thanks for simplifying how to make super juice in order to make it last longer. for me it's not the cost of the limes, but the waste of throwing away limes that have gone bad in my fridge!
I'm so glad I found this channel. I had never heard of Cimarron before seeing it mentioned here. The quality for the price, it is become my go-to tequila.
I can see that it will be margarita time at my house in Chiangmai, Thailand. I have 3 lime trees and the space to plant 3-4 more. I’ve got at least 4 or 5 bottles of tequila that I took over in 2004, before liquid in carry on bags was restricted. I’ll post her in November how my margaritas turned out.
Heading out to your place again for my birthday on November 15th, my wife is taking me and both families can’t wait to introduce people to your restaurant and bar! Name change scared me but as long as it’s still your place, or even more your place I’m thrilled to go!
Woooo! Yes can't wait to celebrate with you. And sorry for the jump scare hahaha just had to get people's attention, but also mark the end of an era and the beginning on a new one.
Id like to thank you for guiding me to real tequilas, ive been on the celebrity tequila for a bit now. Ur videos have helped me understand how tequila is supposed to taste and ive been highly enjoying! thanks brother!
You turned me on to Cimarron a while back for economical margaritas and I have stayed with it. I don't look to make under a $1 rita at home but nice job on how to do it.
Product wise yes this is great. Time paying a bartender added makes that Margarita well out of reach at a dollar. But still this was a fun video. Cheers 😅
So funnily enough, I wrote the general outline for this video months ago, recorded in a month ago, and just released it yesterday. While we were editing it, I watched Steve's video on pseudo citrus and I thought to myself "Crap! I wish I saw this a few weeks ago"
Great video! A small nitpick is that the final cost of the recipe would be $1.04, as just the tequila and the triple sec would add up to $1. And at first I was wondering why not go 2:1:1 and skip the simple syrup, but that would make it more expensive and more Dekuyper taste lol. Thank you for sharing!
Pretty hard for you to squash the prices even more. Only way is to cut the middle- man aka retailer and have the needed ingredients delievered to you. Without the margin of the retailer (roughly 30% [atleast in Germany] overall) your first recipe is basicly 1$ ... pretty impressive!
Really shows how bars are really the money maker part of a restaurant. Nothing wrong with that but just interesting that much of the revenue comes from the bar.
Yeah i mix cocktails with medium priced spirits selfmade syrups etc and most of my cocktails cost around 2€ or less in production despite using good quality ingredients. I am being generous with the alcohol cuz i feel guilty at times
Oh yeah its getting insane nowadays. Most cocktails realistically cost a few bucks to make at home and probably less with wholesale ingredients. And yet most bars charge 10-15 dollars minimum
@@kbrichmo8547 ya one the reason I got into cocktails. It is not hard to do and way cheaper. The going out experience does not match its cost most of the time.
Ice and Hot water are not free, neither is salt and the clean-up... Probably adds a few cents to the price. But thanks very much for this Econ of Margarita lesson. If you could spend $2.00, what would you change
My man went all out and that's very respectable! You did a lot of work and I applaud what you done for us
Thanks friend 😁🙏🏼
Bro you introduced me to cimarron and I thank you. Great piece and I always feel great.
Great to hear! ☺️

Happy you enjoy it! 😄
This was a cool video. Fun to watch and great to see how you make a good Margarita on a tight budget. Thanks.

Love Cimarron! I’ll have to check out the Marie triple sec. I can always taste the DeKuyper.
This looks good! That super juice is a science project😂😹

How about a video of making a large batch of margaritas for a party?
Id like to thank you for guiding me to real tequilas, ive been on the celebrity tequila for a bit now. Ur videos have helped me understand how tequila is supposed to taste and ive been highly enjoying! thanks brother!
Thank you for the kind words friend! Happy to help 😁🙏🏼

Awesome! I did a similar video a few months ago! I didn't go under a dollar though, but tried to keep the quality up and the cost down.
Product wise yes this is great. Time paying a bartender added makes that Margarita well out of reach at a dollar. But still this was a fun video. Cheers 😅
Interesting stuff as always! A business still needs to add operations costs etc to that. Cheap drinks as a loss leader possibly.
You should try pseudo citrus instead of super juice. Apparently it’s better but I haven’t had them side by side

Wait you need to tell us your recommendation on the best triple sec for margaritas!!!
Great video once again!
Limes are a quarter at my walmart, a dollar a lime is a rip off
GOOD limes, or limes in different parts of the US, will have highly variable prices.
Walmart limes are like wet bricks
At my local Safeway it’s 4 for $5 ($1.25 each). For “large” limes that are small af. It’s ridiculous.
walmart lime is not worth putting in a cocktail
I love Cimarron.
Cimarron is where it's at!
would you recommend el jimador? please im from canada our options are very limited
Can't stand cheap drinks from these kinds of restaurants. I love high quality ingredients!! Worth every penny!! 🙂
How are you getting limes for 19 cents?
What scale are you using?

How about avoiding the cheap triple sec by making a Tommy's Margarita?
Not a bad idea! Agave is more expensive than sugar so I'm not sure how they would equate out in costs. But not a bad idea

Food profit margins are awful, restaurants and bars need to make money somehow. Unfortunately

If I could spend $2.00 I'd probably just use Cointreau as my triple sec.
Limes are free on my tree…
Can't believe you bought ten pounds of citric acid, lol.
Lmao I'm committed to winning
The final breakdown sums 1.04, not one dollar
0.03 + 0.01 + 0.12 + 0.88 =1.04
That’s $1 at cost. Bars would have to mark that up to $3 at least, if not $5.
I won't even eat their nasty food, let alone they're nasty Margaritas. Yuck.
