I go in and out of the knife hobby as I have time / money. It’s fun to look up a knife on UA-cam that I am considering buying normally a while after a knife came out and knowing there will be a metal complex review of it!
I still love Benchmade, but the pricing on these limited editions lately is crazy. I buy Benchmade knives regularly, but I tend to wait for sales or use retailers that sell below MAP, like GPKnives. And the CF Magnacut Mini Adamas seems to have been well received from what I've seen.
I also wait for sales. Their recent pricing is a big middle finger to knife enthusiasts who were fans, but I personally don’t care too much. I just care about the pricing of their base models. There are plenty of fantastic USA made scales and other accessories to pimp a base knife with, plus then I’m supporting small businesses as well.
BladeHQ has the gray Demkos for $119.00 right now in May 2024. Had to pick one up at that price!
Same. Great deal I'm surprised they have any left at that price. Even without being a 20.5, a knife with g10 and 20cv and sharklock for $119 is crazy.

I’m a big fan of Original Goat too. I got some of their scales for my Magnacut Deka and they are great.
I mean in a good way the vosteed raccoon very much reminds me of a budget version of the kunwu pulsar (which is a phenomenal knife) with slightly worse ergonomics… so for $60 hell yeah and if you want a higher end version of the raccoon I recommend the pulsar lol
7 months later and I just got the $290 AD20.5 20cv slicer in ultem for $150 on sale. I'm gonna swap the blade out with the 3v sharksfoot blade sitting in textured titanium and make a stainless textured titanium slicer. Benefit of having same blade stock thickness and lock face geometry.
Vosteed fixed the button locks on racoons but the axis lock is great
Just ordered one of those Demkos that are now 120 on their website.
Had to jump on the 20CV/G10 AD20.5 at the current sale price of $120. (Ultem models are available for $140 btw.) The pricing on the AD20.5 had been pretty off-putting to me, but 20CV and G10 for less than they normally want for AUS-10A and Grivory finally got me to bite.
I bought a 500€ custom knife just this afternoon, I've watched your video and now a vosteed racoon is on it's way to my house. Love your videos thanks and I wish you the best for for the future.

I just purchased that demko AD20.5 priced at 265 for only 150 on blade HQ AND I used my blade member points for 50 bucks off. They have a crazy sale going on right now and I'm so so SOOOOO glad I waited to get one... Literally saved 100 bucks plus the 50.
I just got the blade HQ exclusive gray for $119. It will be my new EDC at least till I make another impulse buy. 😅

@@heres_the_sauce yeah I was going to pull the trigger on the cheaper D2 version but then this went on sale so I had to get it. I would definitely buy through blade HQ if you do buy it.
I'm holding out for a more interesting scale/steel combination on the Military 2....it'll happen sooner or later.
Love my AD20.5 it has some of the grippiest scales of any knife around. And endlessly fidget-able

vosteed did a 180 with their raccoon button lock problem, the new ones are updated and massively stronger, heavy detent. cant wait to pick up a big beluga now that theyre in 14c
Thanks for the heads up..but 275 for g10...and 300 for ultem...dang demko is crazy...hard pass..even that blade is bada$$..like the sorta peanut shaped slot too..
Paid $275 for my Stitch RAM-LOK, same material but made in US. Prices in general are nutty.

White mountain knives has exclusive raccoons in aluminum frag scales . Huge upgrade to the knife and is so nice. Under 75 bucks.
I'm on the fence with a crossbar raccoon or button lock Wharncliffe pyrite. I CAN'T DECIDE
@@shaggy_e210 I would go for the crossbar lock. MC pointed out that the button lock Raccoon failed when tested. Maybe the new version is better, but I trust the crossbar lock version more
If I climb the ladder um I may have passed it because I've enjoyed knives since I was in cub scouts

I got a shaman in m4 $280 and i can get a set of custom titanium scales $100-$120 bringing it to a total of $400 give or take 20 bucks for taxes/shipping... id rather have a spyderco heat treat and their qc over benchmade any day.. i own a benchmade pardue manual its a great knife but way too thin just like the bugout

Who TF buys Benchmade knives? $170 for a Bugout that's inferior to many $50 Chinese budget knives? C'mon now.
Love the Bailout, it's what the Bugout should've been. That $600 price tag is mental. Would rather just buy a baseline model and slap on some Flytanium Scales.
My most recent pick up was the Blade HQ Exclusive B'yond EDC River Wolf, for $200 it seemed like a steal.
That we knife is strange looking but not in a good way... finding out it's integral makes it a bit better but I reckon it'll become one of those knives that were just gimmicky... the cybernetic though... that's gonna be a timeless beauty

I get to listening do you knife people on UA-cam I go out and buy hundred and fifty dollars s35 vn can't sharpen it worth a damn had very cheap lock blade 440 stainless steel blade can sharpen it good less than a minute I'm an old man always carried been through lots of trappers and sodbusters made by case even had an eye brand one time that was really easy to show up and I wish somebody would make one of them like crkt design assisted 1095 carbon blade that would be something I could use esse fixed blade will take razor edge Arkansas Stone or aluminum oxide less than a minute do you know anyone that makes what I am describing nice flipper style assist with 1095 blade
Try diamond stones. S35VN and many other steels aren't very difficult to sharpen if you use the right stone.

@zbaird3 If you define "support" as "show or talk about in any capacity", that's a "you" problem. I don't define "support" that way. To me, "supporting" Benchmade's pricing would be reviewing one of their knives and then at the end of the video saying "the price is totally fair and you should buy this knife", but that's rarely the case. Generally, I give Benchmade knives a fair review in terms of the design pointing out what I think is good and bad, but towards the end when pricing is the topic, I'm always very clear about my stance. Their knives are typically too much money and I DON'T recommend them.
Touring a retail site and stopping to look or comment on a Benchmade knife isn't "supporting" anything. If you think otherwise, sorry, but you'll just have to deal with it.

I’m from NY but I can use any other online knife business they will send me a knife , if I try to buy from Blade HQ I get we cannot send to this address , so I give Blade HQ a huge Raspberry and a giant thumbs down 👎
