- I make the Grinch from polymer clay over about a week working on it a couple of hours each evening.

I would think so. I've sculpted with polymer clay and always bake it before I paint it.

what if I wanted to sculpt a character with big belly and big legs?
i would bulk out the thick parts of a sculpt with aluminum and then roll a sheet of clay to wrap around it, like what i did for this one's torso. does that help?

Did you bake it ..All in one go …after or before painting ?
Hi Don, i baked it at least twice i believe. If you go to 4:20 in the video( ua-cam.com/video/SMkNn5dU8GY/v-deo.html ) You can see the texture the clay change. That was the first bake. I think i baked him again after attaching the head, hat, hands, feet, clothing frills. You definitely want to wait until after baking for paint!
