---------------------
So I traveled to Moscow and I wanted to share you my experience.
Guys, I can tell you that even in the beginning of 2000s I felt uncomfortable saying Europeans and Americans that I was Russian, bc the reaction to that was either awkward or sometimes not very friendly. Some didn’t hesitate to humiliate me just because) So what I have to say is that it didn’t all start in 2022, it all started decades before this date. Regardless of what I feel about the Ukrainian conflict I will never be ashamed of my nationality, my language or my country. And if you feel the need to bully me for that, well, so be it. It is your own responsibility. Hate, whether turned inward or out, creates a destructive state of mind that wreaks havoc with your physical health and emotional well-being. So if that’s what you’re looking for in life, so be it.
It's not about bullying it's about seeing you as a people for what your are: a people with blood on your hands and a dark and sinister past, present and future. The point is this time you will not be trusted again and the fact that you can speak as you do - as though your are not collectively responsible - is sick! And you have the audacity to talke about a destructive state of mind wreaking havoc when you are destroying a country and people, your own boys are being slaughtered and you threated nuclear attacks. That is what you Russians are looking for in life. How do you sleep at night? Clear off!
I mean, I never been adroad in the west, but even being at home I feel that.
For example I played game yesterday, some guy joined me, we played together, talk, having fun, and he asked my name. I told him: "Dmitry"
He asks: "Are you Russian?"
I said: "Yes"
And he disconnected immidiatly.
And this isn't a rare situation by any mean. I know it for sure, as soon as they get to know that I'm Russian they will eather kick me, or mute, or ban, or steal my loot. Even if we were fine before they know it.
talked to a lot of foreigners(in russian) and no one ever bullied me or show any hatred
@@andrewthomas-mz8nh We sleep just like you do - in beds. So, keep your preaches for yourself and the people you know personally.
😋 Guys, that's what I want to say. I have visited a lot of capitals in the world, I have been to Paris, Tokyo, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Berlin, Rome, Stockholm, Seoul, Ottawa, Singapore. but! There is no such amazing city as Moscow anywhere. Clean, comfortable, cheap, beautiful 15 million megalopolis. I am sincerely convinced that this is the best time and place to travel to Mother Russia.
I would call if grandiose, but I wouldn't call it "comfortable" at all. (in my opinion)
the best time to travel to a country is during a war? You gotta be a bot
maybe you wanted to say "blyatful"))
@@Casternaldo you mean travel to country which your government try destroy? Probably bad idea😂

I would love to go there and travel, but didn't know how it'd be with the current political climate... kinda the exact thing that you were addressing here. Here is still the same amount of sane people as it was before the SMO. I think it's even relatively more now, because so many crazy liberals left the country, including that freak Navalniy.
@Darkdally Yes, geographically and mentally, Russia is very far from the United States from each other.

I've been in russia for the past four months. I have been confronted several times for being American. It's usually from drunk guys near the bars. If not for the people I was with, I would have likely had to defend myself physically for maybe two of these instances. Though I am in the far eastern part of Russia where most people have never been in contact with an American. In Moscow I'm sure my experience would be different. I have to say though, that the majority of people here in the east are very welcoming and fascinated by my presence. Its quite easy to make friends here.
sorry to hear that drunkards opposed you. They are the cancer of our country and our society. I hope that in the future there will be more worthy people on your way, and as a Russian, I apologize for the behavior of these idiots.

Быть the only adult in the room - ведёт к тому, что "партнёры" с катушек слетают совсем.

@@screambeyond lol … sounds like you’re also describing cities like London versus other British cities!
It’s funny whenever people describes world phenomenon, as though it only happens to Russia (if it’s bad)

Russian people tend not to smile that often due to their closed behavior towards strangers. When people tend to know you more and open up - that's when you can see true emotion, smiles and trust. While in most other countries and America it is more of an etiquette thing and people tend to not be that openminded when you get close to them. Only one requirement - before of visit need to book a hotel.

Hey man, how long did it tame to get your visa processed? It says it takes 10 to 12 working days online, but on the video you said it was shorter, right?
Hows the immigration when getting in? I planning to visit soon. If I'm granted a visa.
You travel to Moscouw?! Onbelivebl. 😊
Hey, I have a question. I am from the Netherlands too. I am going to Russia too. I am visiting my fiance. Ari, where do you exchange your euro's to Rubles? Is this still possible? Do you have any advice for my travels?
I usually exchange directly with people I know that travel ocasionally to Europe. From what I understand euros are in demand in Russia now, so I'd see if I can find something that pays better than the normal rate.
@@LearntheRussianLanguage Thankyou so much
@@LearntheRussianLanguage Thankyou so much
I want to go to Russia so much. I’m Irish and I love the culture, music and books. I’d so like to immerse myself in this country for at least a year. These videos are so valuable and thanks! I’m Irish and continue to remain neutral throughout the geopolitical stuff
I am an American living in Moldova learning both Romanian and Russian. I am here working with Moldovan orphans and Ukrainian refugees (for the most part, although one of my friends is Russian and married to a Ukrainian woman). I really enjoy learning Russian and took a 2 month course from Fedor at BeFluent. It is quite stupid when people are rude to regular citizens who have no say in what their government is doing, good or bad.
How did you fly to Russia? Through which country? Thanks
By the way, EU citizens can get a visa, fly to Finland, and then take a bus to St. Petersburg, I guess. There are no queues at embassies since 2022. 😅😅
You look Russian to me, never would guessed that you are Dutch
I love Russia, russians, and mr. President Putin. God bless you! Ps. Don't be dependent of who or whether you are liked or not, or what others think if even they really think. Just be proudly yourself.
Relations are bad only with Western countries. Everything is fine with other countries. The world understands that this is Russia's war for its sovereignty and Ukraine is only a weapon of the West in this war. I, as a resident of Donbass, remember 2014 and what the West did to my country. After all that I have seen and experienced, I have no doubt who is right.
Russia identifies as a superpower.
A bunch of bandits and criminals intervened in Donbass, a sovereign country, telling stories about crucified boys and oppressed Russian minorities to protect, transformed part of the independent state in Transnistria and plunged Ukraine's richest city in 2014 into chaos. And later claimed that Ukrainian fascists are bombing schools in Donbass. Hit Malaysian Airplane killing and devastating all around Donbass. What did fascist dictatorship do in Georgia, Syria, Crimea, Transnistria and Donbass? When fascist dictatorship blew up skyscrapers in Moscow, then invaded Chechnya and completely destroyed Grozny, did you realize who was right? now fascist dictatorship is bombing russian cities like Odessa and Kharkiv, and don't tell me about donbass destruction by kiev nazis! Not even the most convincing Z-person believes this shit story!
What a load of horse shit. Pure delusion.

Do Holland and the USA have a lot of potential? Or is this expression suits only "undeveloped" Russia that should somehow "develop"?
People probably thought you were Shaman a popular Russian singer. You kinda look like him lol
shaman????😂
That's so refreshing😅
What is interesting about your English is that you have no discernible Dutch accent. The Dutch speak English wonderfully, but I can almost always easily detect a characteristic Dutch accent. You have none. Also, I don’t know if people have said this to you, but you actually look very Russian, more Russian than Dutch. Usually the Dutch have a different look. But there are exceptions. Marco Van Basten and Rutger Hauer kind of look Russian too, haha. And given that your Russian is fantastic, I bet people initially might think you’re Russian, or maybe Baltic. Anyway, your vids are great. Keep doing what you’re doing and good luck w everything.
It's because we are all connected and DNA tests confirm it😊
Hi Ari, what country are you from?
I'm from the Netherlands!
@@LearntheRussianLanguage thanks for this video in english, now i can show it to my friend from nl,he also has a russian girlfriend😇
@@LearntheRussianLanguage please make a video about the Netherlands and their culture and customs, this is very interesting for the Russian-speaking audience☺️👍
Hey, just found your channel, im from Russia and have been learning English since childhood, and i am happy to read, watch movies , happy to know new culture on another level. I guess you have same feelings about Russian language.
👍👍
have you seen any drug addicted people like in Amsterdam or Rotterdam?
No. we don't have drug addicts. We had a lot of drug addicts in the 90s, when the head of the country was a pro American President Yeltsin. Therefore, the worst thing for us is power of the pro-American president.
@@juliyakrus Thank you. I graduated from Moscow textile institute( University) in 1993. Lived in Moscow for 6 years and one year in Varonesh for Russian language it was called VTI ( Voronish technical institute). I love Russia and Russians. I still have connection with some of my former class mates .
