Guards SP Triston McKenzie pitched somewhat okay but giving up 3 solo homers....not so good. I am thankful, Mets SP Jose Quintana no longer pitches for the white sox and the many times he has beaten the Indians in years past. After 5 grueling innings, the Guards were finally able to knock him out of the game with clutch hitter, 2B Andres Gimenez' 3 run homer. Rookie DH -1B Kyle Manzardo slowly continues to have good at-bats against MLB with a clutch extra base hit to drive in a run. Kudos to CLE rookie OF Jonathan Rodriguez' first MLB hit. Go Guards!
Ya know...I'm warming up to MacKenzie, and I think he's finding himself and getting better. But that boy has got to be leading the majors in home runs given up in the first inning. Christ, it seems like every start he gets, he's giving up a dinger right out of the gate.
