"Waite made it up and who cares" is something that needs said more! I really like the action-oriented spread positions. I feel like too often anything about "what next?" is missing... even though in my mind it's often really the purpose of the reading, exploring potential ways forward.
I think this is THE spread I've been searching for! I've just done the best reading for myself that I've ever done in my life using this revamped version of the CC. I'm believing in my abilities as a reader again after a few months of mediocre and meh like readings that have brought me close to throwing in the Tarot towel. Thank you - great way to kick off the week! 🙌
@@thefoolsjournal so update on this spread. It has been consistently brilliant, all week! Been using it daily and it's still yielding great results. It's literally revolutionised my readings and the positions seem to lend themselves really well to putting a positive spin on the more 'negative' cards. 🥳 Dreading getting the one dimensional Brazilian grill as the answer card though! My search for the perfect representation of the 3 of Swords continues.....Kudos! 🙌
I've never really liked the Old Celtic Cross because a lot of positions felt irrelevant and weird. However, this new version seems much more straight forward. I usually do small spreads, but I am very excited to try this out! Thank you for sharing this much needed revision 👏❤
I watched this and immediately used it for clarity around my job. It read very clearly. It is so insightful, in fact, that I am stunned. I particularly like question 8, as this is the Querent’s Achilles heal. For me, the answer was perfect. Thank you for creating and sharing this spread. 😃
I couldn't wait for the end of the video. I tried it out right after you presented it....and.....I am very pleasantly surprised. ^^ It read, as you said it would, much more easily than I thought. I am going to add this to my arsenal for sure. Than you Sooooooo mcuh.
This was great! Will have to make a note of your version to try it out. There must be something in the air as I've now seen a few modified Celtic Cross spread videos recently. James Feeney made a video on his take a few weeks back and Headology & the Witch made one too. It's great to see people putting a fresh spin on an old classic (and each one has been different to the other).
omg im so looking forward to trying this out! I made my own version a while back but it kept some of the traditional placements while changing others. I love the concept of just starting with the whole answer and expanding from that!
What are your thoughts on drawing two cards for each card position and reading those as a pair? Do you think that might complicate the reading process? I'm wondering if this could form a practice exercise for those of us using Marseille.
I love this! I recently read for little red riding hood, cos I'm reading these stories with my 4 year old! 😄 So I immediately tried this one for Jack and the bean stock - why did he sell the cow for magic beans?! I got the magician as the answer! 😄 He believes in magic, but also, maybe he was tricked! 😂 I love playing with tarot. Thanks for the inspiration and the great spread! I'll definitely try it again! 🙏💖
I have tried to love the Celtic Cross but, no. I do not like it at all. This New Celtic Cross, however, looks very useful. Thank you for sharing! I will definitely give it a try.
Brilliant! Maybe you should start a counseling service for effed up princesses? They seem to be very materialistic and a little lazy. Plus the queen of Wands is clearly the witch.
The Celtic Cross intimidated the shit out of me as a new reader, and, even after growing into a reader who puts half the deck on the table 😅 it still hasn't appealed. I LOVE your take! I did a trial run using the tale of Vasillisa the Brave and Baba Yaga, from the perspective of the stepmother (let's be real, she needed advice the most!), and it was spot fucking on. I see myself using this layout a lot more.
Brilliant Celtic Cross! If I were to purchase your book "Tarot on Earth", would I find that the interpretations of the TDM are similar to what you've done here with the Rider Waite? (Not expecting to see this spread in the book, of course, but more interested in how you are getting these particular meanings given here, esp your 2 and 3 of swords), and would like to read more about them. You mentioned that you would not do a CC with a marseille deck so I am just wondering if your interps would be similar. I do use both decks and assume you mean that the visuals of a Waite deck lend themselves better to a CC for making visual connections.
I just bought Tarot on Earth and it's very much stripping back what you might have learned and focusing on the pips from an elemental, numerological and visual basis and then building on that for the majors. I don't own a Marseille deck yet, I am waiting on my copy of Tarot Morandi to ship, once I get it I'll be going through the reading exercises. I do think this approach can apply to RWS or other decks with more modern imagery but I would try to find a pip deck to work with. You could always get an app with a pip deck to practice with. Just my take.
@@rifflinthemind.5793 thanks! I read TDM myself. Was just wondering if his meanings in the book work with the RWS system. I really liked his interps in this video! 😄
Thanks for sharing your brilliance! I’ve always strongly disliked the traditional Celtic Cross. Yours seems so much more relevant. Even without having tried it yet, seems like your assessment that it isn’t as well suited to TdM is true.

Oh yay!!!! You made my day! I’m so happy.

this has become my go to spread, for me and others. love it!! love your work.
Love it ❤ Every time I watch one of your videos I want to binge watch your whole channel your vibe and knowledge is infectious to me ❤
Thanks Tom, will be using it. Thanks again for being so generous.
Oh this is cool. Thanks for sharing it with us! I’m looking forward to giving it a try. It’s been ages since I’ve done a Celtic Cross.

A little bit Alexis 😂 😂 😂 😂 Yaaaas! Love it. Great start to the video.
This was a delightful video. Thank you!
I lovelovelove this spread. It’s now officially in the regular rotation. Thank you for this gem!
Yes!!!!!
The Celtic Cross has always felt so vague to me and like you I find the 9 card spread more explanatory, so thank you for this.
This was great! Will have to make a note of your version to try it out.

Can I just say how delighted I am that you said "fuss budget?"
I’d love to see some of your “multiple cards per section” spreads!!
Thats a beautiful tarot deck. What is it called?

I think that’s a great idea!
I love this but I’m also curious which really deck that is with green and gold
I like! Adding this one to my book of spreads.
I like it!! Thank you for the revision.
Love this . But I love your videos no matter what. :)
Dohhh 🤣

It's an excellent book, by the way, I am learning so much and I've been studying tarot for several years.
HJ’s comments are pretty spot on. It’s compatible with RWS, but doesn’t really include it. ♥️
