I'm growing some indoors. They are a remarkable sight to watch as they grow. But when they mature I'll be roasting and salting them. They are a great snack.
Nice, I just got my sunflowers 🌻 seeds in the mail today to help the bees 🌻🐝 💛 It’s gonna be my first time trying to plant something so I’m doing a little research to help me a bit. Haha so thanks for the video! Helped me understand ☺️❤️
Wish I'd seen your video a few weeks ago! I made a garden bed and sowed some seeds...within a few days they all popped up. Next morning, there were holes in the bed and ALL my seedlings were GONE!
Hello, I'm new to your channel and I enjoy the fact that you don't try to make a whole show of everything. Anyways I just wanted to say I plant sun flowers direct ( I'm 6 b, ohio ) I use bricks to do it. You know the bricks that have 2,4 or 6 holes in them. So I lay the brick down drop the seed in the hole and touch the seed down with a pencil, leaving the brick . The brick helps keep the plant sturdy when older and keeps the birds from being able to eat the seedlings, p.s. also helps retain moisture. Looking forward to more videos. T
Thanks for giving me all the Tips and tricks I’m a total beginner and a kid and now I’m watering Safari for myself but thanks for the tips I’m in California so I won’t have the bird problem I think
I love love sunflowers. I also love cardinals. I put out tons of loose sunflower seeds in a space I have exclusively for birds. I put feeders and a bath there for them too. So far they have respected my garden, and the seeds I sow there. Knock on wood. Now that I wrote this...I won't see anything bloom! Knock knock knock. Oh...and I am convinced that the birds in my garden watch me. They see me give them seeds and water, so they definitely see me plant my own seeds....and give them water. I bet that's how they know exactly where they are.
I'm currently planting sunflowers in my yard. Last year, the squirrels dug up and ate every seed but one. It grew to 12 feet tall. Yeah! However, this year I'm trying two different solutions...covering the planted seeds with tulle fabric or clear plastic rectangular domes. I hate starting seedlings inside.
Hi, I am a beginner, so please bare with me. I have/had the really tall sunflowers.... then we had a storm and they blew straight out of the ground.. so I fixed that and made it more sturdy... anyway they opened up and they were amazing!!!! So the sees are still in the flower part, do we call it a bulb? Anyway can I just plant the flower bulb that has had its day, and will it produce more when it’s ready?
my parents gave me full permission to start a garden and they're worried because I'm making plans for it which they think is stressful but? A way I protect my sunflower seedlings from birds and squirrel is I buy these metal baskets from the dollar store and put them over the seedlings. I buy the taller ones to let it grow a bit.
I usually wait to "winter sow" sunflowers about two weeks before the last frost date. By that time, most all of the very cold weather has passed. I hope that helps. :) :)
My sunflower starts blooming in 50 days but some of it's leaves didn't go to full bloom because it's very thin and some matured early because they start blooming eventhough their small. They all start to die veri quickly than expected. I planted big head and maybe they need enough space? Will i grow it again or i'll look for another variety of sunflower? Thank you
I planted some sunflowers indoors and they are starting to grow and as they get taller they are starting to fall over, would you recommend giving them some support or letting them just continue to grow ( first time planting!)
It's only 30.00 for a 50lb bag. My chickens plant my seed on my leech field. Hundreds I have to thin them. Mine don't need nutrient rich soil because they purify the ground.
My father recently passed away. Above his coffin was a spray of flowers. I took two sunflowers from the arrangement. How do I start a garden with those?
How many sunflowers should I plant to cut and add to bouquets to sell to the farmers market? Obviously growing other flowers too, but want to add sunflowers to the mix. I'm aiming for about 10-15 bouquets per week through the growing season.

Hello, i want to ask about browning/yellowing of leaves. Some of my baby sunflowers’ bottom leaves have a brown color at their tips and others have a yellowish color before they become very crispy and eventually crumble and die. But I assume it’s Not overwatering as they’re blooming just fine. One baby flower opened yesterday! So what am I doing wrong? Are they not getting enough water? And how much water do they need per day? Thanks.
As long as the majority of the plant is green and healthy, I wouldn't worry. Sometimes, older leaves will dry and fall off over time - especially when the flowers start to bloom. 🌱🌱🌱

Or you could place netting around the heads.
