I’m glad the Braves won, but this was shocking for this lineup. The Braves won this one with their one remaining good pitcher. The Reds still have some solid starters coming up, the Braves don’t.
The announcers have such a man crush on Bauer it was so annoying the level of bias they showed towards him. Almost had to watch the game on mute. And a lot of those strikeouts were just bad batting on the Braves’ part. When the ball is straight down the middle you can’t sit there & watch it for a called third strike. And the home plate umpire wasn’t giving the Braves any help on either end. Plus that interference by Barnhart in the top of the 12 was kinda b.s.
Im a braves fan but the interference did nothing. It was a strikeout so the runner had to go back to first anyways. He didnt advance to 2nd. So no the interference wasnt bs because it changed literally nothing.
What bias? The entire time the announcers were literally rooting FOR the Braves. "Too bad that didn't land." "So glad he caught that." "Thank goodness for Freeman!" all game. There's a difference between "what a play!" and "I'm *glad* made that play". The Reds received none of that other than Trevor Bauer's stat lines being read aloud because he's literally the Cy Young. Take your win and be happy, chief.
As a Reds fan, everything about this game doesn’t sit well. Bauer now has more reasons to leave, base running and hitting are atrocious at best, and David Bell can’t seem to avoid the bad decision when runs are needed most. Can’t blame Bell for lack of hitting, but calling a double steal in a scoreless game with Bauer pitching.. that’s a high school move that only sometimes works.
Anyone Braves or Red thinks this game wasn't good is silly. Any other team I think the Reds would have had the W. Lights out by both Pitchers. #ForTheA
If a bat flip is excessive celebration that is hurtful to the opposing pitcher, how come Trevor can walk off the mount flapping his arms like a fish, and no one bats an eye?
I pride myself and think of myself as, a man of faith, as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that'll be a homerun. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame. I don't know if I'll be putting on this headset again. Whether that be for the Reds or my bosses at FOX
