the original script of MoM was so much better, wanda and strange working together against nightmare, and her mentoring america, but whilst slowly being corrupted by the darkhold and the nightmares as the movie went on, to where at the end she became the full villain which was to then be a major plot point in a future movie (marvel originally wanted her to be a villain in an avengers movie, not MoM, but michael waldron insisted on her being the villain in MoM)
I hate the fact that the new writer for Doctor strange 2 decided to change a great script just because he didn’t want to wait and wanted Wanda as the villain in his movie, doctor strange 2 had so much potential to be great
Really goes to show what I think the biggest issue with phase 4 is. It's all just completely irrelevant to everything else going on. Selfish writers/directors not working together to be apart of one amazing whole, but instead trying to get their 5 minutes in the spotlight at the cost of the entire Play
@@gg_sam7847 Pretty much. I've even been told from insider that Benedict would TRY and work on the script with Waldron, only for Waldron to dismiss him. Really goes to show something weird was going on when the FIRST TIME SCREENWRITER has more power than the main actor does.
That first trip always make me so upset. What do you MEAN THEY DIDNT KNOW WHAT WAS HAPPENING IN WANDAVISION WHEN THEY WERE MKAING MULTIVERSE! WHY ARE YOU ASKING US TO WATCH ALL THESE INTERCONNECTED MOVIES AND SHOWS IF YOUR WRITERS DONT-
@@Zxykaryto be fair, if you view this movie in a vacuum it’s not the worse thing ever made. i personally remember enjoying it a decent amount in the theater day one but i do understand the issues
@@cheapcyborg4866 you're right i enjoyed the movie for what it was. I think where the resentment comes from is just the sloppiness of it all. Like this is MARVEL theres no reason a linear story should ever be that sloppy. Especially when you take into account they pushed the movie so far back.
It's such a shame the original leaked story wasn't the final product. Wanda staying with Steven after Westview, bonding and healings together. Helping his group and tutoring Chavez to fight Nightmare across the multiverse. Coming across variants of Billy and Tommy and grieving more at would could have been, while planting the seed of "what if it still could be?". Which she ends up succumbing to those thoughts and breaks away from the group after defeating the villain. To go find a place to be with her kids. Wong tries to stop her knowing the ramifications but she accidentally DECAPTATES HIM!!! Apologizing on her way out to a different universe leaving Strange there... Chile... I would have eaten that up CHOMP CHOMP!!!
Something I find interesting is that in WandaVision, the commercials were originally intended to be Doctor Strange trying to reach Wanda from outside of Westview. That plotline was ultimately cut from the series because they thought he would pull focus. However, if they had stuck with the original script idea for Multiverse of Madness or at least required Michael Waldron and Sam Raimi to read the WandaVision finale script (or even watch the series once most of it was completed, which it was long before Multiverse of Madness was halfway through), they could have had Strange bring it up in Multiverse of Madness.
@@lainiwakura1776 Oh he had more than enough influence on the actual film, from how scenes played out, to certain effects, to many (many) references to his past works riddled throughout the whole thing. If he wanted it, he could've gotten it added to the script.
The best thing about MoM is Lizzie's performance. Even when she knows this movie is shitty, she's still giving it her all because she loves being Wanda.
As a Doctor Strange fan, i was disappointed that they didn’t dig more into his own lore. He had to split his movie with Wanda, America, and the illuminati and as a result, those people did get enough depth.
Literally this. He’s beside Tony my favourite in the mcu and I waited years for a doctor strange 2… only for him to be more dumbed down going from turning a black hole into butterflies to being tossed around😭
i mean really it was wanda’s movie dr just got included for nothing. they both deserved separate movies. i don’t know what else needs to be said about dr though.
Wanda (and by extension, Elizabeth Olsen ) have been handled so badly by the MCU, similar to Agent Carter (Hayley Atwell) which rebranded her into Captain Carter lmao
@@TouchgrassplzAgent Carter getting canceled still hurts. That was a wonderful, fun, interesting and grounded show. Marvel is really a letdown when it comes to shows, other than WandaVision, Daredevil, Punisher and Jessica Jones.
the fact that the writers didn't even watch wandavision is actually so trash it forever stained my opinion of how they treated her arc as a result, esp after how amazing her development was in that show
Like why did no one at Disney Marvel get them the WandaVision script???? I get that it was still in post production so hadn’t been released for them to have watched it but seriously??? Clearly no one at Disney is on the same team
The fact that writers and producers of MCU projects are not required to consume previous MCU media of that character is insane But also makes so much sense seeing how they have a character acting vastly different ways in different movies, they go from serious, to comedic relief, to lame, and it hurts Like goddamn they really don't care enough
Your friend the Dr Strange fan is correct. Strange takes a backseat to Wanda in his own movie, which is an odd choice. And everything you say about the redundancy of Wanda’s arc in MOM is astute as well! One thing more: Why wouldn’t Wanda simply scan the multiverse to find a world in which THAT Wanda had died and Vision was raising the boys alone? She could simply drop into their world and literally create the perfect happy ending-and she would have killed no one in the process! It makes no sense to build up the love Wanda has for Vision throughout several movies and an entire TV series and then have her conveniently forget Vision entirely!
They even could have some powerful demmon enemy from dr strange lore have posess wanda and him having to be smart and creative to help her free herself. You have weird demons, you didnt have to characte rassasinate her, when some weird powerful entity, that actually is a person could. And from stranges lore. Also yes, no vision?
That too, like I get that she's a mother now, but Vision is as important to her as their children heck their children exist because of her feelings towards Vision..... But anyway I'm not gonna rant about it 😂
In a vacuum, MoM was such a fun movie to watch with amazing visuals and a great villain. In context to the greater MCU and Wanda’s story arc, MoM was a character assasination. The only silver lining is that even though the darkhold was a cheap cope out, it gives space for Wanda to be able to come back and grow from all the mess that MoM was if she’s handled properly.
@@nightwish1453 I agree that she still should have accountability to take, but also she didn't know that it would corrupt her, in WandaVision they never mention it. Even if they did mention that it is the book of the damned. I think that her choosing to read it to learn more about herself even though she knew it was an evil book makes for an interesting moral dilemma to explore regardless.
@nightwish1453 True. I just think that Agatha was evil anyway. She (Wanda) could have easily thought that the Dark Hold was just a tool that could be used for good or bad, especially if she had not been told that the Dark Hold specifically corrupts people just by reading it. I also think that by the end of WandaVision she tells monica she's gonna figure out her power and how to use it, so is interested in learning about herself. The darkhold was just the obvious way to go about it because Agatha said there was a whole passage dedicated to her. Naturally she would want to read it then BOOM shes corrupted without even realizing it.
@@nightwish1453 i get what you mean but my issue is the same could be said about your argument. You’re assuming a lot of what Wanda might have caught on to, but when you go based on what actually happened and was shown, she didn’t know. It could be argued that with subtext she might be able to infer it, but that argument is simply to flimsy imo and is all based on assumptions. Also I’m not making excuses, she clearly messed up in many ways, but multiple things can be true at once. We also don’t have to add imaginary things she did wrong lol. There’s plenty we can expect for her to make up for as is. However her intentions were always good which also can’t be ignored. Not an excuse, just multiple things are true at once here
@@nightwish1453i mean to be fair she didn’t even know she was this legendary all powerful being. that’s quite literally the whole point of wandavision. a journey of healing and self discovery. all she knew was that there was an entire chapter about her in there and she was told that power wasn’t her problem but knowledge. i think your being a bit too harsh on her character here.
i dont like wanda and i still think its bottom 5 movies in the mcu, boring ugly tone deaf movie. nothing to do with dr strange either, fucking pointless waste of time movie
Sometimes, though very rarely, the UA-cam algorithm puts in front of me a video so incredible that I'm shocked when I look at the subscriber count. Keep it up and you'll have millions. This. Was. Fantastic.
Wanda is the whole reason I got into marvel. I never really watched any of it until I kept seeing Wanda vision everywhere so I checked it out. I’ve never looked back since
My problem with the darkhold is that it was hinted throughout the movie. Instead, it was just thrown in there as a free get out of jail card. I would have it where Wanda is constantly hearing whispers in her head and every time she uses the dark hold she hides it from strange and America. Eventually becoming consume by her own desire.
Reminds me of how loki took the space stone at the end of Ragnarok. It would be so easy and understandable to show Wanda slowly being tempted to grab the darkhold behind Strange's back and convincing herself that she's doing the right thing. Sounds very compelling and Lizzie would have crushed it!
The thing that frustrates me most about MoM and Marvel’s continued downfall in general is the lack of communication between the writers. Phase 1, 2 & 3 worked because the writers were either communicating with each other or watching the marvel products they weren’t involved in, that’s kind of the nature of having multiple writers working on one universe, all the writers need to be up to code on what’s going so that characters and plots don’t get continually reset. Thanos was growing consistently throughout Phase 1, 2 & 3, with him making the most headway in Guardians of the Galaxy. He was only able to grow cause the writers were keeping track of where Thanos was, what Thanos were doing, and what our heroes were doing from movie to movie. Phase 4 throws that all out the window. The writers for MoM were not involved with WandaVision, didn’t even finish all of it, or were at all interesting in where Wanda’s character was left in Wandavision, which created the problem of the movie that Wanda retreads her storyline cause the writers couldn’t be bothered to keep up. This problem is not just left to MoM, it plagues Phases 4, 5, & 6. The writers are no longer talking to each other, keeping track of other marvel projects that they aren’t working on, and working off them. At best it ends up with little side stories like MoonKnight & Shang-Chi, where the stories are so self-contained and on their own it’s impossible to imagine how they continue to have a place in the story, and at worst it ends up with grand stories that just confuse the audience like the Celestials. There is no explanation for why the celestials don’t help out with Thanos, why they aren’t helping with Kang the Conquerer, and also there is a giant hand emerging from the planet that no other writer has expanded on it cause they don’t. Know. It. Exists. Off the top of my head their are 3 marvel products that are even connected at all, being the Kang plot that spans Loki, Ant-man Quantumania, & Loki 2. That’s it. Out of all the current projects we have, only 3 are actually connected. And it doesn’t seem like these products will connect either! Captain America: Brave New World is on it’s own trajectory completed disconnected to Kang, & the Pagan arc going on with Agatha all along. It’s all a fucking mess and it’s so baffling to see the writers go solo despite Marvel’s success being due to their TEAMWORK
Hah, for me it was experiencing _Multiverse of Madness_ and _Love and Thunder_ in succession. But then again, _Deadpool & Wolverine_ was quite fun and _Agatha All Along_ was great, so. Once in a blue moon.
@ Well, agree to disagree. I'm critical about several elements of it, but for me personally, the writing and execution exceeded MCU's recent quality, and considering its popularity, I'm not alone in that opinion.
I think MOM wound up being a huge mistake - and I think the buck stops with Fiege. If the MOM writers/director couldn't watch WandaVision to ensure her arc made sense, Fiege should have still made sure they were informed and that the story being told would be satisfying. If they needed her "killed off" to remove her from the story until the next Avengers movie for whatever reason, they could have had her sacrifice herself at the end of MOM without the weird repetitive storyline (except worse) beforehand.
They didnt need , have he rposessed by aa super powerful demon and needing to retreat and hang out with steven. They didnt to kill her to have her out and take a retreat.
You absolutely ate this video. Nothing but straight facts, good analysis and funny as hell commentary throughout. Hope I don't end up being the only person that makes a comment cuz more people definitely need to see this video.

To be fair tho, if u notice her accent only back on her more emotional speech (not just from WandaVision), Idk if it is intentionally or unintentionally but as someone with an accent, it makes sense 😂 I can understand that part
All I’ll say is thank the lord for Elizabeth Olsen because without her this travesty of a character would be at the bottom of the list in all of Marvel!

I am not a huge MCU fan, but I really enjoyed WandaVision so I thought I would check out her story in MoM. I was so confused, annoyed and disappointed!! They recycled the arc but made it shallow and unforgivable!
When MoM came out in 2022, I really didn't like to see people in the internet saying that Wanda's character was assasinated and that they killed her development in Wandavision, even if I did agree with these people internally. At the time I was still fascinated by Wanda and my love for her character, so I really was a bit immature when it came to defending her. However, now in 2025, I can truly see that her character was really done dirty and they didn't even care to show us her deconstruction into a villain. It's just like you said in the video, when I saw her as the antagonist in the movie I was like: "Slayyyy queen, as you should!!" but after a while I did realize that in terms of development that was a: "Oh my god, what did they do to herrr?" It's baffling to know that the writers of MoM didn't even care to see Wandavision at all and didn't even care to do a quick research to know what type of feedback people gave her in the internet, this is the most crucial part if you're going to turn a beloved character into a monster or mass genocider. It needs to be carefully done and with consistency. If they turned her into a villain at the end, it would make more sense, and throughout the movie, we could have seen her losing her mind, if the main factor of her transformation was the Dark Hold. A character as complex as Wanda needed to be deconstructed with love and care and attention and specially by people who KNOW what they're doing. Anyway, still waiting for her return and I think we can at least expect her reedeming herself if the writer of WV and Agatha All Along writes her again. Loved the vid! S2
I always felt like Multiverse of Madness could have been better as a 2 parter. 1 when Wanda teams up with Dr. Strange, America, Wong, and other heroes but slowly gets corrupted by the Darkholde, and the 2 will be where Scarlet Witch is fully corrupt and serves as the main villain.
This would have been great, solves the major problem the writers have of setting up a great story for someone else to have fun with and get the credit. Because I completely understand them for that, I'd be upset too in their situation. It's a revolving door of writers and creatives which is proving to be a toxic environment for characters. Marvel can't seem to let go of the whole "Avengers" standpoint when really the audience just wants really fleshed out solo/duo stories right now.
I cant believe its almost been 3 years and we dont know anything else of either Strange, Chavez, Wong and Wanda. Specially with the end being they caused and Incursion
Her sudden transformation to a villain really bothered me, I mean it's fine if they wanted to make her a villain, but atleast give her transformation a good phasing. Wanda went from isolating herself to protect others from her powers at the end of Wandavision, to being a full blown villian beyond reasoning in MoM.
She didn't isolate herself to protect others from her. 😂😂 She went into isolation to practice Dark Magic and study the Darkhold, it's literally in the after credits. A good person would have actually stayed to help heal the people she enslaved, instead of running away. She was definitely up to no good.
@watertommyz you said so yourself she was studying the darkhold because magic was a pretty new concept to her, she doesn't even know that what she did to Westview was a form of magic that's why she wanted to learn, it just so happens that the book corrupted her. Also that's the point isn't it? After what she did Wanda no longer sees her self as a "good person" so she left, I don't even think she ever saw herself as "good", Wanda has "accidentally" hurt a lot of people even before Wandavision, so it only makes sense that she isolated herself away from people who might get hurt because of her magic regardless of her intentions. That's why her transition to MoM felt out of place, or rather incomplete. Because while she did acquire the darkhold, her path to corruption was not properly established, at the end of Wandavision, she still feels regret but is already numb due to her past experience back in Civil War.
I loved seeing Wanda finally use the full extent of her powers in MoM, the Illuminati fight scene is my fav but I agree with the distaste of how her character was treated. The only crumbs we get about her decline is the end credit scene in Wandavision but nothing goes on from there. I just hope to see her interact with the new Billy & Tommy eventually. I also didn’t like how they nerfed Doctor Strange. He was so powerful in Infinity War, yet the next time he’s on screen he can barely keep up. It made no sense to hype him up as such a powerful magic user & then never show the full extent of his power.
Fully agree with everything. Wanda should win against Strange, especially with the Darkhold, but he barely put up a fight if we're honest. Where was the creativity in these fights that we saw in Infinity War against Thanos? And the crumbs about her decline... The end credit scene is the worst part. It doesn't fit with MoM *at all*. And it would have been so easy to fix. The Darkhold makes Wanda believe her children are in danger or her "actual" children could be rescued, that makes her actions logical. But her motivation in MoM was just trash.
It wasn't even the full extent of her powers. No matter what people say with the finale of Wandavision, she had much a more versatile arsenal of spells there than the 100th red laser blasts she did in MOM. Where's her teleport spell she learned from Agatha? She could have just ported right past everyone and grabbed America. She also barely used her rune magic apart from summoning those monsters at the beginning, like why didn't she summon those monsters to distract the sorcerers and get America before she opens a portal? Also she could have easily wrapped the entire Kamar-Taj with a Runed Hex that forbids magic users to use magic (I know it originally blocks witch magic but she's studied enough of the Darkhold to partially change the effects to ALL magic users as well) but it seems Waldron and Reimi only thought the Hex was just a form illusion to fool Strange in the beginning and not a combination of different spells all firing together simultaneously (transmutation, time manipulation, illusion casting, creation magic, reality warping, etc)
It’s also sad to me because, if you don’t know about it from other media, the Darkhold has no real indication that it’s a corrupting book in WandaVision. The only possible tells are the name “the book of the damned,” but one might not figure reading it just starts corrupting, and the music cue being an ominous Doctor Strange theme. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was successful in communicating that through the season. Like, just make the claim in Agatha’s trial that she was learning the forbidden magic via the Darkhold. That could at least lay a small connection point if that was the goal.
For MoM, I think they could have gone with a Wanda from another universe who was in her Villain Era, wreaking havoc for the same reasons (wanting to find her kids), and after getting his ass handed to him by her, Strange realizes the only person who can stop her is *our* Wanda, so he tracks her down, but she's hesitant because she doesn't want to use her powers too much and risk hurting anyone, but she reluctantly agrees because she also sees stopping her alt self as maybe a way to sort of make amends for what she'd done. However, her fear of losing control again causes her to falter, hold back, so she's not as strong as Evil!Wanda initially. Then we eventually give her the Tempatation by having Villain!Wanda offering to help her find a universe where she can be with Vision again (because honestly, I didn't think the whole 'going villain over the kids' made a lot of sense, seeing as they weren't *real*, and her real grief had been over losing Viz. Having an alternate universe Wanda desperate for the kids, because maybe in her universe they *had* been real, and had died, and that drove her to do what she's doing. It would be *far* more believable than what we got). Anyways, because our Wanda is in her hero redemption arc, she does ultimately refuse the temptation, and realizes that the only way she can move forward is to accept that she made mistakes, face them, and learn from them. She has to accept that she can forgive herself, even if the people she hurt don't forgive her, but part of truly making amends is knowing sometimes you don't get everyone's forgiveness. All you can do is live your life in a way so that you don't hurt anyone else going forward.
Imagine spending so many episodes with a character who is grieving, sympathizing with her loss and her struggle to recover from that loss - if even in the most unhealthy ways - but also learning, by the end, to accept that she can never bring back the people she loved and needed to stop because she's started hurting innocent people. A character who has done hurtful things about her grief, and watching her come to terms with that and learning to be a better person. And then just throw it out the window for a villain arc that was unearned, rushed and mediocre.
In Civil War, Captain America could have forbidden her from using her telepathinc abilities. That would have re-inforced him as the leader, and been a plausible reason for her to not use them in that fight. Her job was support. Period. Keep the principals in the fight. It was a team decision. Besides, as you pointed out, there were a lot of reasons for her to put that tool away, especially for this fight.
THANK YOOOOUUUUUU!!! I commented on some other review about this film on how I thought 💭 it was weird that she went through this whole arc to just be “crazy.” 🙄 People basically told me to shut the up… but today, I feel seen!😭
I gotta agree. I keep thinking about MoM, and don't get me wrong I'm always huge fan of Wanda, but the movie itself, it's best parts are the portions that focus on Doctor Stranges personal story. And it's kinda ruined by the mistreatment of Wanda and the multiverse cameos
I always feel a little bad for these actors who clearly care about their craft and get roped by their agents into being in multiple MCU movies (just a teeny bit, these guys are a fat paycheck after all). Lizzie clearly is one of those people who studies a character months in advance before shooting and she got stuck into being a B-level villain of a franchise where every writing and directing team do as they please with a character, so it's technically the same Wanda, but also it's a completely different character with different beliefs and motivations in every movie and show, and it's partially HER job to make sense of that to the public.
I liked her character so much, I hated her brother died so early on. I hated her evil arcs. I wanted her to continue on the good storyline. I also thought her mentoring America Chavez would have been really cool and a better use of both characters
Great vid! I remember being so excited for Mom and wanting to see how scarlet's witch arc would play out, she is a character that I related so much and watching her total regression in the movie felt like a personal attack
Isn't it fun to see mediocre men get hired for big projects, have them fail astronomically and still continue to get hired for other big projects? Hollywood is ridiculous.
In civil war wanda couldn’t use her mind powers. She was still fighting against heroes and some of them were her teammates. I had a problem with her not using them in infinity war but for civil war it makes sense. Cap ordered them to hold team iron man off not to seriously hurt them physically or mentally.
@@squiddler7731 exactly especially after she regretted the things she did in she of ultron. Mind control is seem as a very immoral power so she’d probably not wanna cross that like again especially if she doesn’t need to. Same for the fear mind powers as well, cause that fucked up the avengers pretty bad the first time and lead to a lot of damage like hulk destroying a city.
Fight me if you want but for me, wandavision made age of ultron, CW, and infinity war better by giving them depth to the character in just one show and the fact that it's in just one episode (40mins)
I’m so grateful marvel made WandaVision. They did something new and really pulled it off. Especially as a Wanda fan, we couldn’t have asked for a better character exploration
Hi darling!! first time on the channel. LOVE this video, love your takes on my poor girl Wanda. I love that you've given the writers the benefit of the doubt AND tried to find rugs to cover their plotholes as a fan of the character. huge fan of you, immediate subscribe. :)
I will never forget my experience watching MoM. Never before have I been so disappointed in a movie. To the point, I couldn’t even defend it when leaving the theatre. I remember when I saw The last Jedi, I coped a little and thought I liked it(till I thought about it more). But for MoM, I literally left thinking it was shit and told my friend who was the biggest Dr strange fan it was shit(She told me she literally regretted watching since the first movie was one of her favorite marvel movies). Just kind of wild to me that the MCU never really recovered from that movie. It’s sad though because it ruined so many cool characters(Wanda being the biggest)
The argument that MoM is just "recycled WandaVision" completely downplays the fact that the thing about WV that was good was her going through her grief and giving context to the events of Endgame. As far as the argument of "oh this already happened, we shouldn't have to see it again" yeah, that works for a lot of things, but not this. Grief is not a "one and done" thing. She took the first step to even acknowledging she was grieving at the end of WV, at the same time that she came into possession of the Darkhold-a book that literally corrupts its reader and manipulates them into chasing after their greatest desire by any means. If you've seen Agents of Shield, you know that it's powerful enough to corrupt A.I.D.A and she was artificial intelligence-not even human. What makes you think that Wanda-still very much at the front of her grief, with the Book of the Damned at her side-would just be completely past her grief in her next appearance just because she acknowledged it? The only real argument that supports MoM being a parallel to WV is the fact that her actions were because of grief she wasn't able to process, and she overcame it. In WV she wasn't able to process the grief because the pain of her situation mixed with her ability to rewrite reality literally manifested her grief all around her-not unlike the way that someone grieving would only see the bad and everything that they lost around them, just more literally because it's fiction. In MoM, she was corrupted by a book that canonically (as far as the MCU) no one was able to fight against on their own. The part where your argument doesn't hold up is the fact that a lot of her actions in MoM were her own, despite being corrupted by the Darkhold. She was holding back a considerable portion of her power throughout the entire movie because she could recognize that what she was doing was wrong-which she learned from WV-and was the only person in the MCU able to break free of the Darkhold's persuasion without outside help. She didn't face reality at the end of MoM, she broke free of the lie she was being fed by the Darkhold that everything would be better if she got her children by any means. To say that she learned nothing from her experiences in WV is to say that you didn't watch MoM all that closely. In MoM, you have a mother grieving the loss of her husband and the children they could have had, having daily recurring dreams of them, with the Darkhold whispering in her ear at every other moment. She had the power to summon monsters across dimensions and dreamwalk into another version of herself, and those were just the entry-level Darkhold spells. We're talking about the book that gave Agatha the power to resist the Scarlet Witch and go undetected for as long as she did. We're talking about a woman with the power to legitimately rewrite reality, and yet America evaded her for as long as she did with absolutely no idea how her powers even worked. If you believe that Wanda, whose monster killed another version of Stephen without hesitation, was fully, genuinely trying to capture or incapacitate America for the entire movie and wasn't holding back at all, I think you may underestimate how powerful she actually is. Just like she broadcast what she was doing to Westview as a cry for help, she sent monsters and creatures after America instead of going herself. Throughout the entire movie, she never really even hurt America directly. Why? Because she couldn't bring herself to hurt a child. She knew that what she was doing was wrong enough to stop her from simply taking the most effective route she could, and gave everyone *so* many chances to stop her. Raiding Kamar-Taj, rather than lifting up the entire mountain, or simply breaking through the barrier that she 100% could have broken through-we're talking about the same person that held off Thanos while he had several infinity stones, and she wasn't even fully awakened as the Scarlet Witch *and* didn't have the added power boost of possessing the Darkhold-she used her usual blasts of energy and a mental attack that they were perfectly capable of defending against, that only worked because there were newer recruits there. Kamar-Taj at a normal level of defense with only fully trained sorcerers present would have defended against that with no issues. Not only was she severely holding back, she gave them several opportunities to stop her-even going so far as to stop and talk to Stephen before attacking, even after giving the initial warning. Dreamwalking into her alternate self and raiding the Illuminati base, we're taking someone with genius-level intellect to accurately predict and nullify the powers of people she's probably never seen, or even heard of, in the heat of battle, in a body that she took over 5 minutes ago, *with reality manipulation powers* that still gave them the opportunity to avoid fighting her. Again, if you've seen Agents of Shield you know what the Darkhold's corruption looks like-it's not that. The level of self restraint she showed was only possible because of Agatha making her face her grief at the end of WV. She didn't even bother to check that Wong, the current Sorcerer Supreme, actually died from being pushed off a mountain despite knowing that he's one of the best sorcerers out there. She gave him the opportunity to save himself and try to stop her again, rather than simply killing him like she did the Illuminati. Here, you can see that not only is she uncomfortable hurting children (America), but she also hesitated when it comes to her own allies and friends. All of this climaxes at the end of the movie where-just like in WV-she was faced with the reality of her actions. She saw the fear on her children's faces and looked within herself and saw that what she was doing was wrong. Even better? The other version of her-you know, the one that literally had her body taken over and probably sat there in horror as she was made to kill half a dozen people-saw in herself the same potential to do exactly what our Wanda did, and offered her grace and understanding instead of anger. She knew that neither of them would do anything to hurt their children, regardless of anything else. Considering Vision was nowhere to be seen, she probably went through a similar experience with her grief at losing him, just like our Wanda did, that allowed her to understand their shared pain. At the end of the movie she destroys the Darkhold in every universe-which, by the way, if she could do that by basically snapping her fingers, she could have *easily* killed everyone on Mount Wundagore, let alone detain them long enough to get what she wanted-so that no one else could be corrupted the way she was, because she knew that no one else had the power to break free of it like she did. She toppled the mountain against her in a symbolic gesture, much like stopping the broadcast in WV, as a way to say that she was wholly and completely done with the world that had hurt her and that she hurt so badly. She quite literally brought her burdens down upon her as a way to atone for everything that she'd done, probably because she felt that after losing everything she had, there was no greater punishment for her, and that she deserved to be punished for her actions. You see a story where a woman supposedly past her grief is "repeating the same mistakes." I see a story about how grief is not a straight line; about a mother with the power to rewrite reality feeling powerless when it comes to the life and children that she could have had; a person who grew up in strife, who made friends and formed a family only to have it all crumbling down by her own hands. To expect that she should just be okay after all of that is to insult everything she's been through. Respectfully.
The way they could've have her as x-men or advenger level threat, but that horrible writer wasted her on ds2. No wonder Lizzie did NOT want to return unless she was written by good writers
Watching MOM for the first time was so heartbreaking. It was nice seeing this amazing character have her powers on full display but man did they assassinate her character. She does some questionable things in the comics and it's great because her character arc is full of ups and downs which makes her human. However, here it was like she had her down, went through character development and then instantly went against that development. Now it just feels like no matter what she does in the MCU, she can never be truly redeemed which is rlly dissapointing.
PLEASE, you, and EVERYONE, if you haven't already, embrace the One True Only God YHWH Jehovah, Only One Jesus Christ His Only Begotten Son and Lord and Savior of our souls and the Only One Holy Spirit. God is good. God is love. Jesus is Lord! Jesus IS coming. Your soul depends on it! I have seen God act in my life. He saved my soul, changed my heart, changed my mind, helped people through me, took care of people in my life, people I hurt before I found God. God is the only reason I was able to reconcile with my dad before he died. God worked through Jesus Christ to save our souls. Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins. Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and that God raised Him from the dead and you will be saved. Be baptized in The Holy Spirit, and if He wills, water as well. Repent of your sins, accept God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into your heart, that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ, that all who believe on Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jesus Christ is The Way, The Truth and The Life. No one comes to the Father Jehovah God but through Him. Not long after I got saved I prayed to God for help understanding the Holy Bible, and that same day someone knocked on my door asking me if I wanted to understand the Bible. I have had times where I was thinking about Holy Bible quotes and have stumbled across them flipping through The Holy Bible at random the same/next day and prayed to God for His joy to grant me comfort in hard times and felt it blessed upon me, and God's blessings of peace that have taken away a lot of my anger. God is here for you if you let Him guide you. The Holy Bible says, "love thy enemy", "turn the other cheek", "If your enemy is hungry, feed him", "if he is thirsty, give him a drink", "pray for those who persecute you", "do not repay evil for evil". LORD willing, all humans may commit sin of almost every kind (gay, straight), and that's wrong, and all humans sin, as God tells us through the The Holy Bible, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus." The Holy Bible also says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.", "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." and, “For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."
WANDA WAS MCU KINO. This is what gets me about the MCU. They keep doing this to my favorite characters. First Avengers made me really like Hulk, a tortured side character who came to accept the scary part of themself through found family, same as Wanda. But then they turned him into a massive problem in Avengers 2, and ironically the same thing happens to Wanda in Strange 2.
Another couple of ideas I thought to explain about her lack of telepathy: maybe, like Katara and blood bending, Wanda feels it's too unethical. Or, similar to telepathy lore explained in X-Men media, the telepathy works well on people untrained to deal with it and after becoming part of the team the rest of the avengers got better at resisting it so it wouldn't have helped/been more trouble than it's worth Good video so far Yeah maybe story wise Wanda in DS2 may not be liked by some, but it does make total sense by Marvel standards and MCU setup. It is the darkhold, which is the most corrupting thing in the universe. She was given it in WV which definitely set up evil Wanda. And in marvel comics plenty of characters including Wanda and stories tend to go in circles like that from good to bad to good to bad again so on and so forth. It honestly would've made less sense for her to not be corrupted by the darkhold. I do think maybe they could've somehow shown deeper how the darkhold is affecting her and the strength of character and unconditional love for her alt children it took to break free from it. Perhaps it getting destroyed from the energy of her love amplified magic destroying it. Perhaps a different path would've been better. Hard to say. I do like the idea of her being a stand in mother for America. Maybe that's still a possibility.
I really feel as though you just ripped off my Wanda glasses for the first time. I have never put together the words this exact feeling. I’ve always excused her actions and never cared about the people she hurt. And realizing we got the same story twice just with more slay, is INSAAAANE
This video quality is so good and the video writing is amazing! you made some great points even I felt the weird writing for Wanda's character keep it up! (btw I subbed)
I mean I hated they dropped dimensional magic with mirror dimension. They had such unique asthetic, so mind blowing, but Strange is now cliche mage and Wanda just become "corrupted" was just so uninteresting. And why a Magical army rely on arrows and cannons...?
I've been following your videos for a hot min and I love your video structure - I also love that you're a die hard wanda stan (Like me) pls keep making videos!!!
"How do you feel about that, Dr. Strange fans?" I'd be fine with it if they hadn't derailed Wanda's character. I'm not huge on Tony Stark, but his spotlight stealing scenes in Civil War were so well-done and progressed his character arc in such a way that I didn't mind. If Wanda hadn't be abruptly turned into a villain in a way that felt so clunky, I'd have had the same, "I'm not remotely mad about this!" reaction.
21:17 you know, I had managed to forget just how much I disliked Wanda and Vision’s romance when Infinity War first came out 😂 all of your points are spot on and I love the analysis. You’ve got a new subscriber here!
I think Wanda can be redeemed and given the good writing she deserves if they bring her back and put some focus on her discovery that her sons are alive and the process of trying to build a relationship with them - especially since Billy has such confused and complicated feelings about her now - as well as White Vision's upcoming return. The stage has been set for some more magnificent character stories involving Wanda, White Vision, Tommy, Billy, and probably Ghost-Agatha too, and I hope to all that is good and holy that Marvel doesn't mess it up.
I will always be sad over how MoM turned out. DS, WV, MoM could have been perfect trilogy after Cap's. But it got ruined. Strange's inclusion was perfect in WV. He orginally had a sister. He could see himself in Wanda. Both sharing a moment of loss and wishing to have what they never had. Then Strange taking Wanda under his wing as big brother. Such a sweet moment. I remember how excited I was on the prospect of Strange's cameo in WV. 😭 MoM did nothing in terms of story. It was basically WV. Strange got negligented in his own movie. Wanda out of nowhere becomes evil. But most stu:;; of all was Wanda let Chavez's name slip out when she was so desperate to have her that she sent a Multiversal monster to chase her but when Strange unknowingly comes to her. Instead of her taking advantage of Strange she just slips? That's it! 🙄 It has duxx plotline!
I'm just going to say this after seeing Sonic 3, Shadow is a much better written character when it come to grief and the audience feeling his sympathy.
I was following this video right up until 25:29 when you stated that WandaVision ended with Wanda "ready to take accountability and responsibility for her actions.", whilst literally showing a clip from the show of her NOT doing that and fleeing the scene before the authorities arrive, thereby negating your argument. Look, I'm a Wanda fan too and at the time of its release I LOVED WandaVision, but we cannot ignore the blunder that was Wandavision's finale; between Monica's godawful line to Wanda and Wanda literally leaving and turning herself in (among other issues of the show, like scenes of Wanda knowledge of what she's doing to Westview, contradict each other at times), WandaVision is basically the start of Wanda's character's downfall. I just feel like if we're going to showcase how badly Marvel screwed up her character, we should address ALL of the bad that happened with Wanda in phase 4. Because let's be honest with ourselves, WandaVision (while not as catastrophically horrendous as MoM) is the start of it all. MoM just doubles down on it.🤣
my apologies for that "ready to take accountability and responsibility for her actions" line, especially with a clip of her fleeing her crime scene 💀 my bad, i was hacking away editing this video at 3 am, thats on me (it is unintentionally funny looking at that clip now though) i think i meant to say "ready to take accountability and responsibility for her future," as that ending made me feel like she was just starting her development as the scarlet witch. she was coming out of her debilitating grief and ready to learn about and seize her destiny. but damn, i fumbled that one real bad. that's on me man!!! also, yeah... we have a joint hatred for that "they'll never know what you sacrificed" or something line from monica. ill be washing dishes on a tuesday night and randomly remember that line with horror. that finale had a lot of misses
I saw the Darkhold the same way I saw the symbiote in Spider-Man 3, the symbiote corrupted Peter but Peter still made those choices he made, and eventually made the choice to rid himself of the symbiote. Which now just dawns on me that Wanda’s arc is just a carbon copy of that character arc 💀💀💀💀💀 difference is Peter had a Gradual Decline in his sense of morality meanwhile Wanda at the start of the movie has a higher body count than Bonnie blue straight out of the gate
The MoM writers that changed the original story/plot of the MoM ruined the movie. And they should've let Raimi cooked. Wanda's journey was doing well but MoM ruined it a little.
What I would give to see Jack Schaefer involved in a Wanda screenplay❤, Shane was a literary study for me in high school. Stellar vid thanks! I still love Wanda’s character and it doesn’t surprise me how writers can do character assassinations on some of the most intriguing ones. They had Wanda become horror girl villains like Carrie and like Amara from The Ring as a nod to horror yes, but she could have done so much for the story and connected with Strange instead, even if she struggled too much and made the same mistakes again. They could have treated the Darkhold as an addiction for her and had her try to separate herself from it in MoM at the end but fail, giving her some window back with rehabilitation. They could have had Strange mentor her on how to respect power and powerful objects instead of abuse it then realize he had to fight her all along. If it was treated as an addiction, I can and will tell you the number of people who can connect to that is numberless.
I love Wanda, and I adore the scene where her other universe self holds her mad self and soothes her, but I one hundred percent think her character suffered due to the fact that it was a doctor strange movie and not her own.
I remember how I was actually so excited for Multiverse of Madness after watching Wandavision, and that was abnormal for me because I don't really care that much about the MCU or actively follow it at all. But to actually be excited to see where they go next with the character, and then do... that. It saddened me. Well, atleast Agatha All Along was (mostly) good.
also, the darkhold was supposed to have been destroyed in agents of shield, which expands its lore waaaaay more than just 'spell book' but they chose to ignore all that
Retro-time-period special episodes, a Darkhold corruption arc, a character wrapping reality to resolve their own regrets and trapping others within that world, a parent raising and having to let go of a not-real child, heroes with sympathetic villain arcs … oh wait, I already saw all that in Agents of Shield seasons 3 and 4. After watching Marvel retread these themes in Wanda Vision, it was clear writers weren’t being told to watch other Marvel material and I wasn’t surprised when MoMadness stomped all over WandaVision’s character arc. Disappointed, but not surprised. At least WandaVision was done with love. What really took me out of MoM was the ham-fisted way they introduced America’s textbook backstory by stepping on that weird path … so abrupt and random it was kind of funny. Couldn’t take anything seriously after that.
Wanda vision is the story of how a lifetime of grief and pain can affect someone's mental health so much that they become a villain while Dr strange 2 is a story that tells a mentally ill woman that she is so bad only suicide could ever set things right. What they did to her is disgusting.
i love this so much and i'd love to see more videos like these with more characters. (especially natasha i have so many feelings on how to mcu did her)
Like you said about Wanda being a supporting character; Doctor Strange felt like a supporting character in infinity war and endgame after his solo movie, I enjoyed his arc and overall am a fan of magic related action in movies. MoM would’ve been cool Strange actually was made out to use cool spells against Wanda but the movie makes him just run away and his sling ring gets conveniently destroyed and he just does nothing to fight back or utilize any spells, meanwhile Wanda is just doing whatever’s convenient for the plot and America Chavez and Wong are just there doing whatever.
I think in Civil War, Wanda CHOSE not to do all the things you mentioned because of her trauma in Lagos. Seeing the consequences first hand especially that who she is fighting are still her friends technically, which makes sense why she reverted to just doing basic attacks.
More than anything, I wish that Agatha had stayed with Wanda and helped her. It's so frustrating to me that she apparently wanted to mentor her (according to the writers) but ultimately decided against it. And now Billy has taken Wanda’s place by Agatha’s side instead, which doesn't make nearly as much sense since Billy is supposed to be a hero who would never want to align himself with someone like Agatha. Unlike Wanda, who was always pretty morally grey. I will never forget Agatha gently telling Wanda, “It’s good medicine, angel.” Such wasted potential.
MoM could've worked with something in between. Seeing Wanda go through the Darkhold trying to atone for her sins, but every spell casted spoke a whisper of another universe where she has her kids. As a former victim of brainwashing, she shouldn't have been as easy to be put under influence as she had been, so Chthon (the demon who authored the book and the main user of Chaos Magic) would've shackled her with the unfairness of the infinite multiverse. I see a plot going like this: 1. Wanda practices her new magic and potentially meets some people in need near her cottage. She finds them cursed under a mysterious spell and uses the Darkhold to undo it, showing her the pages of the exact spell to undo the curse, then shows the first signs of darker fingertips. 2. She gains a theory that the book has spells of whatever she needs. Since she wants to atone, a spell for locating people with "curses" shows up and she does this multiple times, each time giving her a small sense of relief followed by a sense of a higher purpose, and then her fingers grow darker. 3. She notices her dreams about her boys, and then she wakes up to her spell showing an escaping Baron Mordo (just inserting him since they initially wanted Wanda to kill him off in 616) running from a bunch of cultists who cursed him. She helps him out and accidentally used a spell from the Darkhold without thinking and disintegrated the cultists leaving one behind. Mordo notices the book and pretends to be Wanda's friend and stayed with her (since Wanda had many romances in the comics, why not try to push a Mordo in there) 4. Mordo teaches Wanda about sorcery and bonds over their grievances that come with magic. Wanda grew stronger but as she did her powers were only used to hurt her teammates and kill her love of her life. Mordo resented the zealotry that comes with the obsession of power so he hunted down these cultists that resembled Kaicilius and the zealots. She then finds out about the Astral Plane and the Mirror Dimension. She learns to Astral Project and she discovers she can mover her body while she's projecting and she also discovers the connection of magic and mind in this realm. She encounters a mentally ill individual who bore the same curse as the ones before her and used telepathic magic to free the person before the person mentions the name Chthon. From there, she's met with a vision of a demon, then passes out to a dream of her boys. Mordo wakes her up after finding her unconscious. 5. Wanda confronts Mordo about Chthon and he says that Chthon is the first demon and author of the Darkhold. He saw her potential to be good and put behind his grudge against the powers that go against the natural order, like Wanda's reality warping. They actually grew feelings for one another after bonding over how they resent the consequences of magic and he trusted her to make her own choices. They go to sleep together but Wanda stays awake to read Mordo's mind in the Astral Plane and sees his distrust and his initial plans to decapitate her. She steps out to find the remaining cultist bowing down to her and calling her a queen, offering to show her the "truth" about Chthon. 6. The cultist was actually a follower of Chthon who learned magic from a descendant of the former bearer of the Darkhold before Agatha Harkness. The cultist tells Wanda that Chthon is not a demon, but a god of Chaos that wishes to witness the limitless domino effects of chaos. He says that chaos is not destruction but also creation and transformation, rippling through each state at every moment, and it manifests as Chaos Magic. As the prime wielder of Chaos Magic withing the physical world, the Scarlet Witch has the potential to rule or destroy the cosmos, but the cultist sees her as their queen. Wanda asks if she can recreate her children, but the cultist says that their souls already existed and she gave birth to them physically, making them irreplicable. Mordo interrupts and kills the cultist. 7. Mordo picks a fight with Wanda and claims she had been colluding with the cultist all this time, and Wanda was denying since she grew to love him. She says that every night she dreams of a life with her kids that she can't have anymore and woke up to the nightmare of this world. Mordo says there is a theory of dreams being windows to another universe through your other self, and that she didn't deserve the children since she chose to become the Scarlet Witch. Wanda ends up angry at the thought of her being the only Wanda without her twins and attacks Mordo. She spares him but says that she now knows her power's potential, and she could have ruled or destroyed, but all she wants are her children. Mordo has a last ditch attempt to kill her, but he has overstayed his welcome and exhausted her mercy. *post credits* Wanda is watching over countless other realities of herself, confirming she's the only childless one. She finds the same girl in a few of these universes and sees her jumping through universes with a star shaped portal. Ijust cooked this up, but I wouldve loved this series as a transition.
In my head, Wanda's "story line" in MOM isnt cannon. The clip at the beginning when she asked the writers if they watched wanda vision and they said no... thats actually outrageous and disgusting and disrespectful. Just.. wow
Very well researched and presented. Your channel deserves to grow. I hate what they did to Wanda in MVOM with a passion. They ruined that character for me. There is no good excuse for the harm she did in that movie, at least no good one that they presented so far. Bad Marvel, bad bad (whacks nose with newspaper).
MoM was a mistake in Wanda's arc. I love her character so much, and I hope they'll rehabilitate her in future movies or, at least, bring her back as another Wanda from another multiverse 🙏🏼 Thank you for this video ❤
Boy I’m so glad I came across your channel. The editing and deliverance in your videos is fantastic. And you’re a real cutie pie too. You deserve so many more followers, I wish you the best for your future and I look forward to seeing more videos from you!
the original script of MoM was so much better, wanda and strange working together against nightmare, and her mentoring america, but whilst slowly being corrupted by the darkhold and the nightmares as the movie went on, to where at the end she became the full villain which was to then be a major plot point in a future movie (marvel originally wanted her to be a villain in an avengers movie, not MoM, but michael waldron insisted on her being the villain in MoM)
..... I don't think I've fully absorbed the tragedy of this story not seeing the light of day.
Wow actual character development? We were robbed
i will forever hate michael waldron for that lol
I want an alternative version of MoM with this story😭😭😭
Wow that sounds so much better than what they ended up doing
It really gets me that the writers for MoM apparently didn’t even watch WandaVision
Watch the first clip, when MoM was being written, WandaVision wasn’t finished yet
@@ryanager8029 So? Communication is a thing, you know.
they could've READ the script?? @@ryanager8029
The director did watch somewhat of it but he admitted he didn’t finish it
@@ryanager8029 so was the script for wandavision nowhere to be seen?
I hate the fact that the new writer for Doctor strange 2 decided to change a great script just because he didn’t want to wait and wanted Wanda as the villain in his movie, doctor strange 2 had so much potential to be great
That's the part that gets me the most. The sheer amount of potential that was wasted and how EASY it would have been to fix it.
And the fact that MoM is what he ended up turning in. So mediocre. Such a waste of potential and talent.
Yup. Which is why I'm SO glad he got booted off of the next two Avengers films. He doesn't want to do the work? He can GTFO.
WHY ARE YOU ASKING US TO WATCH ALL THESE INTERCONNECTED MOVIES AND SHOWS IF YOUR WRITERS DONT-
Because Raimi can do no wrong, nostalgia memberberries blah blah blah who needs a competent script?
@@Zxykaryto be fair, if you view this movie in a vacuum it’s not the worse thing ever made. i personally remember enjoying it a decent amount in the theater day one but i do understand the issues
@@cheapcyborg4866 you're right i enjoyed the movie for what it was. I think where the resentment comes from is just the sloppiness of it all. Like this is MARVEL theres no reason a linear story should ever be that sloppy. Especially when you take into account they pushed the movie so far back.
Did you stop listening or something
@@Zxykary
Raimi didn't write the movie? What are you doing
Leak don't mean it was even real.
They couldn't commit to her being an Avenger, and they didn't commit to her being a villain.
It's nice realizing I'm not alone in watching MoM liking it the first time and then the following day realizing it actually isnt good lol
In halfway of the movie, i was like what is this BS 💀💀
It's a fun movie with a bad storyline.
It was only good because of lizzie. It's a terrible terrible movie
Wasn’t into it even the first time. I did like WandaVision so seeing the whole thing rehashed but worse, sucked.
Sam Raimi was only the director, he had no input on the script.
But he had more screentime than any of them. We even have to put up with what, 3 or 4 variants of Dr Strange on screen??
MoM broke me...I took vows of chastity to never see another Marvel superhero movie ever again because of how poorly her arc was handled💔
Same i was like, i will never pay for another mcu movie, and it's working, cuz since i didn't pay anything 😅
Marvel is really a letdown when it comes to shows, other than WandaVision, Daredevil, Punisher and Jessica Jones.
the fact that the writers didn't even watch wandavision is actually so trash
it forever stained my opinion of how they treated her arc as a result, esp after how amazing her development was in that show
Like why did no one at Disney Marvel get them the WandaVision script???? I get that it was still in post production so hadn’t been released for them to have watched it but seriously??? Clearly no one at Disney is on the same team
The fact that writers and producers of MCU projects are not required to consume previous MCU media of that character is insane
But also makes so much sense seeing how they have a character acting vastly different ways in different movies, they go from serious, to comedic relief, to lame, and it hurts
Like goddamn they really don't care enough
But anyway I'm not gonna rant about it 😂
What if those boys don't like her because she is too different?
This. Was. Fantastic.
Say that again…
This is when I realized I needed to stop investing time into the mcu
Hah, for me it was experiencing _Multiverse of Madness_ and _Love and Thunder_ in succession. But then again, _Deadpool & Wolverine_ was quite fun and _Agatha All Along_ was great, so. Once in a blue moon.
@@petrbarton2524 agatha was a mess in writing too
@ Surely had its big lows and left a lot of unanswered questions, but compared to recent MCU entries, it was masterful imo.
@ no it just like storywise made 0 sense im really dumbfounded by everyone loving it genuinely :( but the rest of the mcu has been bad aswell
I think it was a lack of communication. I dont think wandavision was out yet when they were already filmimg
it's not the first time that Raimi's Movie keeps on being rewritten due to other writers insisting about their ideas
@@noerufrost643 WandaVisions entire production schedule was also extremely messy due to COVID so plotlines did change at several points as well.

Great video!! I do love that fietro (fake pietro) calls Wanda out for her accent disappearing in wandavision. Kinda another thing where writers weren’t sure which angle to take with her
To be fair tho, if u notice her accent only back on her more emotional speech (not just from WandaVision), Idk if it is intentionally or unintentionally but as someone with an accent, it makes sense 😂 I can understand that part
The only good thing Multiverse of Madness "gave" us was Agatha All Along. I said it.

I am not a huge MCU fan, but I really enjoyed WandaVision so I thought I would check out her story in MoM. I was so confused, annoyed and disappointed!! They recycled the arc but made it shallow and unforgivable!
Thanks for this video showing her development before WandaVision! That part was all new to me!
i was literally tearing up when you were going through wanda’s background leading up to MoM like damn my girl has been through so much 🥲
When MoM came out in 2022, I really didn't like to see people in the internet saying that Wanda's character was assasinated and that they killed her development in Wandavision, even if I did agree with these people internally. At the time I was still fascinated by Wanda and my love for her character, so I really was a bit immature when it came to defending her. However, now in 2025, I can truly see that her character was really done dirty and they didn't even care to show us her deconstruction into a villain. It's just like you said in the video, when I saw her as the antagonist in the movie I was like: "Slayyyy queen, as you should!!" but after a while I did realize that in terms of development that was a: "Oh my god, what did they do to herrr?"
It's baffling to know that the writers of MoM didn't even care to see Wandavision at all and didn't even care to do a quick research to know what type of feedback people gave her in the internet, this is the most crucial part if you're going to turn a beloved character into a monster or mass genocider.
Marvel can't seem to let go of the whole "Avengers" standpoint when really the audience just wants really fleshed out solo/duo stories right now.
it would have been better if the writers understood the source material and watched wandavision (which they admitted they did not)
37:05 not Lizzie begging for the "smartest writer" she hates Michael as much as we do lmao
She went into isolation to practice Dark Magic and study the Darkhold, it's literally in the after credits.
I would have loved this😭
Also the way you talk about Wandavision makes me appreciate it even so much more then I already did
Imagine spending so many episodes with a character who is grieving, sympathizing with her loss and her struggle to recover from that loss - if even in the most unhealthy ways - but also learning, by the end, to accept that she can never bring back the people she loved and needed to stop because she's started hurting innocent people. A character who has done hurtful things about her grief, and watching her come to terms with that and learning to be a better person.
And then just throw it out the window for a villain arc that was unearned, rushed and mediocre.
I saw her as a villain in Wandavision too to be honest.
37:08 I feel like this was a light read hahahaha what she actually wanted to say was "keep those clowns from Multiverse of Madness away from me"
This video was masterfully done. Thank you for perfectly articulating so much about my favourite character :)
30:55 This was hilarious. Best believe I will be quoting this anytime I have the opportunity 😂
damn you, now i’m mad 😭 i forgot how badly they did Wanda in MoM. I hope they can turn things around in her next projects
I blame Kevin Feige for what happened to Wanda
Spittin
I'll always believe that if we got villain Wanda, she needed to be the villain for an "Avengers" movie.
In civil war wanda couldn’t use her mind powers. She was still fighting against heroes and some of them were her teammates. I had a problem with her not using them in infinity war but for civil war it makes sense.
Cap ordered them to hold team iron man off not to seriously hurt them physically or mentally.
Yeah, she wont hurt heroes that level
Was going to say the same thing, it would've been crossing a line she wasn't okay with using her powers like that on allies.
@@squiddler7731 exactly especially after she regretted the things she did in she of ultron.
This is excellent work and I will watch whatever you put out next!
I’m so grateful marvel made WandaVision. They did something new and really pulled it off. Especially as a Wanda fan, we couldn’t have asked for a better character exploration
What a great video, I really don’t understand why not more people get to watch this
I’m glad that Elizabeth agrees with us on Wanda’s character arc
This made me really miss Wanda, would love if they could salvage her character
I’m really happy I stumbled upon this channel, really well done video
Exactly.
Or, similar to telepathy lore explained in X-Men media, the telepathy works well on people untrained to deal with it and after becoming part of the team the rest of the avengers got better at resisting it so it wouldn't have helped/been more trouble than it's worth
Good video so far
Yeah maybe story wise Wanda in DS2 may not be liked by some, but it does make total sense by Marvel standards and MCU setup.
Loving your channel
Thank God a Queen is here to say what we All been thinking
🎉😂❤
'I can't control their fear, only my own' ICONIC.
As a huge Wanda stan... Thank you for this! Love it!!!❤
I've been following your videos for a hot min and I love your video structure - I also love that you're a die hard wanda stan (Like me) pls keep making videos!!!
MoM did nothing in terms of story.
That's it! 🙄
It has duxx plotline!
I'm just going to say this after seeing Sonic 3, Shadow is a much better written character when it come to grief and the audience feeling his sympathy.
This was an amazing video. Your style of presentation is unique and very entertaining. Eager to watch more from you.
27:12 tysm for the translation i was really struggling with "bhadauss" and "khoul" i had no idea where you were going with that
I was following this video right up until 25:29 when you stated that WandaVision ended with Wanda "ready to take accountability and responsibility for her actions.", whilst literally showing a clip from the show of her NOT doing that and fleeing the scene before the authorities arrive, thereby negating your argument.
MoM just doubles down on it.🤣
my apologies for that "ready to take accountability and responsibility for her actions" line, especially with a clip of her fleeing her crime scene 💀 my bad, i was hacking away editing this video at 3 am, thats on me (it is unintentionally funny looking at that clip now though)
i think i meant to say "ready to take accountability and responsibility for her future," as that ending made me feel like she was just starting her development as the scarlet witch. she was coming out of her debilitating grief and ready to learn about and seize her destiny. but damn, i fumbled that one real bad. that's on me man!!!
also, yeah... we have a joint hatred for that "they'll never know what you sacrificed" or something line from monica. ill be washing dishes on a tuesday night and randomly remember that line with horror. that finale had a lot of misses
@@whichatlas That's fine, i understand! It's an overall good video, its just that moment kinda made me raise my eyebrow a bit.🤣
Between WandaVision, Spiderman: No Way Home, and Dr Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness, the build up could have been ABSOLUTELY INSANE! 😭😭
It feels like the went for a Jean Grey/Dark Phoenix vibe. MoM story wise was poor, but Wanda showing how OP she is was sick
Well, atleast Agatha All Along was (mostly) good.
love the way you explain her character sm :-)
also, the darkhold was supposed to have been destroyed in agents of shield, which expands its lore waaaaay more than just 'spell book' but they chose to ignore all that
Retro-time-period special episodes, a Darkhold corruption arc, a character wrapping reality to resolve their own regrets and trapping others within that world, a parent raising and having to let go of a not-real child, heroes with sympathetic villain arcs … oh wait, I already saw all that in Agents of Shield seasons 3 and 4.
MOM was the beginning of the end for the MCU.
She'll be back to save the MCU
MoM could've worked with something in between. Seeing Wanda go through the Darkhold trying to atone for her sins, but every spell casted spoke a whisper of another universe where she has her kids. As a former victim of brainwashing, she shouldn't have been as easy to be put under influence as she had been, so Chthon (the demon who authored the book and the main user of Chaos Magic) would've shackled her with the unfairness of the infinite multiverse. I see a plot going like this:
Mordo notices the book and pretends to be Wanda's friend and stayed with her (since Wanda had many romances in the comics, why not try to push a Mordo in there)
*post credits*
Wanda is watching over countless other realities of herself, confirming she's the only childless one.
"I can't control their fear"
Wanda, you were quite literally controlling everybody's fears in the previous movie...
MoM was a mistake in Wanda's arc. I love her character so much, and I hope they'll rehabilitate her in future movies or, at least, bring her back as another Wanda from another multiverse 🙏🏼
Thank you for this video ❤
Boy I’m so glad I came across your channel. The editing and deliverance in your videos is fantastic. And you’re a real cutie pie too. You deserve so many more followers, I wish you the best for your future and I look forward to seeing more videos from you!
