Have you tried the athletic NA beers? They’re the only ones I’ve tried that actually tasted like beer. I hated the Sam Adam’s NA. Also Guinness NA is great as well. Great video!
I have! There’s a lot of reviews out there for them as they’re the most widely available so I didn’t include them. I like them, but I can think of a beer that is a little bit better than theirs in almost every style they produce. Trail pass is definitely better their ipas. And there are several NA stouts that are waaaaay better than theirs (which is the worst NA dark beer available in my opinion). I like their cerveza a lot but it’s blown out of the water by corona NA which honestly tastes basically the same as regular corona.
@@nataliefoxRD ok I’ll try the trail pass, I’ve seen it, but haven’t had it yet. Same for corona. I also heard good things about Heineken NA. I like the athletic hazy, although it doesn’t really taste like a hazy ipa. But it does taste like an ipa. A lot of brands I tried tasted sugary. Brooklyn brewery has a few that weren’t too bad-I think they have a grapefruit ipa which you might like. Take care!
Hi there! Really like the video, and the tasting part was really fun too watch. I was wondering if there is as much research about sugar consumption in the same way as for alcohol, thinking about safe consumption (in terms of not increasing significantly the risk of getting diabetes e.g.). I'm a little tired of hearing people calling sugar (and not even refined sugars) "poison" and the stigma associated with that, and the other day I found myself comparing sugar and alcohol, as being things that are better consumed with moderation. I don't actually know if the comparison was actually accurate though 😊 Thanks for the video and keep the good work
Good question! It’s a much harder thing to investigate because “sugar” comes in many forms from table sugar to high fructose corn syrup to honey to fruit to just carbohydrates generally. And how our body responds to sugar depends heavily on the context in which it’s consumed. So sugar in a beverage will have a bigger impact than sugar in a dressing that goes on a salad for example because of the difference in fiber and the rate of consumption. Sugar is absolutely not poison though. Every cell in your body runs on sugar, however regular consumption of large amounts of added/refined sugar that is devoid of fiber does appear to have a negative effect on the body. Fruit and carbs from whole grains, beans, starchy vegetables, etc have consistently been shown to be beneficial. You don’t have to be moderate with those! sugar has also not been shown to cause diabetes. It does exacerbate diabetes, but the cause is fat deposits in non-adipose tissue and high fat diets appear to be a bigger mediator.
