    GREAT video. So many other sources on the web explained this in the most complicated and convoluted way EVER, but this was really clear. Many thanks from a struggling college physics student!

    Can he get to the other side of the boat with no boat movement if he turns and moon-walks? push forward slide backwards? Could not resist, sorry; great video and thanks!

    Thank you so much. In my hw the km/h were also given to throw us off so I was waiting for velocity to come into play into this hahaha

    Hi this is vikram from India,
    I like your videos very much. Animations could have included to these types of problems. Please provide animations too.. Humble request..

      I’m not even sure how to begin with simulations. I agree it would be better but I’m not sure I have the time. Thanks for your support!

      @@PhysicsNinja yes u r right ... It's difficult to make animation for all question but I think only this question need animation ... I think it will be better'

    Hey hi... I had a doubt..
    If the man is walking on the boat (which I assume is on frictionless surface) Then to a observer (outside the boat) would see that the man is standing still while the boat moves back right? (I hope you can visualise what I am trying to say)
    Like The boat the move back.... but the man would stay there...
    But in many simulations online, that is not what they show... Why is this?
    Will the man move ahead as well? IF yes, then how?

    • @alpanasatpathy2789
      @alpanasatpathy2789 Рік тому

      If there is no friction then there would not have been any movement.
      Friction is a must.
      If there were no friction then the man would not have been able to push the boat backwards as you visualise.
      Hope you get what I mean.

    If use direct formula for displacemnt of the boat viz = ml/M+l it comes out to be 1.38 m but you are getting 3.08 m displacemnt how?
