Have not heard anything, but I doubt it. Super was clearly in response to AMD's Navi, and there is no such competition present on the laptop side at the moment, so there's no need to change things up there.
I'm waiting for Sapphire to create their nitro+ lineup for their rx5600xt but if they don't do it, i think i'm gonna go with msi gaming x rtx 2060S, for the future proof purposes.

I tested both cards with that cpu is garbage get something better. Once you pair the 2070super you get a big bottleneck with that cpu depending on the game.

Jarrod would you recommend buying the Asus Gl504gw from Amazon and ship it from England to Holland? I am worried that the laptop will get broken on arrival
Shipping will probably be ok, I'd be more concerned about how warranty works if you need to send it somewhere for repair, does it go all the way back to Amazon?
thank you for the vid. Am upgrading from a GeForce GTX 275 (so anything is a massive upgrade LOL). I was highly considering the ROG STRIX 2060 because I've heard the temps are low and fans are quiet... But it's ~$20 cheaper than EVGA's RTX 2060 Super... So yeah I figure why not go for that since the price difference is only 20 for a straight upgrade in performance. Any input? The extra 2gb memory is a huge plus actually...
Haven't used any ASUS or EVGA stuff personally so really can't say there sorry, you'd have to check reviews of each to see, but at the end of the day the performance is probably extremely similar given they have the same GPU core, and yeah like you say anything will be an upgrade. The extra memory with super would probably give you some longevity if you plan on using it for a long period again.
Well... guess I'm getting a 2070 Super as a Christmas present for myself. Built my rig with a Zotac GeForce RTX 2060 AMP in April. It performs well with games at High details at 1080p and 2k, just isn't consistently getting towards the 144Hz range at 1080p though. Won't be selling the 2060 I already have though, as that can go into a smaller rig for other purposes.
If you want to change from an older VC to the RTX series, than 2060 Super is a good option. If on the other hand, you already have a RTX 2060 and consider changing it up to the Super version, it's a waste of money IMO.
I’m planning to upgrade to i5-10600KF and RTX 2060. Should I go for RTX 2060 Super instead? Price difference here in my country is €80. I have a 1080p/144hz monitor.
@@tinocabral4201 I personally have just the regular RTX2060, I run it liquid cooled and while heavy gaming Ive never had it top 55°C and regular playing is like 30-40°C. Got an 2060 OC for £277 off ebay, it's listed on Amazon for £322. I really want a 2060 Super for the performance boost and RGB on the logo but it's out of stock. I pre ordered for £420 on Amazon which has now updated to £459. I have secured £420 price but this could potentially have been a £182 difference between 2060 OC to 2060 Super which is just crazy for a 13% performance boost at 1080p.Prob roll with the 2060 OC until it's time to upgrade but think I'll have to upgrade from 550w at the same time unfortunately.
When you say system power draw do you mean the power draw of the WHOLE system or just the card, cause the recommended PSU is a 550W one but with your 288W tested my 500W seems to be good enough
What is your opinion on the new amd gpu which is the radeon VII? It has 16 gigs of vram and is pretty powerful. I think for games like shadow of war that go beyond the 8 gig of vram for maxed ultra 1080p it works well
Depends what you're using it for. For gaming the RTX 2080 is generally cheaper and outperforms it. If you actually need the memory for pro tasks then it may be worthwhile, though it is marketed as a gaming card, and for gaming the 2080 beats it in most regions.
does the smaller form factor of the ZOTAC RTX 2060 have a large impact? Because I can get it for 320€ compared to the 400-420€ for the cheapest super. I have generally really good thermals in my system with 1 140mm fan in front and back and one 120 on top.
I will compare these in the future, it's hard to do as both laptops have different CPUs, but I'll be able to do this soon while minimizing this as much as possible.
I'm going for the 2060 gaming pro version of Gigabyte, getting it for about 380€. Here in Italy it's more expensive apparently, as the Super ones all go for about 480-500€, a 100€ difference is too much imo, not worth the price difference, at least in my country :/
HELP which card do I get? I stream using streamlabs obs and constantly have dropped frames, so I'd like to put an end to that by upgrading my gpu. Currently in the US you can buy a Gigabyte OC 3 fan rtx 2060 for $300, and a founder's edition 2060 super for $400. I'm not sure if $100 is worth the varying 13%-16% performance difference, but 2gb more vram is what's killing me on this decision. What's your opinion?
I honestly don't have much streaming experience, but given both have NVENC I'd expect either to be pretty good. $100 extra for Super doesn't really seem worth it, 6gb still seems to be plenty for 1080p/1440p gaming today, despite other commenters screaming from the hills that 6gb has been dead for years.
I haven't tested the 5700 myself, but from the benchmarks I've seen it appears to have similar performance to the 2060 super for a lower price point, so better dollar per frame.
There are perks and synergy to having a full AMD build/ecosystem. AMD Radeon 5700 at 300$ or the Radeon 5700XT at 400$ are much better value than either 400$ RTX 2060 Super or 500$ RTX 2070 Super. Navi cards already match super ones performance wise and they will outperform super cards once drivers are mature in a couple of months. Ray Tracing is uselss too, freesync, sharpening and anti lag is not.
In my country, Rtx 2060---->$340 Rtx 2060s-->$500 Rtx 2070---->$510 Rtx 2070s-->$600 Rx 5700----->$450 (xfx ultra dd) Rx 570 4g-->$150 Which is best value for money? (My monitor: lg 24gl600f & i play pubg lite, cs go, apex legend, war thunder...)
Overkill, after a point it hardly makes a practical difference in most cases. Depends on the software, Adobe premiere / Photoshop won't see an advantage but maybe resolve might as it depends more on GPU, at least from what I've heard, I have no experience there.
But another problem, if now the "old" 2060 drops the price and it does not make anymore... maybe is more interesting vs 1660 ti, even on 1080p at 60hz if only cost 15 or 30$ more than the 1660 Ti, no?
I think they're keeping the original 2060, at least that's what I heard, just the 2070 super replacing the original 2070, but who knows if that will change.
Got a 2060 weeks before super was to release.Back then there was still no price for super.Glad I didn't wait for the super, as I couldn't afford it, cause I had the feeling it would be way over my budget.Just by getting a 2060 I was going over budget anyway.I usually prefer the 250 bucks cards.Going for a 350 one was already too much. Also, I don't like the stock founders cards. If somebody wants a 2060 super, you might as well go with an aftermarket one that costs around 450 bucks. There's your 100 bucks difference. For barely 10 FPS difference and 2 extra gigs I wouldn't do it.Besides....i upgraded from a R9 280 to this card almost 6 years later.Im fine with what I have and I'm not pissed at super at all, cause I knew what was gonna happen and how things were gonna go down. My rule?If a card isn't at LEAST 100% more powerful than what I got at the same price range, then I'm not gonna bother.
Depends on the price of the cheaper one, I'd work out how much percentage extra the Super is then compare that to the performance improvement percentage.
Can you also do some benchmarks for ryzen 5 3600 with Rtx 2070S or Rtx 2080 since other channels do it with rtx 2080ti which an average user won't pair with this cpu.
I might buy it, we'll see. 2080 Ti is used for CPU comparisons, you want to reduce GPU bottleneck as much as possible, we're not aiming to showcase performance for the regular user.
I want the super one , but thus far most of the 2060 supers cost like 450 or even more. Of course black Friday anc cyber Monday are just around the corner so idk. Now regarding the performance my tv is 100hz so I can't have more than 100fps anyway, so the only reason I'm thinking of buying a super is due to the 8gb of vram
Can you tell, if the difference between msi rtx 2060S gaming x and armor oc is just design or is there legit hardware difference? Armor is like 15 euro cheaper than gaming x version
Awesome video, I have the option to buy a lightly used msi rtx2060 for $250. Idk if I should do that or go with a 2060super for $400. I'm thinking it's not that much better in this case for $150 more. What do you guys think? I'm building my first PC and most likely will have a ryzen5 3600, seems to be pretty good. I'll be gaming on a 1080p 144hz monitor. Thanks!@Jarrod'sTech
Thanks, that's a pretty big difference, I'd probably get the $250 2060 in that case. That's 60% more money to get the Super for on average in the games I tested a 13% boost to average FPS at 1080p.
@@munceanchan9432 Hmm still doesn't seem worth it for an on average 13% increase at 1080p, but comes down to the games you're playing, settings in use, resolution, and frame rates you want to target.
the comparison is not exactly apples to apples. meaning the msi on is the high end one (gaming x) while the gigabyte one is on the low end (windforce compared to gaming oc and aorus). so the gap between those to is greater. you should have compared the gigabyte windforce with msi ventus or the msi gaming x with gigabyte aorus.
Indeed, I tried to borrow a 2060 Gaming X from MSI but they did not have one available and as a small channel I can only work with what I'm able to get my hands on. In any case the gap of a few FPS max doesn't change the conclusion. Please feel free to donate to me so I can afford to buy exact same models for testing 😉😉
Honestly, I don't know if the jump to the 2060 super is worth it, the majority of games that you get good FPS at 1440p on the super, you get good FPS on 2060 as well. If the FPS is low, it's around 50-60 on the super, which isn't great either..
So, I'm upgrading my video card and need to go to nvidia because I'm beyond frustrated with radeon drivers and video encoder, anyhow I have an rx 580 and looking to upgrade for 1080p gaming and streaming to twitch, what would be better for that, super or non-super???
Jarrod, what do you recommend, was looking at Zotac amp edition or gigabyte OC 3 fan one, are both brands really good?? Reviews are so mixed these days
@@JarrodsTech Yeah, even i am still a bit too hesitant to upgrade my Rx580 , every game runs fine on 1080p ... the only reason i am even "considering " is because of nvidia tools like the sound and green screen ones of the RTX series. At this point , i dont recommend my friends who has 60hz monitor to buy new cards , i always tell me to get used 1060 or rx 580 and call it a day ... they run all games.
I've been playing Cyberpunk 2077 on a fairly powerful rig ( I7 10700K, 32gb ram, NVME SSD and a GTX 1080 Ti. I had to fiddle with the setting quite a bit to get a solid 60FPS at 1440p. I then swapped out the 1080 Ti with my friends Zotac RTX 2060 (non super) for comparison. With the same settings the 2060 couldn't hit a solid 60fps, but once DLSS was enabled at quality settings it was rock solid at 1440p at 60fps. In fact the results looked sharper than the 1080 Ti without any noticeable loss of detail, I am very impressed. Of course most games don't offer DLSS, but more and more will. To answer your original question the performance difference between the super and non super is around 8 to15%, though having more VRAM is also nice.
@@davapod yup thx for the advice just want to know first because I was afraid there's going to be too much buggy issues when I play the game on 1080p but not 1440p as long as its sold 60fps then it's fine for now and I think upgrading to a 2060 super wont be like huge huge double performance increase
I'm just waiting for the Intel prices to crash. Can't wait to get my hands on a 9900k with smashed prices. :3 Also..Damn you are quick on the jar Jarrod. Don't see too many desktop reviews from you but definitely appreciate this. But i think i might skimp out on this one at least until my 1080ti dies off.Which im hoping is nowhere near soon. But i'd actually like to see a comparison of the 1080ti with the 2070,2080 and their super brethren at what they might be at now compared to launch.
Cheers! I tested out around 10 CPUs in the lead up to getting the Zen 2 stuff, so will have plenty more comparisons on the way, still need to buy a 3600 too, maybe I'll just put one out a week or something around the laptop stuff we'll see 👍
This is why I don't like when people use percentages to talk about PC parts it's only 12% faster yeah and that was what 20fps at 1440p in battlefield which is a huge difference
Please I really need help. Right now I'm thorn between getting a 2060 super or the 2070 non-super. The ideal price that I want to spend for a GPU is around $440 being the minimum, $500 being the max. I just found an Asus Strix 2070 that cost around $500 Or should I just go for Aorus 2060super? that cost the exact same?
If you see this and wanted a 2060, id just get this. Its not a 2070, but its closer to it. If your never going to do above 1080p, the 2060 is technically more appropriate, but if your even thinking about 1440p on any game, the small bit more USD is worth it. Dont tbink about how it will be know, think about how it will be and 4 or 6 years.
@@MrAbomosaa Alright, thanks! I'm going to do video editing and recording with the card, I was thinking about getting the 5700xt instead of the rx 2060 (same price) but the encoder from the Rx card is less great :/

Do you have any idea if there will be any laptops released with the new rtx super GPUs?
Have not heard anything, but I doubt it. Super was clearly in response to AMD's Navi, and there is no such competition present on the laptop side at the moment, so there's no need to change things up there.
If 2070 super non q would fit in laptops we could play BF5 with RTX
I guess at least the 2070 MQ has the higher VRAM so maybe it plays a bit better with RTX on.
I'm waiting for Sapphire to create their nitro+ lineup for their rx5600xt but if they don't do it, i think i'm gonna go with msi gaming x rtx 2060S, for the future proof purposes.
I love my RTX 2060 Super would definitely recommend anybody deciding which one you want!

Great content yet again. I think the super is defo worth it.
Ps : Jarrod any news on when we can expect the full review of the Aero 15 OLED.
@Dude Sensitive Ass thanks man.
I am going to try finish it this week, might be up early next week. I've had to put everything on hold during the 2060 Super / AMD 3900X and 3700X testing but that's done now.
Superb review as always mate! I wonder how long it takes to create a new content from A to Z (installing the hardware, performing the tests, creating the slides and slapping the voice-over on it, etc.). I reckon at least 12 hours per video?
Depends on the video, but yeah at least that. The recent CPU ones for instance took multiple 15 hour days.
Should I go RTX 2060 or RTX 2060 super with my i5 8400?
I tested both cards with that cpu is garbage get something better. Once you pair the 2070super you get a big bottleneck with that cpu depending on the game.

Nice ! But can you add performance of productivity works too along with gaming performance, such as renders blender vray bench etc..
Hmm maybe, the channel is more gaming focused so I typically only cover games in GPU comparisons. I usually leave those sorts of tests for CPU comparisons.
$20 Difference? The rtx2060 is $300 while the super is $400 ...
Well... guess I'm getting a 2070 Super as a Christmas present for myself.
Cool, hope it goes well!
If you want to change from an older VC to the RTX series, than 2060 Super is a good option. If on the other hand, you already have a RTX 2060 and consider changing it up to the Super version, it's a waste of money IMO.
I just recieve my rtx 2060 and they just lauch rtx2060 super. I havent opened it.. me sooo heart broken

Lol pay attention? If u buy a 2060 then right after they announce super rtx..this is bs
If it's unopened and you actually want super you could try take it back.
Well atleast u didnt buy the 2070 then. That woyld hurt even more lol
Well you have a month to return it with a full refund!
I’m planning to upgrade to i5-10600KF and RTX 2060. Should I go for RTX 2060 Super instead? Price difference here in my country is €80. I have a 1080p/144hz monitor.
I absolutely love my RTX 2060 I've had it for maybe 3 months. I would recommend it or the super 100%
Good to hear they're going well 👌
Me to but super makes me sick lol
Devon Diamond What model of 2060 do you have? And how is it temps and noise wise?
@@tinocabral4201 I personally have just the regular RTX2060, I run it liquid cooled and while heavy gaming Ive never had it top 55°C and regular playing is like 30-40°C. Should I go with the 2060 or the 1660 super
Hmm I guess depends what other hardware you run, but I'd think the 550W would probably be alright for the 2060S.
I got 2060. I7 8700k. Is a budjet gpu. Is this pairing between cpu and gpu ideal for smooth gaming in 2022. Your comments please.
1080p 60 frames, yes
1440p 60 fps, will drop below 60
4k, buy 3090 or 40 series
Make this blue if you have 4 cores or above
I have 2.3 cores 🥔😭
When you say system power draw do you mean the power draw of the WHOLE system or just the card, cause the recommended PSU is a 550W one but with your 288W tested my 500W seems to be good enough
The entire system, I have no way of only measuring the card
Compared to what, another 2060? No not really, difference would be minimal
@@JarrodsTech Thanks.
Hey Jarrod, I want know how much are the 1660 TI are better than the 1060 in Laptop?
I will compare these in the future, it's hard to do as both laptops have different CPUs, but I'll be able to do this soon while minimizing this as much as possible.
I'm going for the 2060 gaming pro version of Gigabyte, getting it for about 380€. Here in Italy it's more expensive apparently, as the Super ones all go for about 480-500€, a 100€ difference is too much imo, not worth the price difference, at least in my country :/
Fair enough!
Basically what the rtx 2060 should have been. But Nvidia is just too greedy.
🙃
Nice comparison.
RTX 2060 Super and RTX 2070 Super is Sweet Chin Music for AMD

no its chokeslam
Hey Jarrod, do you think I should get RX 5700/XT or RTX 2060 with Ryzen 7 2700x? Thanks in advance and great video! :)
I haven't tested the 5700 myself, but from the benchmarks I've seen it appears to have similar performance to the 2060 super for a lower price point, so better dollar per frame.
@@JarrodsTech Yeah, thats what I'm thinking too. Thanks man once again 🙂
No problem!
In my country,
Rtx 2060---->$340
Rtx 2060s-->$500
Rtx 2070---->$510
Rtx 2070s-->$600
Rx 5700----->$450 (xfx ultra dd)
Rx 570 4g-->$150
Which is best value for money?
(My monitor: lg 24gl600f & i play pubg lite, cs go, apex legend, war thunder...)
I haven't tested most of those so honestly cannot say. Check Hardware Unboxed, they have dollar per frame values for pretty much all current GPUs.
@@JarrodsTech okey. Thank u very much.
I don't use it for gaming, but I do use it for photo and video editing. Would I still benefit from this card or would it be overkill?
Fair enough, sounds like a nice upgrade!
If you are going for 3D rendering, what would the best? RTX 2060 or 2060 s?

So brother should I buy Rx 5600xt or rtx 2060 . Also heard people having driver problems with 5600
How long ago were people saying that, because apparently a lot of the Radeon driver issues are fixed: ua-cam.com/video/ptDRxBxwUfU/v-deo.html
Is it worth getting it considering its 100$ more expensive than the normal one?
Depends on the price of the cheaper one, I'd work out how much percentage extra the Super is then compare that to the performance improvement percentage.
At a $100 difference...... no
Can you also do some benchmarks for ryzen 5 3600 with Rtx 2070S or Rtx 2080 since other channels do it with rtx 2080ti which an average user won't pair with this cpu.
I might buy it, we'll see. 2080 Ti is used for CPU comparisons, you want to reduce GPU bottleneck as much as possible, we're not aiming to showcase performance for the regular user.
@@JarrodsTech you are the only UA-cam that replies to my comment, Thanks for being good.

Thanks, that's a pretty big difference, I'd probably get the $250 2060 in that case. That's 60% more money to get the Super for on average in the games I tested a 13% boost to average FPS at 1080p.
@@JarrodsTech how about 30% price difference between 2060 and 2060 super?
@@munceanchan9432 Hmm still doesn't seem worth it for an on average 13% increase at 1080p, but comes down to the games you're playing, settings in use, resolution, and frame rates you want to target.

Howwww
the comparison is not exactly apples to apples. meaning the msi on is the high end one (gaming x) while the gigabyte one is on the low end (windforce compared to gaming oc and aorus). so the gap between those to is greater. you should have compared the gigabyte windforce with msi ventus or the msi gaming x with gigabyte aorus.
I am getting 2060 it where I live costs 289JD(400USD) when 2060 s 385 (540USD) for the cheapest version and that doesn’t make any sense to me

Honestly, I don't know if the jump to the 2060 super is worth it, the majority of games that you get good FPS at 1440p on the super, you get good FPS on 2060 as well.
If the FPS is low, it's around 50-60 on the super, which isn't great either..

@@JarrodsTech Yeah, even i am still a bit too hesitant to upgrade my Rx580 , every game runs fine on 1080p ... the only reason i am even "considering " is because of nvidia tools like the sound and green screen ones of the RTX series.

So I looking at this video because Cyberpunk 2077 is out just want to know what's the performance difference between the RTX 2060 or the super one

Is it worth it to buy 2060 super now? Or just wait for amphere line up?
Not sure, don't know anything about ampere, I guess depends if you need something now or you're fine waiting for some undisclosed number of months.
