This was so interesting to watch. I am learning all things about diamonds. The 4 C's and everything else relating to the finished product. They are just beautiful.💎💍
Ohhhh, man, I could have used this video at the beginning of my career, not at the end. I always thought I appreciated our diamond setter, but now, having seen the process, I can say I didn’t appreciate him enough!
New subscriber right here! I’d love to know more about the tolls you used. I am new to this and just getting started. I’d love to hit more then one like! 👍 WELL DONE!!!!! 👍
My first decent stone I cut was a 23ct Brazilian amethyst with a modified 8+8 cut and it came out beautifully. The nice big facets really let a lot of light bounce around in there 💎
OMG!! 😱 It takes supreme patience and skills to do this!! Wow!! Especially for the micropave… how do you make sure the tiny stones are secure without breaking it when securing the prongs?!! Wow!! I always worry my stones will fall out, which I recently have a band repaired because the stone got loose!! Luckily I caught it before losing the stone!! 🙄😅🙏
This is the dream for sure! The trouble is in how time consuming it is to do properly, I don't want to half ass anything, and as a result it will take time!
Do you ball bur to size and then using a twist drill later, drill through the ring? Would you get nice holes on the back that way and less chance of drill through on an angle?
Im curious why you didnt use a setting burr and used a round burr ? also do you use brute force to form the prong bead or some sort of impact tool? Beautiful results.
Setting bur just isn’t needed. Round cuts a perfect seat, arguably better than setting bur which if not drilled perfectly straight can cause stones to sit off level. And yes just by hand, I try to keep my beads size 8 or below and only hand push them.
would love to see a video on the graver you used for the production of these beautiful cuts...what was that tool you made for countersinking the back of the ring...loved the vid! thx
I'm new to the concepts of stone setting. I'm seeing lots of debris left in the areas the diamonds will cover even with initial stones shown being placed. Is the debris completely cleaned after cutting there seats and before the actual stones are actually set?
Have a look on Ebay or your local buy and sells, there are some jewellery Facebook groups as well or sometimes engraverscafe.com people will post things for sale as well
To observe your Work of precision was truly fascinating! The extreme sharpness of your chisel, made the metal look almost as if it was made of cheese. Simply B e a u t I f u l !
This is the first diamond setting video where i could actually see whats being done. Great work 💯

Hey ian can you do online course from the very start beginner to advanced stone setting step by step course like one after the other
This is the dream for sure! The trouble is in how time consuming it is to do properly, I don't want to half ass anything, and as a result it will take time!
Hey sir what machine do you use to engrave the metal
Love this video, thank you for sharing ❤

Whats the tool you used that pushed down on the prongs?
Nice seating
Good one Ian!

Hey.very jusfull video. What gravering do you use? Graversmith from grs? Any cheper alternnative maybe is?
"Great movie! Can you tell me what kind of tool is used for setting stones? Do you use glue for it, or does it work on vacuum? Best regards."
Are u doing that free hand or is it a machine doing it?
You work with wich zoom ? 2x? 3x?
thanks was just wondering how these rings are made , found this video.
Glad I could help!
Sir, Please tell me... Curving technique🙏
Perfect bro. Diamonds have a strange polish. Am I right?
Did you use the beading tool with the graver or just with hand pressure?
GRACIAS PROFESOR
Do you use a normal rotary tool when cutting the outlines with the carver? It won’t break if you stop it from spinning?
멋지고 깔끔하네영👍🏻
I’m such a fan of your work, and it inspires me a lot.
do you know what degree is your Onglette?
Do you ball bur to size and then using a twist drill later, drill through the ring?
Would you get nice holes on the back that way and less chance of drill through on an angle?
All correct yes!
Im curious why you didnt use a setting burr and used a round burr ? also do you use brute force to form the prong bead or some sort of impact tool?

Its just a 60 degree V
Hi, did you use the same ball bur size for the diamonds or 0,1 smaller ? Thanks
I do yes, though when getting down below 0.9 Ill calibrate them a little larger, so for a 0.7 ill get 0.68-0.72 for 1.0 I would grab 0.95-1.0
Beautiful ,
Thank you!
Thank you it was helpful

Most is cleaned before stones, but the remainder comes off in the ultrasonic after setting
how to make this picture at the end?
Awesome video !
Can I question something?
That tool that you use is a pulse graver??? 🙏😎👍🇨🇴
Thank you! Yes this is a pulse graver
@@setting-the-standard A pulse graver?! Is that better than a gravermax? And thanks for that lovely video!
@@fernandofernandez9354 Not better, but not worse. Different. Good tool, could use more power, but I like it
Why didn't you cut any seats for the diamonds?
I did, using the ball but, I just don’t cut a groove to click them into, it’s not necessary
How you space the diamond evenly on full ET ring
Tricky, but not too tricky, I use dividers and keep walking them around till it works out
@@setting-the-standard this and how to layout halos would be an awesome video
thanks for video
Please tell me Th machine name's?
