  • 16 Eloise Street was built in 1920, which means it turned 100 years old last year (2020). It was the first house built on Eloise Street.
Recently, an ugly car dealership sat across from the 16 Eloise Street house. The property owner opted to sell the house to a shopping center developer.
At the time the shopping center was built, historic homes sat across the street from the 16 Eloise house. The shopping center paid the homeowners $500,000 to buy the houses so they could be torn down, thereby creating more parking space for the shopping center.
Dom and Maggie bought the 16 Eloise house in November 2020. The original intent was to renovate the house. They would live in the house until a long-term house was found in Asheville, and then rent the 16 Eloise house.
However, they made their first-ever trip to Greenville SC so Maggie could buy another car, and fell in love with the town center of Greenville - largely due to the narrowing of Main Street (which quickly restored that street from abandonment and crime to a healthy, thriving place).
Dom and Maggie soon decided that instead of settling in Asheville, they would move to Greenville.
The new plan became to renovate 16 Eloise and sell it.
