Cleetus, not sure if you remember me but I'm the RC guy from Canada that is STILL working on an RC Lil LeRoy.. of sorts. The X-01 esc and motor is actually what I intend on putting in a slightly smaller yet more tunable chassis for my version of Lil LeRoy and it's scale speeds WILL be off the chart!

Not at all.. just provides more information.. I could estimate in real world speeds, maybe say 145MPH with a 5th scale esc and motor.. but 1,450 scale MPH just sounds better.. is really no faster.. for those of us who can entertain the notion.

The diff I agree on but he should probably stick with the same clutch. You want something to give and a clutch is a lot easier and a lot cheaper than other parts to fix or replace. You’ll start breaking other parts at that power level that will be a lot harder or more expensive to replace

It almost sounds like the 2 step is coming on, pretty wierd that it consistantly happens in 3rd gear. Maybe the clutch switch is activiating the 2 step in 3rd?

LSX_ moe can't handle the higher duty cycle or he could even have a vac line leak

Boost controller is failing, hitting too much boost under load, causing to hit fuel cut and break up.

You gotta drill some holes in thw front of the rc and install single white leds up front and red in the read. Helps figure out where ya going. All runs of a 9 volt with a toggle

My turbo mr2 was sputtering just like that only from 3rd gear on where it was in peak boost most of the time I got new plugs and it fixed it
For the rc car I would recommend getting foam tires and running on no prep asphalt, though it would have less traction they do not "Balloon" as the car goes faster, making it overall more stable an less likely to wreck

Ever think about taking your hand off the drift brake faster? Looks like your applying the brakes the entire first gear . Just a thought
feff what difference would it make if it is still spinning off the line? If anything it's keeping it from spinning.
jacob portillo gives a false reading on his log. Could be spinning worse, or it may not
The purpose of gradually letting off the brake is to ease into the launch & maintain as much traction as possible, because spinning ain't winning
It's also easier on parts like the axels and differential, and extends their life
Helps the boost build while hes trying to catch traction
Have you checked the gap on your spark plugs? All the heat Leroy produces could have caused the gap to increase, along with the extra boost from the new turbos may be causing it to misfire. Just a suggestion

Have you ever done a full pull with the wing still attached? I say this because all those 220mph+ 1/2 mile racers keep their big wings and aero because it helps with traction more then it hurts top speed.
Might want to go and get some drag radials for the XO1, it would help out when driving on the track

You need a 2 speed power glide in that thing! Got to tune diff8for humidity and heat to!
