That “repetitive” flow of conversation also gets me at times, but i guess it comes from Filipinos being polite - when having a conversation with anyone especially with an acquaintance or stranger, it is always polite to acknowledge what other person says as a sign of respect and that you understood them. It is indeed frustrating but we are so used to it that we no longer mind doing so. 😬

Most people don't realise that you don't have to drink alcohol to have fun, my husband and I are also non-drinkers and non-smokers but we still have a lot of fun when we attend gatherings.

I know how you guys feel. I don’t drink at all. I drank before just to try and I realized that it’s not for me. I ended up being the designated driver for my friends. It’s more fun watching drunk people make fool of them selves 😂😂😂

Two words: language barrier. No point in over analyzing things. That's the main culprit between Fil and non Fil when it comes to communication. Either learn the language or just accept the situation as it is.

LOL...there is alcohol at every event here...Funerals there is alcohol, kids birthday parties there is alcohol, religious celebrations there is alcohol at the fiestas... weddings there is alcohol, family gatherings there is alcohol, baby baptisms there is alcohol...And as far as being "EARLY" your husband must have forgot about "Filipino Time", the later you are, the higher you are on the social ladder.
