I find the characteristics of Ark's pod rather funny. It's a behemoth of a racer yet it's one of the best, if not *THE* best jumper Podracer. Not only that, it's still got a formidable speed. Although boost is lacking. Usually in racing, heavier vehicles accelerate poorly. Bumpy may have sabotaged the wrong racer in the movie but he isn't a moron considering the fact that he beat the odds of actuality with his racer.
