Is the Titoni Seascoper 300 A Downgrade Or An Amazing Watch For the Price?

  • A few years ago I reviewed the Seascoper 600, which I felt at the time it was one of the best watches under $2000. But here we have the Titoni Seascoper 300, available in new colors, new strap options, and new pricing, but that is not the whole story. It lacks the T10 movement and there are a few other changes as well. Make sure to watch the entire video, then head to www.watchreport.com to see our written article.

    What do you think of the new Titoni Seascoper 300? Also, next review is the Momentum Sea Quartz 30, a reproduction of the iconic Chronosport!

    The dial and bezel looks better imo without the numbers in the 600 version. The advantage of the Sellita movement is that when it comes time to service, you can take it somewhere local.

    Have the 600 in all black. This is the one to go IMO. Classic beauty!

    Thanks very much for the excellent review. I purchased the new Sea Scoper 600 in the two-tone yellow gold version a few years ago and have been extremely pleased with the watch. I was looking for a quality built all-around "dress diver" and this one fills the bill perfectly with its 42mm case size and brush/satin finish gold center links. Also it is noteworthy that Mr. Roland G. Murphy of RGM Watches is the Official USA Service Center for Titoni watches. You would be hard pressed to find a better value in an all Swiss Made watch with an In-House Chronometer movement IMHO. Thank you.

    I like the T10, but I think you have to keep servicing in mind. A SW200 is no big problem to service, but most of the watchmakers around will never see, handle or service a T10. That means you have to send it to Titoni to service it, that will raise the servicing fees. The 300 has a cheaper entry price and will be in the long run cheaper to servcie.

      All very good points. It’s just that the original I reviewed (600) at the original price, was truly a great bargain for a premium watch. But pricing I knew was going to go up, and at least the 300 now exists.
      In hand I have the new 300 black limited with orange dial and black rubber strap. Review soon.

      @@watchreport You’re absolut right, the OG 600 was a „steal“ at that price. Sadly they have gone significantly up in price. I bought the 600 back in June last year for 1.700 €. Now it’s up to 1.950 €. The watch hasn’t changed, only the price has gone up… But sadly this issues plagues the whole watch industry.

    Nice watch. Wish the logo and text on the dial wasn't so huge.

    I prefer the look of the 600 which has numerals on the bezel and an exhibition case back.

    I am considering this vs the Longines Hydroconquest in matte green. Tough call, but the Longines has a 5 year warranty and 72 hour reserve. This watch is COSC, but I rotate several autos, so accuracy such as that I would never notice. I love the blue and blacks on these. I can afford the 600, I guess I should compare it.

      @@watchreport well, we both ended up going crazy. Today is our last day in Switzerland. I have had a grail watch since it came out around 1995. We walked into the right store in Zurich, Les Ambassadeurs and met Agnes. She gave us a truly exceptional deal and experience and I ended up with an Omega Seamaster 300 in black. My wife got a Seamaster ladies. We have been married almost 29 years and she just got a great promotion at her job of 14 years, so what better way to celebrate!!

    Yes, for me I would plop down the extra $400 for the 600m model. I just don't care for any of these colorways, honestly, and I feel like the Titoni movement adds more value than that. Not sure this is an $1800 watch, I guess. $1500, fine.

    This is such a stunning watch in pics & vids. I definitely prefer the dial on this 300 compared to the 600. Damn this vid is making me very tempted to get one.

      @@watchreport i am from singapore. The local agent here is still in operation but has stopped bringing in the newer Titoni watches. What the ADs here are selling are all the old models. Anyway, i ordered the watch from Malaysia, my neighbouring country. Black dial with black bezel. Can’t wait to receive it. Paid a premium for it.

    How does it compare to the more affordable certina ds action diver 38mm with the powermatic 80?

    • @watchreport
      @watchreport  Рік тому +2

      Hard comparison. Size wise obviously bigger but Certina does make a 42mm. Case design very different, nicer finishing, bracelet and of course clasp on the Titoni, and I will say much nicer dial as well. Powermatic movement is decent, the rotation is slow to get that 80 hour power reserve but all in all I love the look of the Certina but wouldn’t put it head to head with this Titoni. That all said, if you get the Certina on discount or grey market, really good watch for the money.

    Might aswell save a bit and get a Tudor at that price . Did the first version come with the nato ?

    • @watchreport
      @watchreport  Рік тому +2

      I don’t believe so. Also the ocean strap is an option. It doesn’t come with it as an extra. You choose one of 3 strap options with ocean strap being cheapest as I talked about in video.
      Also a black bay starts at like $3500 unless you go grey market.
