Some parent thought of the "genius" strategy to clap in tempo in order to help their children, not knowing that they are insulting the percussionist on the drum set at the back left.
Raymond Narvaez Not of all the koreans agree with that. But it's a music concert for teenagers. So clapping their hands to their kids could make sense. Only for these cases.
In Korean traditional music, there is lots of drumming and dancing in it. It just comes down to that. It was/is ok to clap in those Korean performances as it is seen as incouraging, and people are just used to that.
i wish they did not clap . I don't have a problem with clapping but I just want to fully enjoy the music. I love this cover so much. Its slower than others
I think this is similar to the tradition of clapping with Radetzky's March. The piece is so famous that every audience has listened to it many times and every orchestra has played it many times. Clapping can be fun and doesn't really hurt anyone, since everyone knows what the music is supposed to be.
YOU NEVER CLAP OVER AN ORCHESTRA. It's rude, only a hillbilly would do it, a goddamn ignorant redneck. Educated people know better to not clap over an orchestra and ruin the piece for other listeners. It's just common sense and education, and respect for the people playing. Even a small clap could cover some of the more delicate instruments' sound. So, again, NO CLAPPING MID PIECE. Clap at the end like a decent person.
If anyone finds an orchestral or even orchestra-LIKE version without the clapping drowning out some of the delicate instruments, please hit me up. I don't really care if it's part of the culture or not, I'm just looking for a clean song piece to listen to while I work, rather than it sounding like I'm at a somewhat-classier concert.
@lalolight5954 This song is inspired by Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 8 in C minor, Opus 13 ("Pathétique"), 3rd Movement, Rondo: Allegro. Not by Beethoven and js from a rhythm game from what I know
Sára Lenavá I don't care if it's korean culture or what, those claps can mislead the instruments players about the rythim especially the drummer. So it's kinda a big deal especially if this was a competitive concert :/
+Rudy Sendjaja No. Me being a percussionist. You keep your eyes on your sheet and director. You block out everything else. Them clapping to me, is on 1 and 3. So it actually helps. Left foot always on 1 and 3.
What about the claps!? They give a feel of intensity to the song, and probably not only me agree. This pop/metal song comes from an old and beautiful sonata, and there is the classical version of the modern remix. Hope that more of you agree. Also, the claps are a part of their culture; they liked it.
claps in a classical concert are very impolite, but since Virus is part of pop culture nowadays (and that virus is a cool piece in itself), I can see why people would clap to it. But it is such a shame too for those who are finding a pure orchestra version -- including me -- of the performance without the clapping/drums part
@@forbiddenfursona Well, I think that music is subjective, because you can like some type of music and other people may not. I understand why you say that and I won't try to convince you to think the other way. I love music and people who makes it. :D

Not in south Korea

The composer told the audience to clap before the piece started. Reminder that this is a childrens’ orchestra

People saying this is the pop version of Beethoven. NO. The harmonies determines the music era, which in this piece are the same.
The fact that they are clapping is just Korean culture, and honestly I do not feel like it is ruining the song it almost feels like it belongs there.

As this piece is a western classical piece, clap is not allowed there, they require complete silence
