Wasn't the negative luck from torches removed? It was so negatively received that only positive torch luck is a thing, not negative torch luck.

I checked the wiki and it says
No matter what penalties accumulate, Torch luck overall cannot go below 0 - it can either provide a bonus to luck, or nothing at all.
So yeah he is wrong

So I believe you can’t get negative luck from torches, however the wrong torches will negate the positive effect of the correct torches.
So seems like we may still need to go back through our caves and replace the wrong ones :(

@@PK-wo4vo Actually, there was a thing where torch gods favor will automatically replace already placed torches to their corresponding biome was coming to the next update.

There is a theory that the guide is actually the wall of flesh disguised and these videos never talked about the luck you get for killing him so I feel like that will just add to that theory.

Afaik: basically having a wrong torch will DECREASE your luck but only to offset "right" torches that you have nearby, so it will just cancel out the biome-specific torches.

This theory can be easily tested through the use of the wizard NPC, or just taking a quick glance at the wiki.
"The good luck, and luck penalty, are independently limited to a maximum of 0.2 for good luck and 0.3 for the luck penalties. Thus, multiple Torches of a given type will have no increased benefit, and one or more incorrect Torches will completely negate the benefits of Torch luck."

However you are likely thinking of the fact that negative torch luck can never actually bring your luck stat down, which was a change caused by unanimous community backlash upon the release of 1.4.
Rather, each wrong torch, simply negates another right torch.

It was a game I got cuz I used to play Minecraft and I kinda just moseyed along and I thought I completely finished the game cuz I killed skeleton and had a crazy 2d fortress but when I was just messing around while bored about to quit the game it spawned.. the wall of flesh lmfao i got absolutely cooked and I couldn’t figure out wtf it was so I stayed in hell for a while but nothing so I googled it and realized the voodoo dolls I’d been throwing away were boss spawners so I eventually beat the wof and opened the gates of imagination. I can’t fully explain the joy I felt when I realized the insane shit that came out after the wall died

They have no negative, nor positive contribution to your luck, just like regular torches.
