Funny story: me and my friends started re-watching the series and I started giving nicknames to the characters just for fun... And guess what? Now I'm always calling Casey "toothless Jones".

Man, it's been so long since I watched this series 😭
Here's what I think should have happened in the series:
1. Irma should have been REAL and not a robot. Her speech patterns and actions were human, you could say that her behavior was just her being curious and concerned for her friend.
2. April should have been with Casey. They were obviously dating or something in the second season. That would have given Donnie the opportunity to move on from his obsessive crush on her.
3. Donnie should have been with Irma. I think their personalities are more similar and they would have worked great together. Irma would have treated Donnie way better than April had treated him.
4. Irma should have been part of their team as their hacker or something.

I think Irma was real, I remember her getting attacked by something and then the next episode we have seen her, she was totally fine. Tho Im not sure. But I definitely agree with you, she should have been real and a potential love interest for Donnie. April and Casey obviously had chemistry, it sucks how they never dated and the love triangle was still there.
It was confirmed by the director that Casey did end up with Karai off screen

I love that this is actually a good series and we get teenage baby Casey🥰 At first watching this yeah we get teenage baby April. They’re making her the same age as the turtles ok that’s a cool spin. But then I’m like🙀 This means not much longer there will be teenage baby Casey! Yay! I’d say this is an accurate depiction of teenage baby Casey. This also means Casey and April are childhood sweethearts🥰😻
