Best one of many I have seen on this subject. VERY clear instructions in how to use the gauge.

Thanks for the info! Really easy to understand for a noob like me! Unfortunately, my compressor is bad. Reads the same static and on.

hello i have problem with a car am working on the reading and getting on the low side is 70 psi and 230 on the high side and the needle on the high side vibrates with ambient temp of 100 degree f are you saying it could be faulty TXV based on your explanation?

charged? A.C. is fully charged, the pressure is 50 / 150 on the gauge but it is steady and compressor continuously engaged and won't cycle but as soon as you rev the engine it will drop to 40/175 cooling to 60 degrees max.Is that a compressor problem or TXV or orifice tube?

Interesting ! My compressor and fans do not come on when I turn the ac switch on. I got a p0533 high pressure in the system, so I believe it the system high pressure switch is keeping it from coming on. I used a scan tool HDS and read the psi and it is a weird number , something like 14523 , don't know how to read it. I believe it can't be 14, 523 psi , cause the system would have exploded. I replaced the high pressure switch and it still reads the same.. I let out refrigerant and the system still doesn't kick on. I used the scan tool to test the fans and the compressor clutch and they work..I removed the clutch compressor relay added power to the clutch with the ac switch on car running and added front. As long as I have power to the clutch it runs but the numbers sky rocket on the high side , I think the expansion valve is stuck 99% shut. I will replace it and see if anything changes after evac and recharge of course. Any suggestions? Oh by the way it's a 2007 Honda CR-V 2.4 L automatic EX.
