    What kind of graver do you use ? Is it flat ?

    So..... What is that black slime thing called that holds the ring?

    • @scaffoal
      @scaffoal  5 років тому

    thanks for video on graver setup,
    how long did you stay on Arkansas stone?
    have been unable to get to the level of sharpness you did, close though

    • @scaffoal
      @scaffoal  2 роки тому

      just a few passes on the stone are enough to have a polished cut.

  • @probennett

    The thing he is using to hold the ring while he works is called Thermoplastic. It is a reusible plastic that you heat up in hot water to turn soft and it will self harden in around 30 seconds.

    • @kathryncastanares525
      @kathryncastanares525 6 років тому +2

      Although you most definitely can use thermo plastic, I think what he is actually using is pitch like what is used for chasing and repousse. Which is more of a resin wax I believe. I could be wrong too.lol but that's what it looks like to me.

    Grazie per questi video, insegnano tantissimo.
    Avrei delle domande, sempre che possiate rispondere.
    Che bulini avete utilizzato? Mi sembra all'inizio triangolare, ma non son sicura. Cambiate o usate sempre i soliti?
    E una domanda ancora più sempliciotta, Per 'togliere' l'oggetto dalla cera lacca usate di nuovo il fuoco oppure lo togliete con l'aiuto del fulcro del bulino?
    E per togliere le rimanenze della cera lacca dall'oggetto usate dell'acetone per scioglierlo o cos'altro?
    Grazie ancora per i vostri video.

    Isn't their a less labor intensive way to make a bead setting? This is how i learned it too, but i think their must be an easier way.

    Belo trabalho,qual buril você usa pra fazer os cortes espelhados?

    • @scaffoal
      @scaffoal  7 років тому

      Obrigado, uso lâminas para corte brilhante. Existem dois tipos de lâminas, uma com corte de aço mais forte e outra mais suave, adequada para incisões e acabamentos brilhantes.

      First, it is not a diamond It is a synthetic stone (Cubic Zircon) , second, it is a simple exercise for anyone who wants to try, using only basic tools. I give you some advice, when you do the critical, try to bring an improvement. In the your profile I have not seen any video .
