Collins was da bizness, lol!!! She was robbed for that Emmy
And Robin Mattson played the role too later in the 90's.. XD
I've actually scene Another World work they actually won that year. Another World was just as good.
Robbed!

I appreciate your upload! This was my first major AMC story despite missing their confrontation. Thanks!
Janet from another planet always had a corky since of humor
I remember this so well. Some of the best acting
Thanks for the Upload 👍 !! Janet from another planet.. The original Janet.

Thank you. Amazing that you still had this
"Single White Female" Before It Came Out😂 Go, Kate Collins!!! She Never Gets the Credit She Rightly Deserves
Fantastic Drama 🎭 I was glued to my tv.

It took FOREVER getting her out of that well! I remember being so mad when she sort of lost every opportunity
my grandmother watched all my children and this seriously affected me
😂😂
" Well I just think this river bank is the loveliest place in town".haha.

Summer '91
“… and DON’T skimp on the dumplings!!” 🤨
I was a little girl but I remember when this story line happened

Why is there no sound?
Don’t go Natalie!
