- Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai Episode 12 & 13 conclude the phenomenal journey of Sakuta & Mai. Honestly this anime is a Classic in the making. I see in a few years people that watched this series will call it a must watch anime. This is easily one of the best Slice of Life Anime I've seen in a long time. I will miss this show and I await for a Season 2 one day.... for now we wait on the movie in 2019.
Love you all so much thank you for all the support!

"I don't hate them"
That's so wrong, having Kaede and having her not like pandas is so...incomplete
And when sakuta said he wanted to see panda's and kinda pushing it to kaede, it really broke me bc that really shows how broken sakuta got, he was never the type to push ppl around on to doing something but this time it felt like he lost all hope and didn't really know what to do, he wasn't able to accept that kaede doesn't love panda's as she used to

Definitely one of those don't judge the book by the cover animes.
Have a question I read the manga. Which is why I stopped watching after the 3rd or 4th episode which ever one ends with them becoming a couple. As that was as far as the manga covered. So I wanted to wait until the season was complete so I could just binge watch it. Was just wondering if the what seemed like could be some Harem elements where handled. Like I know he helps other girls out. Was just wondering if the most that happens is some of them grow a crush on him.Yet he always stays true to Mai and never has his feelings for her waver at all.
@@wisewolftony well the kouhai did fall in love with him. futaba still has crush on his friends and mai sister seem like a tsundere to me but i doubt she would try to take sakuta from mai.

This episode was a good way to keep the plot open for the sequel movie. I hope I get all my answers from this movie. I like Sakuta's character of how he handle the Kaede situation. The depression hit me.I'm glad, but not glad, that Sakuta and Mai didn't kiss, but it better happen in the movie if we're not getting a season 2. This anime overall exceed my expectations, and I look forward to the movie.
I find really weird they didnt since their first kiss (except the one Sakuta couldn't remember since Mai was still invisible) according to the novels should've been at the end of Futaba's arc xd Why let it out of the anime?

This is going to easily become a classic. I hope they adapt the following novels in another season. Plus I can't wait for the movie. I just loved the last episode, I could really understand both Mai and Sakuta's points of view. Not being able to be there for somebody you love in their darkest moments is something that a lot of people go through, it's especially bad when you know you could've been there if you'd made a stronger effort. I'm glad the series ended the way it did, leaving us an open door with some questions unanswered. Easily going to be within my top 10 anime of all time.

My theory is shoko is Mr Rascal's puberty syndrome.
She is the manifestation of his wish to just be able to be a kid and not have to be the grown up all the time. She shows up whenever he feels powerless and lost and she mothers him and looks after him until he feels better.

This is absolutely a major contender for Anime of the Year!
This was the first time Sakuta and Mai had a fight, but it was resolved quickly in the end so I am glad.
If that kissing scene in end happened it would have been cliche and this show is anything but so I kind like her pinching his cheek like that since it fit Mai and Sakuta's personality.
Kaede doesn't seem to have issues with her memory loss so I suppose her arc is fisnished. It really felt like the Kaede we knew and loved has died so it was really sad even if she wanted to be remembered with a smile by Sakuta.
The movie will surely cover up this whole Shoko-san mess which I will be looking forward to. I don't usually watch this kind of show but this one was incredible, one of the best come out this year that has a lot of good anime.

Thank you Chibi, you're the reason I started watching Bunny Girl Senpai, and I don't regret a minute of watching it. I laugh, cried and loved this series so much to the point I really want a season 2 and the movie will be really good specially if it explains Shoko, I don't want her to be just a figment of his imagination
I liked the part in the episode where Sakuta was eating the tomato. Nice nod to Ryuunosuke from Sakurasou.
Wait was that a reference? If so how did I miss that I loved Sakurasou.
@@ninjaniknik6136 In Sakurasou, Ryuunosuke liked eating raw tomatoes because he considered it healthy.
Well Kaede seem to be reading the diary. I feel like she wouldn’t be to get those memories back, but have a understanding of the situation. I think she will later understand why she likes panda so much.
Unless you subscribe to Sakuta writing the note himself (The one that Shoko left) then it means that she's at least real outside of his imagination. Also Mai was more upset at herself, like you mentioned, than at Sakuta. (Both for not being there and for feeling Jealous that Shoko was there.)
Yup,she's real and spoiler alert
She is actually from the future and is how shoko picture herself of growing up. She needed a heart transplant but no one was there until sakuta died due to a car crash and shoko got her transplant but she came back to now to save sakuta from the van-wreck and yeah
this is my theory is his sister new personality knew she was going to revert back to her older self. But with the other characters in order to go back to their original self's they had to overcome their fears. for example confessing ones love for somebody. The new sisters fear was dying and being forgotten, so she made conditions that will make her brother remember her. Make the only one she loved to remember after she is gone but once those conditions were met she was no longer scared of death and her adolescence symptom diapered like herself. so what I'm saying is she killed herself so her brother could move on in his life and to prove that the whole reason she wanted to go outside was because "if someone marries big brother they get Kaede too" (and this is why I cried)
That so sad if u put if that way
Wow. That's...wow. my heart.
I think Shoko appearing and the scar on Sakuta's chest is his own Adolescence Syndrome which is activated when Sakuta feels helpless. "A.S." is triggered during a psychological event, so Sakuta's A.S. is only triggered when he has failed to help those around him. I am curious to see if the scar would have reopened if Sakuta failed to solve the other problems in the series. Think about it, Sakuta's A.S. is a double-edged sword. It punishes him when he fails but also gives him the fortitude to not only help himself but those around him.
I am confused though. Did his imagination write a letter with a phone number on it? That's what confuses me about these recent episodes.
@@jamiewhichelo9983 Since I'm spoilerproof due to my shit memory, I navigated the danger zone in the comments section to fish out the source where an answer can be found.
Apparently, it's explained in light novels 6 and 7 which will be adapted into a movie.
@@jamiewhichelo9983 I never said it was gonna be a direct continuation of the anime. Just that we'd get to know more about _her._
I absolutely loved the ending.
And I have no problem in calling Bunny Girl Senpai one of the best shows in quite a few years
Shoko is Sakuta's adolescence syndrome, especially seen when his old wounds open up from time to time and he has to face them again. From throwing away his phone to protect his sister to feeling like he has lost everything and having Shoko inspire him to become a little kinder everyday. Everytime his way of daily living thats inspired by Shoko is disrupted by a serious event in his life, Shoko appears and gets him back on track so he can keep his promise and maintain even a little hope, something that may be hard for adolescents gaining new points of views of the world through struggles.
I absolutely loved this anime. The whole cast is great, the story is great and it was a wonderful ride. If anyone is worried that it was a bit open ended, there will be a sequel movie.
the whole cast didnt even get much screentime unforuatnly
Poor Mai-san, feeling lost to unexplained guardian of Sakuta.
...AND THAT IS HOW YOU END A MASTERPIECE! Sorry...Sorry...it had to be said...Sorry.
NO. If it comes to it, I will learn how to draw and animate a season two even if it takes my entire lifetime
It isnt a masterpiece ^^
Cringe...
@Volatile Weeb nothing true about that. It was paced horribly
Once you get over the hype, go watch the last episode again. There's a glaring inconsistency in there you haven't noticed.
Mai's trouble with how she couldn't be there for sakuta in his worst time of need probably stems directly from how much sakuta didnt give up on supporting her in the first few episodes. His support has meant a world of difference to her. She wanted to be something similar. Power couple 2018
Let's pray a rascal doesn't dream a bunny girl senpai has season 2
Anyone else though this episode seemed rushed? Especially the conclusion to the Kaede arc, Sakuta recovered way to fast after that breakdown and had the Mai stuff in the 2nd half. The anime would of benefited by having another episode or two to make the transition more smoother. Hell I would of preferred if it ended on a cliffhanger and they resolved the rest in the movie instead of rushing. Either way, bunny girl senpai is definitely in my top 10 animes from this year, crazy to think I didn't watch this until the 4th episode was out. Looking forward to the movie next year
Not just this epsiode, but the whole anime. But yeah, the last Two epsiodes had a horrible pacing
Yep, a lot of loose ends in each arc. Mostly Kaede's part. That arc definitely need at least 2 more episodes. My boi Sakuta just lost his little sister twice! And now when she gains back her memory he just suddenly okay with it?
Yea kinda rush but i think is setting up for the movie ?? So the real ending is later on

Sakuta is such a good guy, and he never makes a big deal out of being that way... It's a really rare type of male character, and I really appreciate it!
Honestly, I feel like the conflict with Mai and Sakuta wasn't that cliched because it would seem more predicable for her to have picked up the paper and it was completely different than what Sakuta saw, but they played it up in a much more charming and emotional way, as you said. I'm not sure if that's necessarily a fair point though as predictable ≠ cliche.
Amazing amazing anime. The script writing was genius too.
Sakuta wasn't the only one crying over the "death" of Kaede
I love this last arch so much, because there's no fardetched quantum explanation, but only heart-felt human emotion.
I cried during my lunch break at work lol
Synopsis made it seem trash but it turned out to be amazing.
I just finished watching this series and went right into this episode. Kaede felt like a stranger to her own body and nobody understood her because they keep saying that she's not well but she doesn't feel any different. That speech that Sakuto got from Shoko made him want to be kinder to people, the same way that he was given kindness, to be heard and understood. This made him realize how much Kaede feels like, that's why when he gave the notebook, to write her name not in Kanji since that was the old Kaede. Recognizing her as a different person, he made his peace with it and work with her as this new person. At the end of episode 12, it's so animated beautifully as it was the same reaction that I was giving, it felt like hearing of a passing someone you love. I was bawling my eyes out at the beginning of episode 13. Damn, the writing of this show is so fast and witty, and yet it can still bring such an emotional scene. I can't believe I passed on this show because of the title, what a mistake that was.

I teared up right with Sakuta when he left the hospital after realizing Kaede was "gone/back". That whole scene hit the feels like a train. The Shoko thing is truly interesting because she is either not a figment of Sakuta's imagination as Futaba suggested, as Mai found the note or perhaps Shoko is part of Sakuta's mind and it was Sakuta himself that wrote the note? IDK but I am eagerly awaiting the movie to learn more. I really enjoyed this series and hope the movies does well.
the thing I question is how did Mai see Shoko's letter to Sakuta if Shoko is present due to Sakuta's Illusions? It goes to show Shoko is real
If shes made up, it means he's read his sisters diary without remembering it, which mean it's not impossible he wrote the note without remembering it
@@badatmagic5042 What? You're confusing me... Care to explain what you mean?
@@byno3862 this argument is made in the case that shoko is made up, from his reaction we can probably guess he hadn't read his sisters diary. But if shoko isint real the only way for him to invent her reading it was to read it himself, which he would have had her "read in his place". Meaning he could have written that note and made himself believe that shoko wrote it.
@@badatmagic5042 I'm dumb... still don't understand the first part, how can he have her read it in his place? You mean to say something like what happened to the Futaba Syndrome, when she had a clone? But in this case, Sakuta made a clone of not himself, but a girl he thought up of randomly, from his imaginations, and she becomes real temporarily when he's in trouble to help him? And disappears back into him when he's fine again?

Kingdom is a terrible series to read/review weekly. I stopped reading it months ago to build up chapters.
Actually I kind of disagree with you I find it to very fast paced and exciting every time I read a new chapter. It keeps me engaged every time without fail...I am very curious as to what you think kingdom is a terrible series to review
@@t-ray8491 I'm not saying it's a terrible series to review. Maybe after an arc, Chibi could review the whole arc in one video. I just don't think it's a good series to review weekly. I constantly find myself forgetting major aspects of the battles and have to go back like 20 chapters and re-read chapters constantly to remember things. I don't like that. Kingdom is one of my favorite manga, but it's much more enjoyable to binge read an arc after it finishes imo
Matt M. You have a very strong argument their...Kingdom is one of those manga’s where you can very easily forget key aspects of the battle and/or arc which in turn makes the series suited to be more of a arc by arc type of anime’s and would very much cater to those who binge read manga’s but in my honest opinions kingdom is the type of anime that I would benefit greatly by a weekly review because of 2 reasons:
1. It leaves you wanting more which I have to say many manga’s don’t give me that same effect and impression
2. It leaves you thinking what will come next and what possibilities would happen and different mixture of theories that adds a layer of excitement on the level of and/or Oda’s One Oiece
Now for fixing that problem you stated about the reader have to back track to understand the premise of the arc is an easy fix He can just for a 1-2 min explain the arc at the beginning before continuing other than that I can’t really see another reason not to restart kingdom again
@@t-ray8491 Also, there's sometimes just not enough content in Kingdom chapters to warrant a review. Chibi avoids reviewing lots of Slice of Life/Comedy anime because there isn't a lot to talk about or go into depth about a lot of times. It's similar to that. If Chibi did start reviewing it again, I think it would make more sense to do like a monthly review or make a review when something major happens.
I almost passed on this one. But it's actually really good. The premise is really unique
This rejuvinated me. It's like the successor of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I can't believe it. I got sucked into this show, that world, the lives of the chracters like no other show for such a long time. I think I might even get a case of Anime Blues soon. Damn. Such a lovely tune... so gentle. A Daydream.
The first show in a while that got me to tears. You will be missed you silly rascal.
Classic is far too of a high standard we have to see if it withstands the test or will it fade away within a year I'm not trying to be bias but there's some giant franchises coming out in 2019 such as opm, attack on Titan and the promised neverland
Aot has lost alot of it's hype
I know that I'd love if this series reaches out to normies, but i kinda love that only the dedicated one's are the ones that know this series
You say this but they have a movie coming out sooo it will definitely be remembered for quite a while. The dialogue alone carries this series into god tier not to mention the relationships people have with each other.
@@Sparda51 and yet the pacing brings most of the good aspects down. it was horrendous how fast it was. a good show but by no means a classic
@@Exel3nce what? fast? every character got several episodes of development and continued to be in it throughout. Some of them got more episodes then a few. Example Mai and his sister probably got the most development out of them (aside from Sakuta of course) all lasting the entirety of the show. This is your opinion just like One Piece is considered to be top tier and I think it's absolutely garbage. My point is to each their own but sorry you opinion doesn't qualify as fact.
I love this anime 100%. What I do have questions for is little trivial stuff like why Sakuta was the only one involved in Tomoe's time repetition thing. But the fact that the show didn't need to cover parts like that is awesome, too
I like how the ending scenes show Kaede-san reading Kaede's diary to figure out what had happened to her. By the look on her face and how she says she wants to go to school I think she realized how much Kaede loved Sakuta and in her own way she wanted to fulfill that last goal for her.
This is the first time that I have heard of this anime. I think that it sounds interesting so far and I'm definitely going to watch it. Thank you for introducing it to me. I hope the movie turns out well for your sake.
I completely agree this series stood out among all the others not only in this season but also this year. I cant wait for the movie, they set the bar pretty high with the show so it will be fun to see if they can beat it.
You know... I'm just glad the production house and staff didn't end the anime with an original ending...
Even though the movie is still looming in the near future, they've won my trust... I can rest easy and keep waiting for the movie...
Unlike some company *cough* Bethesda *cough*
What an amazing anime, I’ve never loved a 13 episode anime so much. Everything was great, from the animation to the writing and the amazing characters. I’m kinda sad we still didn’t get to see sakuta and mai kiss but the tease from mai was hilarious and adorable. And boy did it give me some feels, sad ones that were sad enough to make me almost cry out loud, happy ones that’d make me smile for hours on end. All in all it’s a great anime.
If the entire series had the quality of episodes 1, 2, 3 and the Kaede arc it would probably be the best slice of life/romance show of all time.
(Even though the quality was still superb for the rest of the series)
I’ve never been a slice of life anime type of fan but after this anime wow I’m sold. 👍
My decision to watch this after your first review of this series is right. What a journey, i have to say. Can't wait for the movie release in Blu-ray
well this serries is one heck of a feels train ride this will most likely be one of my favorite slice of life serries i have seen while im looking forward to the movie.
Loved this anime. Cant wait for the movie and season 2. I'm also pretty sure old cute kaede came back in the end (:
Bunny Girl Senpai is a beautiful story. It shines through the most through the characters. Every single main character is beautifully portrayed, their vulnerability being exposed fueling through the narrative. If there is any reason to watch this series, then I guess this is it.
10 to 20 years from now, this anime will be considered one of the greatest romance anime of all time. It's easily in the top 5 in that category and no.2 in my personal top 5 anime of the year, behind only A Place Further than the Universe.
Sakutas speech about panda kaede wanting to do stuff tomorrow was completely gut wrenching
Mai isn't just upset that shoko 'took her place' so to speak. She is upset that when she asked about it Mr Rascal didn't even share what had happened to him, he only bothered telling her when she found the note.
His first preference was shoko, not her. She felt replaced.
