@@NightingaleFlorine I've really loved the x16. I don't use if for gaming but do a lot of multimedia work that benefits from the gpu. I've had it for almost 2 years now and it runs everything I throw at it. I did recently upgrade the RAM to 64 Gig. 16 worked fine for me until I started working on 360 video editing. I was happy to find that it's designed to make RAM upgrades pretty straightforward. The battery life isn't great, but that's not an issue because I generally don't work away from power except maybe over lunch or something like that. Also it's physically large and not lightweight. I still think it's easy enough to tote around, and the battery/size/weight for me are necessary compromises for the power and screen size. It's a great computer. I haven't noticed any reduction in performance in the almost 2 years I've had it.
Good quality video! Clear sound, steady shots, well-thought-out script and very detailed review. I'm waiting for the X13 with the lowest spec (AMD APU, no DGPU) to come out.
Laptops that are getting more performance while being slim, quiet and having great battery life are the ones I'm excited about. Chunky desktop replacement are not the way to go.
True but true. I have had a lot of different laptops over the years. Laptop performance and laptop durability/heat can never truly balance out. Most slim but powerful laptops tend to overheat or break easily. After three slim high performance laptops ($3-4k each), Ive come back to medium size high performance laptops again.

Lovely review, very well put and organized congrats! Got this bad boy with 4070 for 2.7k euros here in EU and I couldn't be happier since it checks every single mark that I've wanted from a 2in1. Big mini led screen, nice h/w (not the best but I wasn't expecting nor looking for 4080/4090) in these more slim dimensions while keeping the weight good AND being able to use it as a huge tablet with touch screen. You can virtually sit it at every possible place no matter how small it is, keep it in your hands and have a very respectable desktop replacement in your hands to do virtually everything on the go. The fact that it is highly upgradable is the icing on the cake for me. Yeah for this amount of money you can buy a bulk(ier) 4080 gaming laptop but I wasn't looking for something like this since gaming is important but not the top priority for me in a 2 in 1 laptop like this. I wanted a machine to be able to take it in my hands and use it in vertical or horizontal mode with touch screen, put it wherever I want in an airplane/train/bus or somewhere where space is limited while also having the ability to game decently in it.. Having the XG mobile option is nice also. I was able to o/c the GPU quite well also with 350/1200 so a welcome 10% increase in performance can come handy if needed! Such a great laptop..

Last year, the darker finishes were mostly the ones with RTX 3060 and IPS display while the grey finishes were the ones with 3070 and Mini-LED display. Thank you for the wonderful review as always! You deserve much more subscribers than what you have now. I hope you do not change the way you are so detailed with your reviews while incorporating comparisons with similar laptops, and previous versions of the laptops. I ended up returning my Strix Scar 16 because of how obvious the blooming is with the 2023 Mini-LED panels. I thought it was a panel issue, but it turns out to be more of a dimming algorithm problem. I'll probably reconsider it when they get it perfect or as close to the Macbooks.

I believe my Flow X16 has uneven CPU paste application. I'm experiencing excessively high CPU temperatures, even when playing games like League of Legends. One incident that convinced me of a poorly applied liquid metal was during a CPU burn test, where the temperature instantly spiked up to 95 degrees Celsius. I've modded and repasted several laptops that I own, so I know this isn't normal. Unfortunately, I can't repaste my Flow X16 due to the warranty sticker. The thought of returning my laptop just because of a poor paste job is frustrating. Additionally, I've been facing issues with the trackpad's ribbon cable seating. The poor connection sometimes renders my trackpad partially or completely unusable, showing a "hardware missing" message. I had to remove the battery (ignoring the warranty sticker) and reseat the trackpad cables because they were initially seated crookedly. Asus seriously needs to improve their QC. Great review and keep it up.

This is exactly what was desperatly looking for. The review is very well made, but the most important thing for me is your the noise / performance spreadsheet and commentary. There is no place online where one can find side by side comparsions of performance and noise levels of laptops in different scenarios. The performance of GPUs is so good nowdays, that many people are willing to sacrifice some fps for more quiet laptop. Another thing is work. Ofc there are some ppl that will benefit from 100% i9-13990XXHK processor, but many more (I belive) will use it in some middle-of-the-road scenarios. And for them it is very important to know how the laptop behaves in low load, medium load and high load scenarios (noise wise). I think this will be one of the most important aspects now and I will be watching your channel closely! I cant wait for RB16 review. Btw, I have 2022 X16 that I had some problems with (turned out it was SSD drive) - and i was wondering if I should change to M16 or 2023 X16 or RB16. And this good balance of performance, build quality and noise was the most important thing for me - but I could not find any place that would give me any answers. Until now ;) GW!
I just got the 4060 version and it’s my first gaming laptop. Your video is the reason I chose an ASUS laptop. It was very informative and clear to understand. I will be referring back to this video when it’s time to set up my laptop.
I really love the idea of a 2-in-1 that is also gaming capable, it sucks that this is the only model worth buying because it definitely comes at a premium.
Best Buy is selling 2022’s Asus Rog flow x16 with AMD and RTX 3060 for only $1200. I ordered one and I’ll see if I like it or not. It’s not the mini-led, but they are only selling that with the 2023 model. I can’t find the older one anywhere.

This is a standout review. By far the best I've seen while recently shopping for this device. Thank you for focusing on useful user information, rather than the typical wall-to-wall braindead bench marks so many others seem to rest on. The Benchmark to Noise comparisons were particularly useful.
I got a PC in 2020 on my student loan for my college work as I was doing a games dev course and I got an ex friend to help me do it since I had never had to do it myself which I regret so much now with how bad that thing has run from the second I bought it, that Pc is only 2060ti and since then I’ve left college and now just don’t need all that with the kinda games I play, I’ve been wanting a laptop for so long and had a hp pavilion 360 before my PC which is what I was used to, I’ve just found this video never even knowing this laptop existed and I’m so glad I found this. I got the 2022 model this week, in multizone mode having brightness above 60% solves the blooming issues and dimming zone which is good but when running on battery it might get low.
I actually bought the 2022 model last week, and it's actually expensive in my country. What I thought was 2023 will be even more expensive considering the i9. The configuration I took is Ryzen 7 6800HS and RTX 3060 I might buy the XGmobile after 2 or 3yrs and in a year I'll do a RAM and SSD upgrade

subscribed. Bought this for Military, Travel, Gaming as a Golf Simulator GSPro Golf and E6. I got the i9, RTX4060 since many reviewers said the 4070 drains battery more with not much increase for what I will be doing. I do want to get multiple screens for my work station.
Finding a laptop that I can both take notes from the lectures with as well as doing simulations on was quite tricky. I think this one might solve that issue tho

Yeah, I wouldn’t blame you 🤣 the cool thing too is you can easily lower fans even more using something like G-Helper on these. G-Helper has been a lifesaver and is way easier to navigate and figure out than Armoury Crate or Legion Vantage!

i have this particular laptop but with geforce 4050 for 3 months now. i think its great! i love how i was able to fit in 64gb ram instead of 16gb myself. Only complains i have is the touchpad is not as smooth as on macbook pro, only one usb-c, keyboard blinking when i am not using laptop in some mode.
Thanks for the detailed review, looking to upgrade from my 8yrs old Dell. Was looking at the Rog G14 and Zenbook 14 Pro, but I think this one hits the spot for me especially with all the upgradable internals and connectivity to external GPU. I'll wait until around black friday though to see how cheap it gets.

Especially, noise and heat emissions!
Thanks! I think the Yoga 9i looks awesome this year. it looks super thin and the 4070 is cool. I hate that it has the stupid numpad and typical Legion-style keyboard (personal preference). It also will fall behind in performance due to the GPU hitting 20w less and I think the CPU is a bit lower performing too? Idk too much about the 13905H. Now I know I mentioned that TGP doesn't matter as much on the 4070 and that is true, but 100w MAX is something to note, because that means it will probably run at like 70-80w most of the time unless the CPU isn't being used at all, and that will cause a bit less performance. Matt Moniz also pointed out that the Extreme Performance mode hits 53dB which is quite a lot louder than the Flow's Turbo mode that only hits like 46-47dB. And if this is the score that the Yoga gets (at 6:18 in this video: ua-cam.com/video/jNbIOKV1PVA/v-deo.html) while in that Extreme mode then it definitely offers way less performance per decibel than the Flow. The Flow scores higher than that even its silent mode. The difference between a graphics score of 8k and 12k in games and gpu-heavy programs will be pretty noticeable. Also I couldn't find if the Yoga was touchscreen or not, or if it had the mini-LED single-zone toggle like the Flow has, which would be pretty important as well. I don't think it looks like a bad laptop by any means but if both were around the same price, I'd probably pick the Flow X16 personally.
Definitely a really nice laptop and unique with its features compared to traditional gaming laptops. Only thing I'd say is disappointing is that you're paying quite a bit of $ at 2700 for basically 150W 3070Ti performance since Nvidia neutered the 4070 in my eyes compared to the higher tier cards. Not really Asus's fault or anything, just think most of the mid to low tier 4000 cards don't have the most amazing performance overall for the $.
The 2022 laptop with 3060 is the one worth the money if one doesn't care about the mini-led display. That way buying the new 4090 Rog XG mobile GPU is worth it.

Sorry I didn’t see this comment! But the stylus support is very good! I’d say it’s very comparable to an iPad, maybe just a tiny bit less smooth. The pen matters a lot. On the Flow Discord people have shared REALLY good drawings and stuff they could do on it.
Well done! You got the like and subscribe! Came here for the x16 (2023) review, but will be replaying the Armory Crate portion a bunch. I think I found my new laptop! GREAT REVIEW!!! I'm still working on a surface pro GEN 1, for mobile stuff.... yes the first one that came out about 10 years ago. On my desktop I've been having issues with Lightroom being sluggish and I believe it has to do with my settings in Armory Crate and probably the BIOS. I'm not sure if I have it set up properly. I upgraded my desktop with the idea that I wouldn't have to do it again for another 8-10 years and built using the following: ROG crosshair viii dark hero AMD 5950x 128gb gskill 3600mhz RAM (ddr4) 1tb m.2 nvme drive, 850w PSU 1070 (weakest component) Whenever I am using the clone tools it just feels slow, also, whenever I use a new windows explorer window it takes a couple seconds to pull it up. The whole experience just doesn't feel snappy. I'm running windows 10 pro, not many 3rd party programs opening on startup besides my LG monitor and some of the motherboard Asus programs.

Thanks!! And yeah just remember it’s more stable than you think it is! I tend to feel like it’s more stable at a slightly more narrow angle, so sitting a little higher. But I haven’t had any scuffing, I think the best bet is to try not to slide it around too much when it’s in tent mode. Lift and reposition instead of sliding and I think you’ll be good

Congratulations for the completeness of 'excellent review. Smooth, precise and focused on each chapter of the video. The only suggestions I could give you, would be to be able to devote more space to energy efficiency, as well as more tests regarding temperatures, for example a synthetic stress test, involving CPU and GPU simultaneously, to understand the maximum temperatures, in the worst possible scenario recreateable, for example using Furmark at the same time, and CInebench in loop for 40 minutes.

Amazing in depth review once again. A true benchmark on how to make a good complete review of a product I'm in such a pickle rn on what to buy. I have 3 options really and all have their ups and downs 1. Flow X16 - 4060, 16gb, 1tb, mini led, 2800€ + glossy + bigger screen + versatility - display is too bright at lowest setting - no 4070 option to buy yet, prob would cost 3100€ if it comes to local store ever 2. G14 - 4070, 16gb, 1tb, mini led. A 300€ sale going on rn, 2500€ + best value - matte (prefer glossy to not mute colours and easier to clean) - display is too bright at lowest setting (probably, waiting for ultrabookreview or jarrods tech to make a review) 3. Zenbook 14 pro oled - 4070, 32gb, 1tb, 2800€ + oled/glossy + 4000 series are great at lower wattage so I don't think the gaming experience is that much worse + fn lock, seriously why can't we have this on the gaming laptops asus - probably worse speakers and keyboard but I am used to the zenbook keyboard, using one atm - (?) touch screen with oled. I have not looked at an oled touch screen laptop ever and I do not know how the touch matrix looks like in person if it is a minor thing or absolutely horrible - oled cause of burn in - can buy earliest at the start of august I am not really sold on mini led. It has caused the brightness problem where at lowest brightness the screen is just too bright for night time use. If there was an ips option of Flow X16 where I live I would buy it instant cause it is the only problem I have with the laptop. There is an ips version of G14 but it is running on zen3+ instead of 4 and I don't like that I really don't think I would ever use multi zone cause while you get colors and brightness pop, it seems to be at the cost of color accuracy. And this is coming from someone who used to use vivid mode on my phone for years but switched then to natural a few years ago and never looked back Another option ofc is to just wait for 2024 and maybe G14 or something goes oled but that is such copium mindset. Trying to find a glossy display with RTX cards is an impossible task almost. There are plenty amazing laptops I would buy that have glossy displays be it ips or oled but I am not buying a laptop with iris xe graphics, could buy one with 680m/780m but they don't sell those anywhere where I live. The god tier AMD integrated graphics are all on gaming laptops Just venting here. Been trying to buy a new laptop for a year. Tried G14 and Flow X16 last summer and returned both due to high pitch fans, G14 also had trackpad rattle, X16 screen was too bright
You can have 'fn lock' on Flow X16 with a lightweight tool called 'G-Helper' instead of the cumbersome Armoury Crate. I think all the options listed are way too expensive for what they are. Especially the Zenbook. The one I held was build more like 500-800EUR laptops. It was Zenbook 14.5" OLED and it had an awful for the price plastic touchpad, had tinny speakers, etc. Don't you have Flow X16 2022 on sale available?
@@yurymleh Yeah I can find Zenbook oleds for 1000€+ but they have integrated graphics. This is just how the pricing is here Legion Pro 5i with 4070 I can find 1800€ but I despise numpads on laptops, and the color accuracy of the Legion laptops is not to my liking. They just have 100% srgb and thats about it
Something that few reviewers have talked about is music production, which the AMD CPU makes such a difference that an intel CPU is more or less a dealbreaker. I have the 2022 now and I have just ordered the 2023 and plan to do a side-by-side comparison for music production with Ableton. I am suspecting that the 2023 version might be going back because of the intel CPU.

@@ananttomar1865 I haven't seen either in person unfortunately. For me it was between the zenbook pro 14, blade 15 (14 was too expensive) and the rog flow x13. I decided on the zenbook pro 14. I currently have an Alienware 13 R3 which was the first laptop with an OLED screen and it is gorgeous.

@@NightingaleFlorine I've really loved the x16. I don't use if for gaming but do a lot of multimedia work that benefits from the gpu. I've had it for almost 2 years now and it runs everything I throw at it.
I did recently upgrade the RAM to 64 Gig. 16 worked fine for me until I started working on 360 video editing. I was happy to find that it's designed to make RAM upgrades pretty straightforward.
The battery life isn't great, but that's not an issue because I generally don't work away from power except maybe over lunch or something like that. Also it's physically large and not lightweight. I still think it's easy enough to tote around, and the battery/size/weight for me are necessary compromises for the power and screen size.
It's a great computer. I haven't noticed any reduction in performance in the almost 2 years I've had it.
Good quality video! Clear sound, steady shots, well-thought-out script and very detailed review. I'm waiting for the X13 with the lowest spec (AMD APU, no DGPU) to come out.
Laptops that are getting more performance while being slim, quiet and having great battery life are the ones I'm excited about. Chunky desktop replacement are not the way to go.

True but true. I have had a lot of different laptops over the years. Laptop performance and laptop durability/heat can never truly balance out. Most slim but powerful laptops tend to overheat or break easily. After three slim high performance laptops ($3-4k each), Ive come back to medium size high performance laptops again.

Got this bad boy with 4070 for 2.7k euros here in EU and I couldn't be happier since it checks every single mark that I've wanted from a 2in1.
Big mini led screen, nice h/w (not the best but I wasn't expecting nor looking for 4080/4090) in these more slim dimensions while keeping the weight good AND being able to use it as a huge tablet with touch screen. You can virtually sit it at every possible place no matter how small it is, keep it in your hands and have a very respectable desktop replacement in your hands to do virtually everything on the go. The fact that it is highly upgradable is the icing on the cake for me. Yeah for this amount of money you can buy a bulk(ier) 4080 gaming laptop but I wasn't looking for something like this since gaming is important but not the top priority for me in a 2 in 1 laptop like this. I wanted a machine to be able to take it in my hands and use it in vertical or horizontal mode with touch screen, put it wherever I want in an airplane/train/bus or somewhere where space is limited while also having the ability to game decently in it.. Having the XG mobile option is nice also. I was able to o/c the GPU quite well also with 350/1200 so a welcome 10% increase in performance can come handy if needed! Such a great laptop..

Last year, the darker finishes were mostly the ones with RTX 3060 and IPS display while the grey finishes were the ones with 3070 and Mini-LED display.
Thank you for the wonderful review as always! You deserve much more subscribers than what you have now. I hope you do not change the way you are so detailed with your reviews while incorporating comparisons with similar laptops, and previous versions of the laptops. I ended up returning my Strix Scar 16 because of how obvious the blooming is with the 2023 Mini-LED panels. I thought it was a panel issue, but it turns out to be more of a dimming algorithm problem. I'll probably reconsider it when they get it perfect or as close to the Macbooks.

I believe my Flow X16 has uneven CPU paste application. I'm experiencing excessively high CPU temperatures, even when playing games like League of Legends. One incident that convinced me of a poorly applied liquid metal was during a CPU burn test, where the temperature instantly spiked up to 95 degrees Celsius. I've modded and repasted several laptops that I own, so I know this isn't normal. Unfortunately, I can't repaste my Flow X16 due to the warranty sticker. The thought of returning my laptop just because of a poor paste job is frustrating. Additionally, I've been facing issues with the trackpad's ribbon cable seating. The poor connection sometimes renders my trackpad partially or completely unusable, showing a "hardware missing" message. I had to remove the battery (ignoring the warranty sticker) and reseat the trackpad cables because they were initially seated crookedly.
Asus seriously needs to improve their QC.

This is exactly what was desperatly looking for. The review is very well made, but the most important thing for me is your the noise / performance spreadsheet and commentary. There is no place online where one can find side by side comparsions of performance and noise levels of laptops in different scenarios.
The performance of GPUs is so good nowdays, that many people are willing to sacrifice some fps for more quiet laptop. Another thing is work. Ofc there are some ppl that will benefit from 100% i9-13990XXHK processor, but many more (I belive) will use it in some middle-of-the-road scenarios. And for them it is very important to know how the laptop behaves in low load, medium load and high load scenarios (noise wise).
I think this will be one of the most important aspects now and I will be watching your channel closely! I cant wait for RB16 review.
Btw, I have 2022 X16 that I had some problems with (turned out it was SSD drive) - and i was wondering if I should change to M16 or 2023 X16 or RB16. And this good balance of performance, build quality and noise was the most important thing for me - but I could not find any place that would give me any answers. Until now ;) GW!

I really love the idea of a 2-in-1 that is also gaming capable, it sucks that this is the only model worth buying because it definitely comes at a premium.
Best Buy is selling 2022’s Asus Rog flow x16 with AMD and RTX 3060 for only $1200. I ordered one and I’ll see if I like it or not. It’s not the mini-led, but they are only selling that with the 2023 model. I can’t find the older one anywhere.

I got the 2022 model this week, in multizone mode having brightness above 60% solves the blooming issues and dimming zone which is good but when running on battery it might get low.
Yep! I typically leave my brightness around half or above so I barely ever notice the blooming
I actually bought the 2022 model last week, and it's actually expensive in my country. What I thought was 2023 will be even more expensive considering the i9.
The configuration I took is Ryzen 7 6800HS and RTX 3060
I might buy the XGmobile after 2 or 3yrs and in a year I'll do a RAM and SSD upgrade

subscribed. Bought this for Military, Travel, Gaming as a Golf Simulator GSPro Golf and E6. I got the i9, RTX4060 since many reviewers said the 4070 drains battery more with not much increase for what I will be doing.

In the fan noise chart, you should actually sort the decibel logarithmicaly, so double the perceived noise also appears as double the bar! :)

Yeah, I wouldn’t blame you 🤣 the cool thing too is you can easily lower fans even more using something like G-Helper on these. G-Helper has been a lifesaver and is way easier to navigate and figure out than Armoury Crate or Legion Vantage!

i have this particular laptop but with geforce 4050 for 3 months now. i think its great! i love how i was able to fit in 64gb ram instead of 16gb myself. Only complains i have is the touchpad is not as smooth as on macbook pro, only one usb-c, keyboard blinking when i am not using laptop in some mode.

What is your take on the Yoga Pro 9i 16 RTX 4070? Especially, noise and heat emissions!
Thanks! I think the Yoga 9i looks awesome this year. it looks super thin and the 4070 is cool. I hate that it has the stupid numpad and typical Legion-style keyboard (personal preference). It also will fall behind in performance due to the GPU hitting 20w less and I think the CPU is a bit lower performing too? Idk too much about the 13905H. Now I know I mentioned that TGP doesn't matter as much on the 4070 and that is true, but 100w MAX is something to note, because that means it will probably run at like 70-80w most of the time unless the CPU isn't being used at all, and that will cause a bit less performance. Matt Moniz also pointed out that the Extreme Performance mode hits 53dB which is quite a lot louder than the Flow's Turbo mode that only hits like 46-47dB. And if this is the score that the Yoga gets (at 6:18 in this video: ua-cam.com/video/jNbIOKV1PVA/v-deo.html) while in that Extreme mode then it definitely offers way less performance per decibel than the Flow. The Flow scores higher than that even its silent mode. The difference between a graphics score of 8k and 12k in games and gpu-heavy programs will be pretty noticeable. Also I couldn't find if the Yoga was touchscreen or not, or if it had the mini-LED single-zone toggle like the Flow has, which would be pretty important as well. I don't think it looks like a bad laptop by any means but if both were around the same price, I'd probably pick the Flow X16 personally.

Definitely a really nice laptop and unique with its features compared to traditional gaming laptops. Only thing I'd say is disappointing is that you're paying quite a bit of $ at 2700 for basically 150W 3070Ti performance since Nvidia neutered the 4070 in my eyes compared to the higher tier cards.
Not really Asus's fault or anything, just think most of the mid to low tier 4000 cards don't have the most amazing performance overall for the $.
The 2022 laptop with 3060 is the one worth the money if one doesn't care about the mini-led display.
That way buying the new 4090 Rog XG mobile GPU is worth it.

Sorry I didn’t see this comment! But the stylus support is very good! I’d say it’s very comparable to an iPad, maybe just a tiny bit less smooth. The pen matters a lot. On the Flow Discord people have shared REALLY good drawings and stuff they could do on it.

I'm still working on a surface pro GEN 1, for mobile stuff.... yes the first one that came out about 10 years ago.
On my desktop I've been having issues with Lightroom being sluggish and I believe it has to do with my settings in Armory Crate and probably the BIOS.
I'm not sure if I have it set up properly.
I upgraded my desktop with the idea that I wouldn't have to do it again for another 8-10 years and built using the following:
ROG crosshair viii dark hero
AMD 5950x
128gb gskill 3600mhz RAM (ddr4)
1tb m.2 nvme drive,
850w PSU
1070 (weakest component)
Whenever I am using the clone tools it just feels slow, also, whenever I use a new windows explorer window it takes a couple seconds to pull it up. The whole experience just doesn't feel snappy.
I'm running windows 10 pro, not many 3rd party programs opening on startup besides my LG monitor and some of the motherboard Asus programs.

Yeah it’s definitely one-of-a-kind! Yeah I’ve tested the Microsoft Surface pen and it works perfectly! Unfortunately the US configuration doesn’t come with a pen for some reason.

Thanks!! And yeah just remember it’s more stable than you think it is! I tend to feel like it’s more stable at a slightly more narrow angle, so sitting a little higher. But I haven’t had any scuffing, I think the best bet is to try not to slide it around too much when it’s in tent mode. Lift and reposition instead of sliding and I think you’ll be good

Congratulations for the completeness of 'excellent review. Smooth, precise and focused on each chapter of the video. The only suggestions I could give you, would be to be able to devote more space to energy efficiency, as well as more tests regarding temperatures, for example a synthetic stress test, involving CPU and GPU simultaneously, to understand the maximum temperatures, in the worst possible scenario recreateable, for example using Furmark at the same time, and CInebench in loop for 40 minutes.

I'm in such a pickle rn on what to buy. I have 3 options really and all have their ups and downs
1. Flow X16 - 4060, 16gb, 1tb, mini led, 2800€
+ glossy
+ bigger screen
+ versatility
- display is too bright at lowest setting
- no 4070 option to buy yet, prob would cost 3100€ if it comes to local store ever
2. G14 - 4070, 16gb, 1tb, mini led. A 300€ sale going on rn, 2500€
+ best value
- matte (prefer glossy to not mute colours and easier to clean)
- display is too bright at lowest setting (probably, waiting for ultrabookreview or jarrods tech to make a review)
3. Zenbook 14 pro oled - 4070, 32gb, 1tb, 2800€
+ oled/glossy
+ 4000 series are great at lower wattage so I don't think the gaming experience is that much worse
+ fn lock, seriously why can't we have this on the gaming laptops asus
- probably worse speakers and keyboard but I am used to the zenbook keyboard, using one atm
- (?) touch screen with oled. I have not looked at an oled touch screen laptop ever and I do not know how the touch matrix looks like in person if it is a minor thing or absolutely horrible
- oled cause of burn in
- can buy earliest at the start of august
I am not really sold on mini led. It has caused the brightness problem where at lowest brightness the screen is just too bright for night time use. If there was an ips option of Flow X16 where I live I would buy it instant cause it is the only problem I have with the laptop. There is an ips version of G14 but it is running on zen3+ instead of 4 and I don't like that
I really don't think I would ever use multi zone cause while you get colors and brightness pop, it seems to be at the cost of color accuracy. And this is coming from someone who used to use vivid mode on my phone for years but switched then to natural a few years ago and never looked back
Another option ofc is to just wait for 2024 and maybe G14 or something goes oled but that is such copium mindset. Trying to find a glossy display with RTX cards is an impossible task almost. There are plenty amazing laptops I would buy that have glossy displays be it ips or oled but I am not buying a laptop with iris xe graphics, could buy one with 680m/780m but they don't sell those anywhere where I live. The god tier AMD integrated graphics are all on gaming laptops
Just venting here. Been trying to buy a new laptop for a year. Tried G14 and Flow X16 last summer and returned both due to high pitch fans, G14 also had trackpad rattle, X16 screen was too bright
You can have 'fn lock' on Flow X16 with a lightweight tool called 'G-Helper' instead of the cumbersome Armoury Crate. I think all the options listed are way too expensive for what they are. Especially the Zenbook. The one I held was build more like 500-800EUR laptops. It was Zenbook 14.5" OLED and it had an awful for the price plastic touchpad, had tinny speakers, etc. Don't you have Flow X16 2022 on sale available?

Legion Pro 5i with 4070 I can find 1800€ but I despise numpads on laptops, and the color accuracy of the Legion laptops is not to my liking. They just have 100% srgb and thats about it
Something that few reviewers have talked about is music production, which the AMD CPU makes such a difference that an intel CPU is more or less a dealbreaker. I have the 2022 now and I have just ordered the 2023 and plan to do a side-by-side comparison for music production with Ableton. I am suspecting that the 2023 version might be going back because of the intel CPU.

@@ananttomar1865 I haven't seen either in person unfortunately. For me it was between the zenbook pro 14, blade 15 (14 was too expensive) and the rog flow x13. I decided on the zenbook pro 14. I currently have an Alienware 13 R3 which was the first laptop with an OLED screen and it is gorgeous.
