As someone that started on software using the old Logic sampler before I ever had any hardware, this workflow is just 100x better than the normal MPC approach. Love what they did with this update, thanks for all the good videos on the new workflow.

I bought my mpc one a couple of years ago . Even though I'm 48 and have been into hip hop since I was eight years old. I was mostly into writing lyrics and trying to find a producer that would inspire me to lay the bomb track of vocals. It was hard to find the right sounds back then. I came back to hip hop after getting side tracked with reality. Now for the first time I can learn by myself how it's done. It's not easy for first timers, I'm just getting familiar with all that goes with it. So I'm sure I'm not alone , I'm apprehensive about upgrading because I don't want the confusion. So I stay with the original software.
Keep getting busy with it bro. I'm 52 and I really love hip hop too. I was fortunate enough to be able to buy a few pieces of gear, MPC one plus and the key 37. I copped the stems, bought expansion packs and sample libraries and the MPC software. Because of work and family stuff I haven't been able to go hard but I'm all set to go with everything. So good luck and keep cooking up whether it's once a week or everyday just keep going bro. Your post inspired me.
Biggest difference is there’s no programs in 3.0 just tracks, so if you familiar with 2.0 it’s easy to use the upgrade. Also if you don’t like it you can press the downgrade option & it’ll bring back to 2.
Great to see this method of arranging. What would make it even speedy to build an arrangement, would be if the clip grid functionality of the force was included in MPC 3.0. There could be a seperate overview screen of the 64 pad matrix. The pad bank selection buttons could select which of the 16 pads buttons you were currently using (imagine the 64 grid divided into 4 quadrants) or you could plug in a grid controller like the APC mini or APC64 controller.
MPC 3.0 Honestly, I think 3.0 is cool. It’s a welcomed solid update overall. Once the kinks are ironed out and some of the legacy functionality restored, it will be on point and usable for the near future. Overall, I believe its was good of Akai to put this update out free of charge. It keeps the community excited, engaged and inspired! When this generation of MPC’s dropped back in 2017 it was pretty monumental. The X and the Live have both been a huge success overall a game changer to be fair. But with that, are getting to the end of their shelf life now and need an update… I feel it’s time for them to update the hardware and OS completely from the ground up. Faster processor, more on-board ram, enhanced I/O ect. I’d certainly pay for that over a re-dressed MPC SE.. These machines are 7 years old now. This new update is just putting lipstick on a pig. Other than disk streaming, there’s nothing really new here other than a streamlined workflow and the arranger borrowed from the Force. People have cried about the sound quality of the current machines. I don’t disagree at all. These units just don’t sound like the legacy. I think the next move from Akai is to make a hybrid, hybrid- with standalone/controller capability and hybrid LoFI/HiFI option kinda like the Isla S2400… Let’s be real… The current vintage built in effects are just the AiR plug ins in disguise with a different name and GUI.. They sound ass cheeks to me IMHO. Akai!!! Give us back the real MPC sound!! Get Rodger Linn involved. The man’s a living legend and started it ALL. They owe it to him. Hey Malo, thanks for the video. Really helpful as always! Do have any idea or maybe planning to make a video about loading old MPC 2 projects properly?
I’m loving the 3.0 beta. The arranger mode is so helpful that I feel I can make beats a lot easier than before. They just need to add the individual track mutes per sequence and track muting not cutting off audio, just MIDI and I’m satisfied
Are you able to just grab whole sections of the arrangement and move them around? Like for example if I have different parts to a verse and i decide I want to switch them around, can I just select two bars and physically move them, or do I have to do some weird shit?
Does transpose work for you? From the main page, changing the transpos value up or down doesn't change the octave range on a keyboard or on external synths when using the pads
I have a problem with the update every time I go to record either a progression or I want to open the sampler an alert appears that says please check temporary path in preferences and memory use how can I solve that I hope you can help me

So I must say this I love 3.0 I’m new to the MPC as of February of this year. I have an MPC one + I’ve worked with DAWS since I used PlayStation one to make beats and fruity loops back in the early 2000s like literally 2000. I made a few beats the using the 2.0 or whatever that previous version was and it was rather challenging because I wasn’t used to working and making beats in that format, but I did do it, but I swear to you That the beats that I’m making now sounds so much more well put together and constructed as though making them in logic Pro or fruity loops or Ableton. I am blessed with the timing of the three-point Oh. It has made my day and I’m making tracks more intricately and faster than when I was using a DAW because of how the MPC is designed😊. These are my humble opinions thank you for reading.

So I’m very familiar with a DAW type set up and that in my opinion, humble opinion is so convenient for a beginner like myself.
Great video btw, if you’re feeling the update than I feel it’s been certified
@@FazersOnStun hey brother, thank you for tuning in and I just read your previous message about the track mutes, it seems like the guy is going to be updating this and working on it, which is a good sign so far. Thank you, brother. I really appreciate you taking the time and being here. 🙏🙏
That's because you're not looking at it as song arrangement. (Song mode)
Sequence 1 intro
Sequence 2 breakdown
Sequence 3. Verse
Sequence 5 chorus
Sequence 6: verse 2
And so on....
Bro get at me for rare vinyl!

I really really really hate this work flow. I hate having to count bars instead of separating everything and working like I'm using Ableton like a dirty filthy daw beat maker
Respect Due. I dont even use a mpc.
It truly means a lot, brother, thank you so so much for taking the time. Much love and blessings.
Bruh I would love to work together one day. I don’t have a huge media presence but I’ve been on the boards for a long time.
