87 was the first year for the R/V series & gasoline fuel injected motors & the last year for those generation half ton & three quarter ton regular cab pickups which makes that R10 pickup there unique.
@@mccartyspeedandfab fun facts 1991 was the very last year for those generation pickups & SUVs. First the one ton regular cab pickups were finished in 1989 & then the crew cab pickups & SUVs which were the last models left in production were finished in 1991. Why the series were changed to R/V series in 1987 was to make a distinction between them & the upcoming next generation C/K series pickups for the 1988 model year because they wanted to help people avoid confusion with the two different body designs since they both were gonna be in production at the same time which lasted up through 1991.
@@mccartyspeedandfab also what's interesting is the half ton pickups like that R10 there that were sold down in Mexico were also produced up through 1991 which was surprising because I thought all of the half ton & three quarter ton regular cab pickups all over the world were done in 1987.
@@mccartyspeedandfab rewind to 1973 which was the first year for that body design except the nose on the front, emblems, interior, optional bodyside molding trim, & fleetside tailgate had different designs. @@codyharris805 you should be good as long as you keep the boost down and have a conservative tuneup. Just run race gas or e85 setup if you decide to turn it up!

@@RedRockIndustries thanks! It’s so hard to beat a twin turbo setup on a 6.0! That will be sweet in a dually! We have changed to a set of black widow mufflers on it recently and added some electric cutouts!
This one is pretty simple setup. Flip kit with one leaf spring removed out of the pack. Caltrac bars, junk shocks, and a 275/60/15 drag radial! His 60ft time could be better but the suspension really still needs to be dialed in!
Thanks Adam! That was actually my very first full turbo build. I had done cold side setups on two well known local turbo cars before that but never done a full setup myself.
Flip kit in the back with overload spring removed. Front at the time of the video was a spindle and a full round cut out of the springs. Now it has a full QA1 suspension setup in the front but sits the same

There is really nothing electronic for it to cook 🤷🏽♂️ecu is inside, coil packs are relocated, harness is all tucked away from anything hot.
@@mccartyspeedandfab what coil packs is he running?
Stock silverado coils. Over 10k miles on a used set and has been great with no issues

What fuel pump(s) are you running? In line or in tank?
This is a Aeromotive dual phantom 340 drop in setup. I made it work in a factory 87 driver side tank. I hardly ever do in-line setups anymore
