I remember buying this from a Woolworths in St. Helier Jersey when were on holiday. Good memories of my Dad and Mum and times when people who I thought were family were not the money grabbers they are today.
They started up right along with The Beatles and the invasion and PERSONALLY I could listen to this group way more! Allan Clarke just had one of those pure voices
THE BAND MEMBERS ON THIS VIDEO:(Harold Allan Clarke) [vocalist principal]. (Anthony Christopher Hicks) [guitarist, and backing vocals]. (Terry Terence Sylvester "Terry" Sylvester). [violon, and backing vocals]. (Robert Hartlley Elliott "Bobby" Elliott). [drummer]. (Bernard Bamford Calvert "Bernie" Calvert). [bass, bassist]. THE BAND MEMBERS!!!
THE HOLLIES IS A PRECIOSITY, A RARE JEWELL, A BIG (MASTER-PIECE) THAT SONG VERY (AMAZING) I LOVE AND TO ME IS A ADORABLED BAND!!! ONE PRECIOUS RICHESS!!!
yes such an awesome band just finished there book well worth reading as there concert in cardiff 2022 was so well worth it they where awesome long live the hollies
I had to drive for almost 3 hours from The Netherlands to Düsseldorf a couple of weeks ago, and the same time back to see them in concert.... Oh man, but it was so worth it... Even after 60 years they are still great, I love them
Many thanks for posting this video. This is such a great song!! Once it gets in your head it's hard to stop!! I'm surprised that this wasn't a bigger hit though...... Great to see a "studio live" performance with everyone suitably resplendent in 70's fashions and hair do's! This is a really good piece of Tony Hicks guitar work and as usual, brilliant vocals. Terry Sylvester's contribution to the band is often overlooked which is a shame because this song shows exactly what he was bringing....
Even without the singing this would be amazing, there’s a piano (I think) which just occasionally makes it’s presence felt beautifully, but that unique guitar sound, heard clearly from 1:46, is the icing on the cake, and with the incredible vocal arrangements it sends shivers down my spine. Amazing! My next favourite is LISTEN TO ME 1968!
I feel that I should apologise for not knowing that Cook & Greenaway penned this. I only found out today. Wow. Alan, Bobby, Tony everyone! And the 2 Rogers.
Still love The Hollies!
A very talented lot of young men. This song is a masterpiece.
Not only the Hollies' masterpiece as such - for any bass player Bernie Calvert's performance here is a revelation ... 😀
Great that he actually got some screen time here. Were his and Eric's voices so bad that neither of them got to sing?
To the Hollies…thank you for the music. You guys made millions happy for decades.
I'm 75 years old and remember this song from the first time I heard it. Cracking song and Lyrics.
I remember buying this from a Woolworths in St. Helier Jersey when were on holiday. Good memories of my Dad and Mum and times when people who I thought were family were not the money grabbers they are today.
The greatest, most prolific, underrated band ever........bar none.
Agree totally Barry... peace.
Almost agree. The Bee Gees outdid them for longevity, variety and volume of great music

Ya, the three people that disliked this song...........have a serious problem!
Allan Clarke proving, yet again, what a fine singer he was. Nice guitar licks from Tony Hicks too.
I was born in 1974. I adore this beautiful band x
'74 was a great year for music too, I was in my first year at secondary school. Every single week of every month was packed with dynamite songs!
Magnificent ! So proud of these lads from my home town and the North west of England.
Great song by The Hollies ❤️
Brilliant harmonies, great song. Loved it from day one it was released.
No one ever mentions Bobby Elliott, but not only is he an excellent drummer, he's also fun to watch! And, the toupee does him well with the Mod gear!
They started up right along with The Beatles and the invasion and PERSONALLY I could listen to this group way more! Allan Clarke just had one of those pure voices
This song still rings in my head fr my youth…beautiful melody.. great band

For me, that's the best Hollies' line up.
The Hollies,so many hits so little coverage, sad.
A masterclass in how to make a complex song sound effortless.

Monumental!! The greatest in their long list of phenomenal songs.
Tony hicks was my hero
Underrated master guitarist, and so damn good looking!
I'm sure we all have had a relationship with someone that didn't work out at all. This song describes a relationship I once had. Perfectly to a tee
